Thanks for this! Kind of dreading doing this. I have a gasket leak at one of the mounting bolts(which i noticed when rebuilding my alternator). The bearing still sounds smooth...how insane would it be to attempt replacing *just* the paper gasket? Or should i just plan for a proper rebuild?

Honestly it might not be the paper gasket. There are so many seals in these, it's incredible that they don't leak more often. Sorry for the slow reply!

Hello, i the pressure in my toyota power steering pump is week and the steering wheel i little heavy to move, do you think this will help ?

    • @TheProPilot

It might. Usually it just results in whining from the pump and it fails completely. You might be lucky that the bearings haven't failed, but those pressure disks aren't sealing. If there's gunk keeping them from moving freely - that could be the issue, keeping them from pressing firmly against the shaft to create pressure.

AutoZone kit actually. Duralast 8797. If you're bearing is gone: take it to Napa and they can get a replacement high end bearing for it. 💪
