Love these vids, love hearing of your memories and things that have came and gone around the local tri-state. Any old photos of that go-cart?!? LoL

Hey my friend...Love your videos. I lived in Wellsburg and Steubenville in the Country Club Estates off of Lovers Lane right by the Steubenville Mall....This was a time from 1994 till 2017. My wife passed away in 2010 so I raised my two children up there. So many memories your videos give me. I live in South Carolina now but my son is married and still lives in Steubenville and my in laws live in Richland Oh. so we try to visit up there when we can. I am married now and couldn't be more happier, i've been truly blessed! My daughter is 12 but still has a lot of good memories of living up there. Every time it would snow really bad,we would go to the mall (as we lived so close) and walk around and eat at the pizza place that was there. (Don't know if it is still open or not or The Ville for that matter) as I heard that the mall might be closing down. Anyway, thanks for your videos... like I said, you bring back good memories and I appreciate them very much!!

Thank you very much! I enjoy looking back on all the great things we use to have in Steubenville and Follansbee. We were so lucky to have so much to do here in the 1970's and 1980's. I practically lived at the Fort Steubenville Mall. I wish I lived as close as Lovers Lane back then. We only had Sunset to drive on back then and getting there could take some time.

The pizza place & the Ville are still at our poor skeleton of a mall.

For ice cream tho, my favorite place EVER was Spahns (?) which was a little further east on Sunset on the corner of Braebarton Blvd.

When my cousin was in town she always took me to Spahns. It was the only place I know that had Pistachio ice cream. That's what I always got there.

@@itsmecamroy I remember having Pistachio ice cream for the first time at Isaly's downtown.

Dude!!!!!!! Mr. Wiggs' lunch counter! Loved that! I grew up across Sunset from there. I loved their burgers. When I was a kid, they'd always make me a chocolate coke. Talk about THE sugar buzz! Keep up the great work! I have an old picture somewhere around here of the Hollywood Plaza back in the 70s. Just took my son there a few months back and (probably) bored him to death with tales of things that aren't there anymore. LOL

I can't help see the town with what use to be there. Maybe if there was more new stuff I wouldn't do it so much.

I love your videos of old Steubenville! I remember SuperX in the 80's. I was born in 75. I think.if I'd have seen the African masks when I was 5 or 6 yrs old, they would have terrified me. I remember the old Krogers was over where OfficeMax is now. The bank, down towards the movie theater was Miners & Mechanics or M&M, and they always gave my grandparents's dog a sucker. I saw The Secret of NIMH, the Dark Crystal, & Beetlejuice at that theater, but only remember it with 2 screens. I remember when the downtown Treasure Island (best hot dogs EVER) closed & moved to the new store in the Hollywood Plaza, but it lost some of its charm. And I fondly remember the summer carnivals at the end of the school year. I HAD to get an elephant ear with cinnamon and sugar.

Miners and Mechanics was in the mall and downtown. I think the one in the plaza was Union Bank then later UniBank. When Treasure Island moved uptown I don't think they bothered bringing those wonderful hotdogs with them. I wonder why. At least I don't remember them operating the lunch counter uptown. Also I always wondered why no one ever recreated those hot dogs and sold them since everyone loved them! Thank you for your kind comments.

What brand of Hotdogs were those? My father always loved them and said he'd give anything to have one again.

I Am Nostalgic! I don't think they advertised what kind of hot dogs. I think the star of the show was more the crispy rectangle bun stuffed into wax paper sleeves. I always got ketchup, mustard, and chopped onions in mine.

Maybe that was it! By the way, I love your page. Thanks for taking me back to the valley. I'd like to find old photos of the Fort Steuben Mall someday. Most likely between late 70's to Early 90's. Long John Silvers, Woolworth's, the fountains, ect. These pages are great. Again Thank you.
