2023 Mercedes AMG SL63 - One of the Best Cars I've Ever Driven / Masterpiece

- The title pretty well says it all. The new AMG built SL is the greatest SL ever. What a masterpiece. With a lighter soft top that can be deployed in 15 seconds at speeds up to 60 km/h, this new SL is powered by a hand=built 4.0- V8 Twin turbo with 577 hp with power going to all 4 wheels with the latest 4Matic+ system.
The sound of the V8 sounds absolutely fantastic as the SL launches with all its pops and girgles. The SL has active aerodynamics to enable the ragtop the best handling whether the top is up or down.
Compared to the previous SL, this AMG built SL63 doesn't share a single component and is only available as an AMG version. This SL really is really my dream car and ticks all the boxes for this reviewer. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
This is the last of a special era in automotive history... One where you can actually hear the car literally breathing unassisted by any ELECTRIC BS. This is just my solo opinion Yes i know it has turbos but i miss the good old naturally aspirated engines and i will always find a way to drive my own.
Life is great a beautiful family, that V8 sound, Stonemill potato salad & some nice tomatoes from Costco. Before the electric revolution.

The previous AMG GT convertible was also one of my dream cars. So this new SL (and newly announced GT) is also definitely one of my dream cars. My other dream car is the C8 Corvette convertible. Nothing like a rear mid-engine V8 sports car fashioned after the legendary Ferrari 458; and unlike this SL, it's actually attainable. So because you don't need to be a millionaire to own a C8, it means I've been the lucky owner of a C8 convertible for over 2 years now (before interest rate hikes and luxury tax which will be over $20k for the SL). Based on the reactions I get daily and the mountain pass I drove yesterday, no regrets! It's no AMG, but then again, maybe it doesn't have to be.

I ordered this in Sun yellow and my kids (similar age as yours) love the rear seats and the experience of cruising open air. Upgraded from a decade old Z4. Thanks for showing the usability of this car with family (small kids). No one shows the rear seat usage. Will you be driving this in winter?

I had no idea the SL became a 2+2. This car would be great to drive, but Mercedes could improve the integration of ths infotainment screen into the dash console. It just looks out of place on such an expensive car.

Wait, I was told that every single new AMG will have the Affalterbach logo on the hood. Why doesn't this one have it?
This is a dinosaur and the convertible hardtop was better. Also, gluing an iPad to the center console is crappy design.
Agree with the iPad design but soft tops have less chance of leaking compared to hard tops in general.
These are made irrelevant by Corvette C8. And to add insult to injury, it is not good looking.
Amg SL buyers are not likely cross shopping anything with a bowtie associated with it. The C8 is good but it’s irrelevant to this demographic.
@@realitycheck469I agree. I think the new C8 is a great looking car and incredible performance too but is a different beast. I was looking to purchase (and yes I am old and retired now :0)) and was looking at a few choices as I was looking to move on from my 2010 BMW M6 Competition Edition. Choices were in no particular order yes new C8, Jaguar F-Type, BMW M850i or M8, Porsche 911 and the AMG SL63. C8 was first off the list, second off the list was the F-Type (mainly because this is the last year of the model), then I ruled out the 911. Yes that one is a legend and tops out so many of the performance categories but I am also not going to the track with my car and it seems today here in the Greater Vancouver area I just see so many and while great appear almost commonplace to me now. After driving the 850i and M8 they were close because I did love my M6 but ruled them out after driving the SL63. The new SL63, now with AWD, new gorgeous styling, more performance than I will ever need or be able to maximize, I found more comfortable than the 911 or F-Type (definitely more comfortable than my M6 just worked. I also love the sound of the car and the only one I liked equally sound wise was the V10 of my M6 :0). To be clear every one of the cars I just mentioned are great but the SL63 won out for me.
