- lyrics after my thoughts on this song
I've always considered this song more hymn-like in its melody and also an intimate prayer in its lyrics. In this song we proclaim that our Lord should get all praise and glory but we also speak to our part in union with Him and our part in growing ever more like Him. The fun part about it is, it is speaking to God in the plural, as "we" and "us". Perhaps like The bride would in writing a love song? May you, also, speak in a tender and committed way to the Lord as you worship today!
To you O Lord be the glory
The dominion and the power
To you O lord now be the majesty
That befits Your lofty throne
That befits Your Holy crown
That befits Your presence in this very hour
And let our voices be mighty
Filled of praises for Your honor
And our song shall be, a symphony
That will magnify Your name
That will signify Your reign
That will testify of You our Lord and Savior
And let our lives be completely
Dedicated to Your splendor
A sweet sacrifice of love in liberty
Bearing fruits of righteousness
Sharing in Your holiness
Swearing our allegiance to our heavenly Father
