This is exactly what Mila Kuniz did to get on the “That 70’s Show”, just the opposite. You had to be 18 or about to be 18, but she was 14 when she auditioned. They really liked her and asked if she was 18, she said no, so they asked when she’d turn 18, she said on her birthday, they asked when her birthday was and she only told them the month and day. They assumed she was turning 18 that year so they chose her for the part because she fit it perfectly. Later on when it went into production she told them her real age and said she never lied, she will turn 18 on her birthday.. just not for 4 more years lol. They still kept her on obviously.
Chloe Moretz pretended to be English all the way through her auditions for Hugo because they didn't think an American kid could pull off the accent. Clearly they were incorrect because nobody caught on for ages lmao

Also it's not stealing. They don't have age cutoffs to be "fair" like sports they do it because they want a particular look or vibe. The casters couldn't tell so clearly she had what they're looking for. And it's 1 role for 1 person it really doesn't matter who gets it. 1 person gets to live their dream if they are 12 or 15.

My mom told me a story about how she was in a commercial once. My grandfather was taking my aunt, and took my mom too even though she was short and not what they were looking for. She still got the part. Doesn't hurt to try. :)

While this is a success story, just to warn others, don't lie because they will find out and it can get you blacklisted from auditions, which seems harsh but equally, they don't want people who are going to lie about who they are and what they can do

She was a teen competing with kids, it was obvious that she would have won and she knew it. The age cutoff was solely for the look of the character. If a 15 year old looks the part and was chosen based on talent, then that's all that matters.

She was a teen competing with kids, it was obvious that she would have won and she knew it. But it isn't fair towards those kids who auditioned thinking they had a chanche but they never really had it, because someone who is three years older is more experienced and had a much higher chanche of getting the part

Well, the musical was billy elliot- in which the main character is 11, and has been FREQUENTLY played by 12-16 year olds,,,, so ,,, like,,, she didn’t invent this, and she isn’t a demon for doing this. its billy fucking elliot.

yes! she was the ballet girl who was told she looked like a s****** starfish which is how her fans became known as Starfish. There's a video somewhere in which she talks about how she didn't know the show but the person at the audition asked her to try something out and she had lots of personality and that helped her stand out
