I'm shocked that you didn't like Ghost Story. I think it's fantastic. I love the atmosphere and creepy vibe of the film. The acting is incredible. The story is great and I love the ending as well. I really have no complaints about this film at all. I'm just so floored that you were not a fan of this treasure. I personally love movies with older actors like this or The Changeling, Homebodies, We are still Here and so on. It's just a calmer, more grounded story and I love that. No annoying, loud, obnoxious teens. Not that I don't care for teen slashers but these movies are such a nice change of pace for me. I love the variety of horror I have in my collection and I cherish these rare movies with older folks. Especially those well older than me. I love that you can feel the cold in this film too. I can't say that for everything winter horror film
Hey Daniel, I’ve been catching up on some of your videos, and I love the energy! You and Cris H got me interested in horror films a few years back and now it’s one of my favorite genres, so thanks for that. Keep up the great work! -Phil M
A bit surprised to see gordon Mitchell star in a film like BLOOD DELIRIUM He used to play "good guy" Hercules"-type ancient heroes back in the 60's (in Italian sand and sword fantasies. Speaking of which, you might want to check out THE GIANT OF METROPOLIS, which is a very colorful mix of fantasy, horror/alchemy/sorcery/SF set in a kind of re-named Atlantis. Amazing sets and costumes, some scares, weird music score and....Bella Cortez!). I believe a high quality version is still on YT. Thanks for the quick review summaris of all these films.
Watched some of your video uploads and came across some great sounding movies as well as on this video upload such as The Hunchback of the Morgue which sounds great. The movie Freaks has Harry Earles in it who starred in The Wizard of Oz as one the Loillipop Munchkins. New Subscriber here
Happy New Year, Daniel! On the one hand I plan to cut down on my physical media purchases this year, but I’m hoping I continue to “discover” more classics, so I’ll still be blind buying stuff lol
Happy New Year! I saw Grave Robbers a long time ago on tv, but I never knew the name of the movie until now. I thought it was gross and awful. Maybe (big maybe) I’ll check it out again. Thanks!
x Happy New Year and Happy 1st Aniversary of the channel! x Crimson Peak was fantastic! x No Hard Feelings was fantastic! o Fantastic End of The Year film, extremely culturally significant too! o Part of the reason I like Jennifer Lawrence so much is how she focuses on culturally significant things. x I added Primal Rage (1988) to my January Watch List o One of my favorite arcade games is named Primal Rage. x For films I really liked (that you didn't recommend to me): o For Auld Lang Syne (2021- Snoopy Special) - A New Year's Eve special, it was fantastic! o 12 Tiny Christmas Tales o The Twelve Tasks of Asterix (recommended by a friend)
Only watched it recently , (I'm just an old Australian movie guy, ) I liked it a lot, unusual, I liked both girls. The creepy old sailor, The now gone I imagine, seaside town and Dennis,
The 7 best films I've seen in December (no particular order): 13 Ghosts 1960 William Castle The Tingler 1959 William Castle Riff-Raff 1947 Ted Tetzlaff Johnny Allegro 1949 Ted Tetzlaff Under the Gun 1951 Ted Tetzlaff Gambling House 1950 Ted Tetzlaff Decalogue I 1989 Krzysztof Kieślowski
It's also one of my life goals to one day be a crusty old man telling quasi-incomprehensible horror stories around a campfire to incredulous, sheltered teeny boppers, preferably on a beach in heavy fog...
A subgenre of the '80s-'90s Hong Kong Golden Era of movie making is the romantic comedy horror film (with elements of wuxia and supernatural thrown in for good measure). If it sounds like a lot going on, it is, but somehow it works. We don't often talk about Asian movies here, but see if _A Chinese Ghost Story_ doesn't whet your appetite for the Hong Kong version of the horror film. It's a subgenre of a subgenre, namely the Ghost Maiden story where a single maiden ghost falls in love with a living male and things don't usually end nicely.
Not talking about Asian films around here much is something I strongly intend to change this year. Already kicked off 2024 by watching an amazing Hong Kong film, and will do much more! And I really want to see Chinese Ghost Story, but it seems really hard to find. Let me know if you have any tips.
I read the book "Ghost Story" by Peter Straub, so I was very disappointed by the movie. It missed the point of the book, simplifying the plot to the extreme.
Last horror movie I watched was Black Christmas, but for This last week I watched "Touchez Pas au Grimsbi" Great French fim noir/ Crime drama, and borrowed back of my step son, Hentai Kamen, Japanese super hero comedy, like Spider-Man but our hero gets his super powers from a girls underpants on his head, catchphrase.." I'm not a pervert !
Oh hey, I wanted to let you know I just found The Bride in a store and picked it up! I remember you recommending it to me. Looking forward to watching it!
Ghost story was really good I thought.. was def creepy when he pulled her under the water in the Bathtub and she came up screaming lol how creepy was that!! But they def wronged that poor woman..
Saw Ladrones de Tumbas and Cemeterio Del Terror back to back on Chicago tv when I was like 9. The Spanish stations would air all of these films unedited in regards to the violence. Any nudity would be blurred (and quite clumsily, I might add). I didn't know Spanish at all, but I taped those two flicks as soon as I saw the listing in our weekly tv guide. I absolutely LOVED these two movies, and was blown away by the cheap gore effects and atmosphere. Great times where had when I would find monster movies or Kung Fu movies on the TV (us poor troglodytes didn't have cable, but that changed eventually). Two very fun, if flawed, films. Cemetario starred Hugo Stiglitz? Anyone on here know who Stiglitz was? Good times, hahaha. I hope they came with extra features, because I will DEFINITELY buy those two again
I’m definitely down to be in your old man scary stories group. 👴🏻🤣 Such an awesome video as always dude. 🔥🔥🔥 So many great recommendations. You sold me on Blood Delirium. 🩸🩸🩸 Gonna add that to my existing order for sure. Appreciate you!! 💯🤘🏻
Ghost Story is one of my favorite ghost stories.❤❤❤ Agreed Alice is amazing!
Dude I was just recently thinking about how much cooler the names of horror movies used to be. It's so true.
The Alice Krige/Borg bit gave me my first laugh of 2024. Also, "horror titles used to mean something in this town!" 10/10 fricheks
hahaha I’m honored! Happy New Year, dude!
Happy Channelversary! I would totally join that 70 year old spooky story club!
Thanks! Heck yeah, it’s gonna be the best club! 😂
@@cobwebschannel agreed! Love spooky stuff! Btw, if you ever have the chance I do a lot of horror movie parody videos you might get a kick out of!

It certainly has some great moments, which is why I was overall mixed on it, not totally negative. I also love The Changling and We Are Still Here.
I saw Ghost Story at the theater when it came out. It was ahead of its time for horror way back then. Still a great movie!

Have you ever seen the movie Night Tide with Dennis Hopper? If so what did you think of it?
Only watched it recently , (I'm just an old Australian movie guy, ) I liked it a lot, unusual, I liked both girls. The creepy old sailor, The now gone I imagine, seaside town and Dennis,
Yep, I’m a fan! It’s Val Lewton without actually being Val Lewton. haha

Do your own binge watching with the titles you own already. That's what I do.
You need a sister channel called "The Fog Nerd"
haha Perfect!
👍

Naschy eternal!
The legend!!
My worst horror blu-ray is Nazis at the Center of the Earth, which ends with a cyborg Hitler. Bought it at Dollar Tree.
Yikes!! haha
the clue remake MAX
