How medal event is judged:
Quarterfinals - 4 head to head 5 minute matches. Best trick counts, winners advance to Semifinals.
Semifinals - 2 head to head 6 minute matches. Best trick counts, winners advance to finals.
Bronze match - 1 head to head 8 minute match, best trick wins bronze.
Gold match - 1 head to head 8 minute match, winner wins gold.

It’s really nice listening to the commentators being unable to stop talking about how old they think Decenzo is. He’s an amazing athlete, and they sit on their butts talking. Like, just stop. And the Monster woman standing there smiling vacantly is pretty creepy. If I woke up and she was standing by my bed doing that I’d probably scream…

I find it more annoying with all the people complaining about it, nothing they say is anything but a compliment. He's still skating like he's 20 and not 37, and that's amazing and worth being pointed out.

For the love of skateboarding, if the X-Games needs to fulfill a quota of having a female voice in the commentating booth, please let someone with knowledge do so. No one cares if it's a woman or not, we just want broadcasters who are good at their job.

It's just what a large portion of skaters are these days - skatepark kids that look like they qualify for the role on paper, but really can't relate. Any STREET skater, whether it is being at a Gary Rogers or Malto level, will always be able to do a better job at a STREET event

@@ranglerBRpoker seems like they’re setting up the skaters to fail or get injured. Really weird. No idea why they can’t just do these competitions at established skate parks. Would cost much less and would renew the park for kids who skate there. It’s a win win

Sticking with switch heel/nollie heel tricks is sick. But Nyjah’s got such a big bag of tricks. I wish he would mix it up more.
I know what you mean. I have a feeling that Nyjah was trying to get some practice in, with those tricks, for his street final. Otherwise, I completely agree.
@@chrisreynolds654 I’m not too sure. He’s been prioritizing those tricks in every recent SLS too. I miss the the days when he’d just out of nowhere 360 flip smith grind, bigspin front hurricane, random hard flip over huge obstacles.
Judges here and SLS seem to score those tricks pretty dang highly. Think that’s why he’s been on em lately. He wants the W’s

Didn’t think I would like the new format but you can’t deny that in the old format, a skater does their trick and may potentially wait multiple minutes before getting another attempt. In this format at least they stay warm and in rhythm. Cool idea, I liked the style score in the winter X events too.
All this said WHY NO REAL STREET AGAIN THE SKATE AND BIKE LAST SUMMER WAS THE COOLEST EVENTS AT X IN YEARS!!!
It's really frustrating that they don't score tricks individually (or atleast don't present it to the audience that way). Because of this we have no idea what the logic is on the judging for each trick. We just have to trust their vibe.

My image quality in the streams is perfectly fine and I am a pixel peeper type of person lol. I do hate when sections are cut out I noticed that earlier in this event but I never had video quality issues in all my years of streaming XG on YT

I hate how Nyjah refused to give courtesy to Ryan or Felipe. For the most part when he did his trick he would go up the stairs instead of around and I felt like it threw the skaters off because they had to also make sure Nyah was safe. That's just my opinion. GGs
I don’t like this format for a best trick contest. Putting skaters 1v1 is a decent idea but Nyjah is just going to knock out whoever you put him against anyways. Jamie Foy could have been on the podium if he weren’t put against Nyjah in the first round. It should just stay Jam format with multiple rounds and the lowest ranking skaters eliminated each round until the final round which could be a 1v1. This way every skater has the same chance to make it to the finals. This format is whoever gets the better match up makes it further which isn’t fair.

Love Amelia’s commentary great pronounciation and stoke levels, i could imagine it being difficult to get the tricks called perfectly but she’s doing a great job for the mens and women announcing.
I like this format in theory, but don't think it worked out too well in practice. Oh well, there's always next year.

Tbh I like the 1v1 format because it reminds me of SKATE for the camaraderie we see (Gonzalez/Vienna was highly fun to watch) but all just on a single handrail is awful design. Get score system back and or have skaters share in choosing a specific spot(s) to skate for BT and compile highest scores from all spots skated for someone to move on.
