I’m keeping my 22. This new version is boring, clearly designed for brain dead Gen Zers.

Couldn't agree with you more, brain dead doesn't do them justice!

The first reviews here in central EU are quite positive. We will get the three-cylinder mild hybrid with 61kw. For a new car of this age, it looks like they kept a lot of things from the old school - classic handbrake, almost round steering wheel, manual transmission, separate ventilation control panel with buttons (not everything is controlled via the touch screen), instrument panel with analog pointers and to my personal surprise - engine port injection. So the car will not suffer from carbon deposits and is ideal for city driving. It also has fairly low MPG. Not bad Suzuki, not bad.
But... the design. Since it's all a matter of choice, I found it "too cute" for my taste. Especially the headlights. I think it's closest to the 1st gen in that matter. And the toilet seat-like hood was spot on. Also I don't really care about the Sport, since its gonna be a hybrid again. I didn't like the last one and I don't think this time will be any different.
IMHO the best design for Sport models is still 32.
31 was too cute for me, great car but just too cute
32 matured, but still not too much, and I think they managed to balance it best here (i especially like sharp headlights and saber-shaped taillights)
33 matured again and became more daily oriented, the design became more european (more boring for some), which is again a matter of choice, some liked it, some didn't

Thanks for letting me know about the 3cyl engine thought there must be more engine specs. I did notice the heater control panel I forgot to mention that in the video, that's another positive. I like the addition of engine port injection that's very handy in everyday usage! Mechanically I'm sure it will be just fine.
Agreed the design just isn't it for me either. Good point about the sport too with it being a hybrid, I've heard mixed things about the hybrid 33S I can't say that I would have one. Some may view it as a biased opinion but I also agree with the 32 being the best all round looker. Imo the 31 looks miles better when modified to take the cutesy look away, same with the 33 but I must say it's a tad more bland too, like you say it's each to their own with the design of them 👍

The ones pictured could be the AWD models I’m not sure, the AWD model is slightly raised

The previous generation car was a far better looking car and the Generation before it, its funny how thr car is looking worse with every new iteration, I will say though that the swift generation you and I have is the best looking one and probably not that easy to beat really. I really hate how they stopped doing the 1.0 ltr booster jet as it was basically their best engine, they're kinda going away from the booster jets it seems with the swift. I'm not happy with this cars looks and i don't think id buy one to be honest but the engine is a bigger turn off, if i upgrade I'll go with the 2017-2020 swift 1.0ltr booster jet 👌

It absolutely was mate, I'm not sure where their design inspiration originated from but they need to change it lol. I keep saying to people I'm biased about the 32 being the best looker but everyone seems to also agree. I didn't know they axed the 1.0 boosterjet that's a shame, I wonder why... Tbh neither am I, wouldn't touch this new one. I can safely say I'll never be upgrading from my 32, had it for half of its life now and I aspire to keep it with me for the rest of my life, I'd like to be that one who's kept their car from 18y/o to drive it in retirement lol.

@@wallsworkshop Would be cool to hold onto it for a proper long time, I'd say that engine would be more reliable then the booster jet if you were keeping it for the long haul. It's odd why they scrapped the booster jet 1.0 for the swift, I assume it's to do with emissions and maybe they weren't selling enough of that engine either. most of the swifts are using the 1.2 petrol still. They also scrapped the 1.3 DDIS swift from 2011-2013, which had the same fate as the 1.0 booster jet when you think about it 🤔

@@novicetheaf defo mate I'll be keeping her. I agree, nearly 100k miles and absolutely 0 engine issues I've just maintained her as required! Most likely yeah that's why If I'm right in saying, it has to be registered as a commercial vehicle if the emissions are too high, which is what happened with the jimny as it still uses the M15 A I believe.

I’m a big fan of the Swift and have had all three previous versions of this car over past 15 years or so. My current is the top speck sz-5 in black and love it. All have been super reliable, I do nearly 20k miles a year so they’ve all had some proper use. All I have ever needed was services and new tyres. But this new version does nothing for me ,it looks pretty ugly and lost its sporty looking charm. It just looks a little odd, I quite can’t put my finger on it as it does look familiar. Think my current swift will unfortunately be my last.

very nice, my parents have a similar car in the 4WD spec. Likewise with me I've put 50K Miles on my 2014 sport now since owning it, all I've done is maintenance and replace 2 rear callipers as they were sticking. The new version seems to only appeal to the likes of kids in college these days and It's just not it, agreed again on the looks it's way to cutesy and soft compared to all other generation swift. Like you say it's a weird one to put your finger on, I'll be keeping my "14 sport till I'm old and grey!
