    could you do a video on making text on a arch instead of a circle? so all the letters are still lined up properly

      Great question! Here's a quick way to do it: Use the Bezier Pen to make the arch the way you want it. Type your text and center it with the arch. Select both the arch and the text. Then do the same Text-Put on Path step using the drop down menus.

    I am trying to do text in an Infinity symbol but can't seem to get it to work any advise you can give me?

      For sure. Here's one method. Use the Bezier Pen tool to make two separate curves, tracing the infinity symbol. The first curve starts at the left and makes the top half of the left hump and bottom half of the right hump. Duplicate this first curve and flip the new one vertically to make the second curve. Now you can write your text and Put on Path just like with a circle. The second curve will let you fill text inside the left of the infinity ♾ symbol. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope this helps!

    When should I use 'Object to path' vs 'stroke to path' ? I still don't understand the difference between the two

      Outstanding question. It gets confusing and the feature even changed in the latest Inkscape release. Best way to explain is with an example. Let's say you have a red circle with a black stroke (outline). You can use Stroke to Path if you want to get Path Effects end Edit Path by Node functionaluty to just the OUTLINE (stroke). The outline is now separated. Object-to-Path makes the whole thing a new path with the outline attached and anything you do.

    What does it mean to 'reverse ' a path ?

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Inkscape takes into account the direction you make a path. Say you draw an arch from left to right. Click Reverse and it will look like nothing happened. To see Reverse in action add text and apply Text-Put on Path. Now click Path Reverse. The text changes based on the reversal of path.

      @@IronEchoDesign When I put text on an arch it always begins from the left end, I want to center the text, but Align and Distribute tool doesn't seem to work in this scenario

    • @IronEchoDesign

      You are right. Aligning text on a path, will center it floating somewhere in the middle. Two quick solutions: if you're trying to make an even curve, you can start with a full circle and Text-Put on Path. If it's a custom arch and putting your text on path has it on the left...select the text and use the space bar to move it towards center. It will advance along the path.
