    You just blew my mind. What you said about our wins. We’ve been fighting against everything this year to win games. We fought through a period where we were winning nhl games with half the Marlies on our roster. Despite everything, we are first in our division, second in our conference.
    Ask yourselves, if we are 100% healthy, and everyone clicks and are playing their best hockey that we’ve seen them play at times this season, who the hell is going to stop us? I hate to hope, but the possibility of what these new leafs are capable of is making it hard not to.

      4 Nations Cup means a condensed schedule. Every team is playing a lot of back to backs. Also, they had it pretty damn easy during the first 20 games. There are always rough patches in an NHL schedule, especially years like this. Annnd not one team out west wants to hear The Leafs or their fans whine about how hard their schedule is. They all travel way way way more and have just as many B2Bs.

    Pretty sure Hathaway was shoved into the goalie and McCabe did get caught on the way down which looks like knocked him out. As a non biased fan was Hathaway supposed to fight him from his back when you challenging someone you can’t be Jump or caught off guard.

    • @bradsmith4820
      @bradsmith4820 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Not even wrong on this one. From the replay it looks like McCabe hooks Hathaway, both go down and McCabe's arm lands on Hathaway's head. Hathaway looks up at McCabe and says something, McCabe shoves him twice when he's still not on his feet, then when Hathaway finally gets up McCabe grabs his jersey and seems to instigate a fight.
      I don't know what McCabe expected but you're instigating a fight with a dirty player, you're gonna get your money's worth in a fight. If the outcome hadn't been so unfortunate, I would have said McCabe got what was coming to him.

    7:45 A thing that is actually pretty easy to see in the clip if you pull it up is that Hathaway actually grabs Gudbranson's chin strap on his helmet and unbuckles it while he's looking the other way. Gudbranson in reaction to this takes his hand that's holding onto Hathaway's collar and jabs him. Then Hathaway spits on him. Hathaway instigated the whole thing lol.

      This plagued Woll for his early NHL starts. Luckily Woll worked through it so I'm confident Hildeby will too. Definitely agree with the Keefe mentality thing though, felt like the Leafs in general started very slow under Keefe. It felt inevitable that at some point in the first period they'd be blown wide open and it'd be up to the goalie.

    I’d be amazed if McCabe is out for less than 3-4 weeks. His head was pounded HARD into the ice (completely accidentally of course). He was clearly in trouble when he tried to sit up. He needs to ensure he takes the time he needs to get over it, lest he risk the rest of his career.

    📿 Someone PLEASE get Willie an Amulet! He's the most frustrating player for me to watch, due to the lack of effort in his play. We've seen what he can do after being benched, his backchecking abilities, and when he is like a dog on a bone with the puck, but this season (even with the goals) he just looks lazy. Imagine the goals he could have right now if his effort level was up. Something seems off.

    Im honestly kind of terrified because if the Leafs win the President's trophy for best regular season record that trad means little playoff success (AKA the Presidents trophy curse) the trophy has been awarded 36 times and only 8 have won both. that's 22 percent. Personally I'd take 1st in the division and home ice for the first 2 rds. Lets not get greedy here people.

    • @gormros
      @gormros 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Winning the division is the focus. It sends a big message. The Panthers generally ramp up like crazy heading into the playoffs and the Bruins were notoriously good in the regular season. Obviously the Bruins have had a rough season but it's a message nonetheless

      @Grlzzl 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      If there's 16 playoffs teams doesn't that mean each teams chance of winning the cup is under 7%? So the President's trophy winner is 3x more likely to win the cup than the other teams? Personally I like those odds

    • @TheJohtaja
      @TheJohtaja 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Grlzzl While of course not exactly true, this is still closer to the truth than just seeing the numbers for the president's trophy winner winning the Cup. It's still good being the best in the regular season.

    Willie looks slow and not giving a Fark, I counted 3 giveaways in just a few minutes with many more during the game. He's not even shooting when he gets a chance, and he should. On the PP he is invisible. Leafs need him to get back to form. Marner made some amazing moves, man that drive through all 5 Flyers will go down in history, pity he didn't score but he sure tried.

    • @gormros
      @gormros 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      If he had scored that would have been his best ever play and probably one of the best plays in the entire league so far this season. The footwork on him is insane, he's so fast but manages to just sneak past everyone

    The Leafs halfway through: a generally tougher, more unified group that stands up for one another. They have goaltending 😊 A D core that makes life hard on opposing forwards and skilled forwards who can score. Now, we have to stay healthy and get some bounces in this imperfect game of hockey. Let’s face it, luck plays a role. I like Berube’s Leafs and I give Tre a high five.

    Steve, Imma be honest here, Jake McCabe was in the wrong here.
    He was hooking Hathaway, impeding his movement and causing him to hit Hildeby.
    I still think the Flyers getting penalized for it was a good call, because the fact is: the goalie was hit and interfered with
    But acting like McCabe was right to harass Hathaway because "he ran into his goalie" is simply not true.
    Apparently McCabe is injured, so I wish him a speedy recovery,
    but it could've been prevented had he not pushed and harassed Hathaway or had he not hooked Hathaway into Hildeby in the first place!
