    The Jets' incredible goaltending, and depth forwards is what usually overwhelms most opponents. The 3rd and 4th line of the Jets are not only hard working and big, but in terms of raw skill, probably the most skilled 3rd and 4th lines, too. Give them a moment to score, and they will.. snipers up and down the line up.. not just on the top line.
    That said, it was the Jets' top line doing all the work for this one!

    Sometimes, the Leafs don't make sense. They let Hyman walk and have spent every year since trying to find a "Hyman type" player. They already had him and let him go. They had Schenn, traded him away, then got him back again and he was great. Then didn't resign him and now all we're talking about, yet again, is a "Luke Schenn" type player.

    • @AndrewAnderson-bx8uf
      @AndrewAnderson-bx8uf 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Leafs would be scary with Hyman now. Might not score 52 goals, but his style of play would be extremely helpful

    • @Outta-hz1ej
      @Outta-hz1ej 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +35

      "Letting Hyman walk" is an absolute shift of the narrative. Hyman went ghost in every playoff series he played here, he had 5 goals in 32 playoff games. Never had more than 41 points in a season, and got injured frequently but demanded more money than the cap-strapped Leafs had to offer. Sure, he had a great season last year but he is literally playing on a line with the greatest athlete and smartest playmaker in the game. Luke Schenn was also given a qualifying offer by the Leafs which he declined as a 33 year old defenceman who just a couple years prior was in the AHL. Schenn is making almost 3 million per year on the worst team in the NHL as a 35 year old veteran. He would have cost too much. Young Luke Schenn was traded for JVR who was a much needed winger on a Leafs team that couldn't score goals

    On to topic of Rielly not having the best partners... we're talking about a player who makes $375k less than Victor Hedman. We've seen him line up with every righty they have this year, plus OEL and nothing sticks. Riellys not trusted on the PK unless 2 defenders are in the box, at times isn't even on the top PP unit, and in the dying minutes of a game when the team is up, he's rarely on the ice because he's "not a defensive defenseman". At what point do we accept the fact that there are better options for that top pair position and trade him?

      As a Habs fan who watched the game as an “appetizer” to the CBJ-MTL game, the Jets are so good defensively it’s like there’s always 6 guys in the ice for them. • @SK-WPG
      @SK-WPG 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      @@basilictrone42 The problem is, this is mostly the same Jets team as last year and had the same amount of points at this time last year. Then the went into the playoffs like limpsauce and were destroyed by the AVS. They are still a #2 Center and a TOP RHD away. If they get those, maybe.

    • @brentchapman1958
      @brentchapman1958 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      The 2023 playoff Jets won the first game by dominating the Avs with a withering forecheck and offensive attack, the same style of play that helped the Jets defeat Avs all season long. Then the Jets were undone by a coach, their own. Rick Bowness said postgame 1 that the Jets weren’t going to win playing like that…(yet they just did!) so he pushed into a tight defensive scheme. The rest is history, a painful history. Arneil is, hopefully, not like Bones.

      Any team with Hellebuyck has a chance and the Jets have a deeper team than Toronto. Connor seems to love playing the Leafs. And Schiefele got to experience the thing that apparently there is nothing better than, just before Christmas.

    For the non review, I think it was the right call. Blues OT winner on Calgary, puck was in front of the goalies pad, not covered, puck and goalie got pushed in by Parayko’s shot. The key seemed to be that the goalie never covered it. It was reviewed, good goal. Montgomery said that they’d recently looked over 5 challenges on similar plays, and the league was pretty consistent on counting those

    • @reaganharder1480
      @reaganharder1480 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The thing where it gets weird... the puck wasn't covered, and then vilardi goes to pursue a loose puck in the crease (which is very allowed) and the puck gets sorta covered before vilardi gets his stick under the pad and knocks it loose again. If the scrum started with the puck where vilardi knocked it loose from, i think it's pretty clearly interference (and I'm speaking as a Jets fan), but since it all happened very quickly during a scrum, what counts as covered is a little bit murky, and challenging the call becomes quite a bit more risky.

    Why Mitch Marner should play centre. 1. Natural playmaker 2. More ice to work with 3. Defensively responsible 4. Not a corner guy 5. Drive his own line 6. Can solve centre problem 7. Centreman justifies bigger contract better 8. Create a new challenge for Marner 9. Changes the narrative from contract 10 Easier to find a winger. 11. Creates centre depth. 12. Less assets to get a winger than another centre. Marner is Denis Savard 2.0 in the waiting. There may be some concern about faceoffs and strength down low. But go look at some Denis Maruk highlights. 5" 8, 165-pound, 60 goal scorer when NHL was more rough and tumble. Great chance for Marner to show what he is truly made of!!!

    2:31 literally everyone has been sick lately, especially some of my family members😆
    I’m sick right now, having a dry cough while watching this video😂🤒
    This is so rare, like the leafs getting beat by a Zamboni driver rare🤣

    Reilly’s 2 on 1 D is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. He does the same half assed shit every time and the pass gets through EVERY time. It’s crazy that he hasn’t improved in that area

    Jets played the Stars last season. Helly had his helmet off and play went on and while Helly was getting the Refs attention Dallas scored. Yeah Refs.

    13:00 NHL F The jets harder than you can cry... Helly did have the puck and we got F'd. A puck under shade isn't covered and this goalie didn't know where the puck was. And you didn't get NHL'd by the call.
    Wait until the playoffs, you will see bookies odds and refs in full force! 1 team Is meant not to win since the WHA!

    The playoffs are the most exciting part of the season. It is not a holdover of the game of yester year. A decent amount of the calls during the main season are bs.

    The goalie has to make an attempt to keep the puck out. He didn't, he just sat there. And the puck was loose. Good goal.

      Terrible goal.
      When does goaltender come into play now?
      When is the play dead?
      Absolutely terrible call.

      @@johnlocke_1 Given the Situation Room, I'd say 50/50 whether they'd call it good. Woll couldn't really do anything more, and the puck was technically loose, but he WAS interfered with by having his pad moved. Honestly, the refs should have reviewed it on their OWN initiative.
