It is gone, we lived through the zenith of our time. The corrupt government will take down this country like what happened to Rome. My condolence for anyone approaching retirement you may have concerns over whether your pension pot will stretch to cover the rising costs of living. Bad energy policy, bad foreign policy, bad regulatory policy , and insane fiscal policy.

Agreed, I prepared in 2015 took my assets and pension abroad (yeah paid a penalty) where I had much more buying power and bought a huge farm with springs of fresh water and houses. All paid off. I can easily grow my own food and often do. I did get penalized but my money has gained far more than it would have and I owe nothing

"Nancy Pelosi stated on Friday (2022-03-11) that inflation was solely Vladimir Putin's fault and insisted that their multi-trillion dollar deficit spending is "reducing the national debt" and "not adding to inflation."
The President, meanwhile, has blamed inflation on "greed", while the Federal Reserve insists that higher prices are a result of supply chain dysfunction.
Not one of these institutions-- Congress, the White House, or the Fed-- seems capable of looking at their own actions.
    1. The Fed refuses to consider that inflation is due to their dizzying expansion of the US money supply; the largest since 1943.
    2. Congress refuses to consider that inflation is due to their insane deficit spending; the largest ever in US history.
    3. The White House refuses to consider that inflation is due to its fetish for anti-competitive regulations and constant attacks on capitalism.
So, when the three key institutions charged with keeping inflation in check refuse to understand why there's a problem, it's hard to imagine they're going to fix it.
There are plenty of other lingering inflation factors as well; geopolitical conflict is obviously inflationary. COVID-19 continues to be very inflationary. Environmental fanaticism is inflationary."
    -- Simon Black
*Prices are inflating because the currency is intentionally devaluing.*

I agree. Her portfolios are filled with growth stocks which are just getting hammered because of high lending as well as cash burn runways that are finally getting noticed. A lot of zombie companies I suspect make up her holdings. This is going to be a slow recession. Just too much money in the system right now. Inflation won’t start to cool until student loans are finally starting to get repaid (January 2023) and even then the 5% discretionary income rule will have inflation remain much higher than the 2% Wood just mentioned. As a company driver I keep track of diesel prices and the variables that affect that pricing. Diesel fuel came down slightly 4-5 months ago and has stayed in the $5-5.50 range since. Freight charges can only drop so far before a carrier refuses to haul goods. I firmly believe the cost of diesel has not been fully priced into costs.
As is widely touted, 70% of all goods in America are hauled by truck. The remaining 30% are hauled by railroads, which are powered by diesel fuel. With the looming work stoppage in the rail industry, the federal gov't will push rail companies to give workers their demands, after a report that five out of the top seven railroads are profiting sufficiently, according to the feds. Railroads in turn will be motivated to raise rates, further compounding inflation.
When goods of any degree are slowed or stopped, prices will continue to rise. Most carriers are close to being maxed out, with additional regulations adding more hinderances.
    Invest wisely.
