    Happy New year Ryan. Your simple yet accurate observations on the pros technique has completely transformed my game. Though I have huge ground strokes, I have been struggling to hit consistently as I age. Your videos have really helped me ease my hands, fire my torso rotation and focus a lot more on timing the ball rather than worrying about ploughing thru the ball . So much so that I have won 5 rec level tournaments in just 10m and I give 5.0 + players a really hard time, no small feat considering I am 40 yrs old 😀 . Thanks for everything , ur doing a gr8 job focusing on the biomechanics 👍

    As a lefty I've always been a big fan of Fernando. It's great to see you slow his forehand down so I can go back and copy it now and then

    Most important issue you have forgotten in your explanation , and that is keep your hand relaxed and that is where the speed ( head speed ) is coming from. Relaxed hand is also improving relaxing your arm Use the racket like a whip.

    Good tips. I always struggle keeping my none hitting hand high...it tends to naturally drop. Perhaps catching the racquet will help with this.

    Hello ryan, Still an other great video. Question, your forehand looks like verdasco except for me less inside outside path before the stroke. Il is maybe the pros use more internal rotation of the shoulder like in you birthday hat demo. Maybe a video about this subject ? Happy new year. Jeff from France.

    Thanks for the video. One question. When is the correct timing to drop the racket? When the ball is rising? Before the ball fall or just when it hit the ground? Thanks. Happy new year from Canary’s islands.

    how is that 'coiling' when his shoulders and feet are parallel to each other when he faces to his right side? there's no 'coiled' stored energy in his body. the only part that is coiled is his head, which is perpendicular to his whole body. right?

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There doesn’t need to be a great disparity between the shoulders and hips for there to be a coil.

      As I understand it, the "coil" is really tensioned (or "coiled") slightly later in the swing, as the racquet is being moved down in the backswing and the player starts to turn their hips. With the shoulders lagging, *that's* when the real tensioning of the coil happens. As the swing progresses and the shoulders turn through the forward part of the swing (catching up with the hips), then the stored up energy is released. You could think of that initial turn to the side as "initialising" the coil, with tensioning the coil coming just a little later. Ryan can correct me if I'm wrong :)

      @@danielscott4514 Daniel you are 100% correct. Lower body lead the way and the shoulders follow. That’s where real power comes from. Thanks!!
