ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਦਸ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਟੱਬਰ ਰੋਟੀ ਵੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪੜਦਾ ਲਿਖਦਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਘਰ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਕਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਦਾ ਖਰਚਾ ਵੀ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਲੈਣੀ ਵੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਘੱਟ ਤੇ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੌਣ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਊਚਰ ਨਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਤਜਰਬਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਰਗਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਇਹ ਦੇਸ਼ 150 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਨੇਡਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਜਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਕਰੋੜ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦ ਕੋਈ 10 ਜਾਂ 15 ਲੱਖ ਇਮੀਗਰੈਂਟ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਘਰ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ 10 15 ਲੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੇਟ ਭਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਇੱਕ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ, ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਗਰ ਇਹ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਕਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਬਣਦਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਕਨੇਡਾ ਹੁਣ ਇੱਕ ਭੁੱਖ ਨੰਗ ਮੁਲਕ ਬਣਨ ਦੀ ਕਗਾਰ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਅਗਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਮੀਗਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਾਵ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇੰਨਾ ਬੋਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਝੱਲ ਸਕਦਾ

When I came to Canada in 2003 There were few students. So I wast hated by other Punjabis as much. But back then Punjabis use to hate refugees. radio programs weld held against refugees and callers would hate on refugees. I feel punjabi students are our brothers sisters and kids. We should treat them

My both daughters are doing BSCN , Nursing in Ontario, fully paid by CAF. living expenses were also covered for 4 years. I also receive child benefits for my younger son. My mom dad each get $700 monthly Old Age security pension. I have dependents so I paid very low tax. You have no idea how much Child benefits I got for 3 children. My elder daughter will clear Nclex next year and her payrate will be $45 /hr starting as a Registered Nurse. From childhood her school was Free. Now college is Free via Canadian armed forces.

Its an absolute lie that Indian education is very expensive.Please note it is far far more cheaper than the Canadian education.India is a huge country, are all the Indians are trying to run away from India ? Why only vast majority of Punjabis are running away ? I know lot of Punjabi after getting good education in Punjab get well settled across India and I am one among them, and they are happy.The only problem with Punjabi community in India is that the new generation shirks from hard work in the farms or in the education and resort to shortcuts.Success has no shortcut.

Our Punjabi students might have gone in Canada after taking proper skills. I have observed that a majority of students in Canada from Punjab are not able to speak fluent English and are becoming truck drivers but they ignore other areas like education in medical education are still being ignored which is highly required in western countries. The main problem in Canada is that the vast majority of students and immigrants are coming to a few cities and metropolitan areas. Very limited jobs and housing are available in these areas, and it is impossible to employ every single immigrant and international student. On the other hand, inflation is super high, and housing expenses and other expenses are very high.
On the other hand, the influx of international students has been very beneficial and profitable to the government, colleges, Indian business owners, and Indian homeowners. The government is making billions in fees and taxes, Colleges are making billions in tuition fees, Indian business owners are getting cheap labor, and they are selling LMIs for thousands of dollars each. Indian landlords are renting their basements by the bed and raking in thousands each month.

Problem is much more deeper than we think it is. Looks like Punjab & Punjabis have lost the way. The wave emigration from Punjab is worse than people fleeing from warzone. Most of us are labourers and spend whole life in anticipation of making it big. The owners of lands are Drowned in debt, the western mesmerization has killed the soul of Punjabis. If one has not been emigrated from Punjab is considered a low status person now, its not about jobs, visas or pr’s. The slave mindset we have got now is taking all of us intellectual bankruptcy ( if we have one)
Another issue with young Punjabi is they have got such overconfidence that it have become arrogance now, there will be many cursing the speaker in comments to prove my words.
The reason why I see it's punjabi students then transitioning into pgwp holders is because, unfortunately, punjab is not a very sufficticated state where there is any or much need of civilised discipline. The state in history is very much based on humble grounds through religion, but that would be for those who chose to inherit those teachings and follow such discipline. Seeing from experience, there is a norm of members or people not talking to each other or addressing each other with a normal level of respect. If you watch movies or series which have seen of 'bihari people talking to each other with a not so respectable manner' , that to can been seen in the typical punjabi culture. Although they would pay more attention to how to speak to others not so closely known to them. This is a general practice seen in punjab.
Unfortunately, people from punjab think and say, that children from western countries are not so "chalak" meaning sharp in mischievous kind of ways. They have somehow always felt a sense of pride in saying this. However, it is the very same mentality that makes them a target of low standards and uneducated people in the western countries because their so called "chalak", and none disciplined characters/mentalities do not provide much contribution towards the living standards and behaviors in western countries.
In their pride and ego, they find themselves to be much more overconfident than should need to be or required. Another big part of their culture is that they expect a lot from others. They have been bought up traditionally to be obliged to do things for others. Hence, bring the same mentality here, but have no knowledge or sense of awareness of following rules and regulations or using common curtucey manners in general.
