The so-called threat is just a tactic used by the West to scare away countries from having bilateral ties with China, that's all. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's disheartening to see politicians on both sides manipulating people for their own gain. We're witnessing politicians fighting for ideologies they don't fully comprehend, and as a result, they only seek to benefit from the West or East. Ultimately, it's the ordinary Solomon Islanders who always bear the brunt.

Daniel Suidani is the worst Premier Malaita Province has ever had.
As a Malaitan, I am really ashamed of his ego games with little knowledge of geopolitics; let alone having an updated knowledge about the happenings across the global political spectrum. What a shame.😢

I think its about time China steps in. China has never declared war with another country. China has been through 4 Revolution and the trade China is going through every "Least Developed Countries" should have a chance to work closely with China. China has done dramatic development that should have been done long time ago. After Solomon Islands gained Independence 1978 from the British Colonial government most of the national security was still in the hands of the former colonial rulers. China can built NEW Roads and stadiums. That is something our former colonial powers failed to do. China can help develop a country to its "full capacity". Our former colonial powers were only acting on their national interests and some of our Melanesian Countries grew "very slowly" over decades. China is a hope for many Least Developed Countries that have been struggling to walk on their own two feet for many decades. Off course we can say that China is acting like the "Dragon" but it doesn't mean it will put a threat on a world stage. China is also a member of the 5 Security Councils of the UN, so China cannot declared war yet in this generation because it will violate UN Laws. The former allies of Solomon Island like Australia should come out clear and let China develop Solomon Islands. Our Melanesian Islands are scattered and it will be very expensive for allies like Australia to develop it. Take the example of Tuvalu where the Australian Funded project of developing a NEW land has come to a halt because there is no more money. China has the money to develop Solomon Islands whereas Australia does not have that money. We all should be glad that if China helps us you can transport your cargo from the wharf straight to your home, whereas before you had to walk on foot just to transport you cargo, something of which our former allies have failed to do. With the NEW stadium our athletes can compete on an international standard, over the years our athletes could not be exported to international markets because our facilities were poorly funded by our allies. China has opened the door for us, Australia has closed many doors. In Vanuatu many athletes are now competing internationally as a result of the development China has made over the past decades. Still there is no war. Australia should stop miss-leading us when they are not pushing us to develop to our full capacity. All we see is Australian products and Australian interests and there is no "competition" in the market because the whites have ruled over us for many years. China will help us export, we should be glad that China has taken a sacrifice to expands its influence. If people want to vote out Manasseh Sogavare then that is their legal right but let China develop our islands. We have been waiting for development for many years. Let China play its card and then we will take it from there...

@@santaclaus946 political freedom is antithetical to economic development. Russia and china have shown that even their economic development can thrive and surpass freedom and democracy in western countries.

Australia is Solomon closest ally in the Asia Pacific region. Australia has supported Solomon with law enforcement, security and help boost economic wealth through setting up tourism awareness, businesses and provide aids. Through this partnership Solomon citizens have enjoyed prosperity and Australia generosity help to build their infrastructure i.e road, electricity Hopefully the citizens maintain their sovereign right by choosing the right government.
