We solomon islander support china's developing solomon islands not building military base like USA did in many countries around the world.

If you are a country aspiring to develop the infrastructures, economic development so people can have jobs and stable income, Stay with China.
Switch to US and you will only get empty promises. They say one thing and does another. Take Philippines for example, it has been allied with the US for hundreds of years and yet it is still a 3rd world country. The people still struggles to make ends meet.
So i hope the people of Solomon will make the right choices for the betterment of having progressive future for their beloved country. ✌️

CNA, can you report what the West and Australia had contributed to Solomon Islands over the years?
It will be responsible reporting to share foreign contributions that benefit the country

When the U$A says they want to help you by building infrastructure in your country, they don't mean hospitals, roads, schools, etc.
    They mean military bases.

Leaders of strategic U.S.-allied Pacific Island nations have become increasingly anxious about the U.S. congressional budget impasse that has delayed approval of vital new funding packages and warned that China is actively seeking to shift their allegiances, including over Taiwan.
The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), the Marshall Islands (RMI) and Palau agreed to new 20-year funding programs with the United States last year under which Washington provides economic assistance, while gaining exclusive military access to strategic swaths of the Pacific that China covets.
But despite bipartisan support for the new programs, known as Compacts of Free Association, or COFAs, the funding has yet to be approved by Congress months later, even though the additional amount currently needed is a relatively small $2.3 billion.
