5:20 Hi! Med student here. Just to clear up AB+ Blood type can receive from (A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, O-, AB+, AB-) any blood type, but AB- can receive only from negative blood types (A-, B-, O-, AB-).

Just wanted to get the facts straight. At about 5:10 they said that blood A cannot donate to blood AB, but that is in fact not true. Blood type AB is the universal recipient, meaning that it can receive blood donations from any blood type. So, she could actually have received a blood donation from anyone. A much more factual one would be that she is blood type B, which can only receive B or O blood (both of which are very rare).

Unless the husband has power of attorney, I don’t think he can refuse a doctor on his wife’s behalf. She wanted the surgery and was fine with the original doctor.

I once saw this kind of thing happen to a doctor and a nurse in a hospital. A hospitalized man refused to be treated by them because they were black. As it was a particular and expensive hospital, another doctor and nurse, both white, were called. Sad to see this sort of thing still happen in the world.

This was an inspiring story. The actor that played the racist husband is a superior actor and portrayed the role so well, he deserves an acting reward. It is rare for an antagonist actor to be able to have an episode turn on his performance as this story did. He was a racist, but he deeply loved his wife. At least the character decided to learn a life lesson from this all. Kudos to the DramatizeMe writing crew, production team and all the actors of this great episode -- Loved It!

Don’t judge a doctor by his skin color. Saving lives is more important than skin color
Nailed it, my life was saved from exactly this, appendicitis, by a black doctor and an Indian surgeon when I was young. Does their skin color matter? No Im alive today because of them. My experiences in life honestly make me want a doctor with an accent or different ethnicity because I know they worked hard to get to where they are.
Though it's a year ago I loved to watch videos from DramatizedMe. A moral lesson to a fool racist man it's good his wife survived nevertheless he will regret it until the rest of his life the good thing was he learned to accept the reality of his mistake, great video I appreciate it very much tnx from the Philippines with love 😊

Just, I'm not a scientist or doctor but, aren't a person with AB blood type could have a A blood type transfusion ? I mean, they aren't talking about AB- and A+ blood types, which would be incompatible... But no matter, this story is great ( unfortunately true, such as men who do not accept to be examined by women doctors )
Yes, you are right. I go to med school and I know type AB blood can receive any blood type transfusion.
That's correct. I'm no doctor, but I used to be a blood donor and I remember all the compatibilities.
AB+ is the universal blood type receiver, while 0- is the universal blood type donor, meaning people with this blood type can only receive a blood transfusion from a 0- .
So yes, a 0- blood type would have been more accurate for the video.

Am really thankful that the doctor didn't make her husband word's get to his head to gave his wife a donation of his blood. To be honest if I was his wife I would of divorce him for putting my life in danger only, because of his recasim against skin complications. Ever deserves equality, we are humans. We are not the one that chooses the way how to born or choose or skin complications, or the kind of family types. Am really glad that he learn his lesson at the end, and the doctor are willing to forgive him for his rude behavior. That doctor got a good heart indeed, not everyone would of forgive him for his behaviors, and umilations. We need more kindhearted people's in this world like that doctor.🤝❤️🤗💕😊

Prior to her passing out, if she had just said it was her choice to go to surgery and not wait, they should have listened to her, not the husband. I think it only came into play when she became unconscious.
