    Regarding models joining units that appear stronger solo, here are situations where it might be desired:
    You get 4 activations per turn. Characters in units share that activation. They also can act as ablative shields as the character approaches, with all wounds going to the unit. Using Alborc in a unit of Orc Hunters means that you don't lose their ability to activate after the first fight they lose (MOR goes to 2), or you can stress them to hold their ground, or more easily double-activate them.
    Yes, Alborc likely wants to be outside of a unit, but starting in a unit, moving up the board, then leaving the unit to make a charge. Maybe not useful for the middle objective, but if you plan to send Alborc and an escort after an opponent's objective, it may be worthwhile.

      @@TylerProvickall very good points and reasoning why you might well put Alborc into a unit. It’s going to come down to activation efficiency and survivability as to whether you put them characters in units sometimes.
      I believe the current scenarios listed in the online rulebook have 5 turns, with fog of war only having 4 turns. And in that scenario I think you will be loading all your characters into units that can join them as you try to stay ahead of the fog and survive the enemy as well.
      Thanks for the detailed look at why characters would want to join units, even if their own buff to them is slight.

      @@taylordurost246 I have managed to play it now and I really like it. I really want the Beyond sets to be able to play with bigger armies. Cannot wait to be able to get a 250 point army together.

    I have the big box on pre-order and I’m eagerly awaiting release date. These guys look great, but honestly, the hegemony are going to be my go to.

      @@SuperEagle112 my play style tends to lean toward Hegemony, but both of the armies have been fun to play with. Really looking forward to expanding on the box and having some bigger games now.

      @@ZombieSashimi if we are keeping it 100 I’m truly looking forward to the dwarves. Blunderbuss/pickaxes? Sign me the heck up. Also I’ll have trouble skipping over the wood elves. They are my true weakness.

      @@SuperEagle112 The Hegemony dwarves look great. The Wood Elves look really aggressive as well. I like the design choice they went for, but I will most likely be making the Scions a third army for myself. Will have to see as more is released.

    I'm realising they already have built in sectorials.
    Also- there might be scenarios where you'd want to keep your commander alive. in those cases having Alborc join units makes sense as ablative wounds.

      @ZombieSashimi  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It also just came to me that units can act as transport for characters to break off of later. Rather than wasting your activations, you can move the unit and character with single activations and separate later.

      @@ZombieSashimi Also very true! Order efficiency is just as if not more important than in Infinity. though "No man left behind" does exist?

    • @ZombieSashimi
      @ZombieSashimi  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LARPBeard it does indeed exist. It is going to be interesting to see the strategies that evolve as people play. I feel the barrier to entry is a lot lower than Infinity, but the depth is still there. Just want to play bigger games with more units to try it out at this point 😂

    In the case of wisemane, what is the meaning of that little lightning symbol plus red dice, exclamation, that appears at the definition of the attack and defence rolls?
    I will add that the naming and spelling of corvus Belli is very clearly Spanish-influenced, which to me sounds just exotic and weird in a great way.

    • @ZombieSashimi
      @ZombieSashimi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The lightning symbol means that he will have to take one stress token to add the additional die and symbol as part of his roll.
      I think that because Corvus Belli are Spanish, it does make their games unique in a way they are approached culturally, which also helps in making them very unique in both how they play and the way the lore is written.

    A couple minutes in and you mentioned the move speed on the orc hunters. Aren’t the bases larger than the Hegemony models.

    • @ZombieSashimi
      @ZombieSashimi  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@williammurteyjr.5073 no. They are the same size. Hegemony have the faster move, but orcs have the faster charge.
