Another good-looker. In fact, I like what is in it including the buttons. Only the price is all Subaru. Nothing like BYD. Therefore, I consider it a loser comparing it to the Seal. Or even The ATTO 3. Call it the Chinese influence on me. Tesla even without buttons, is beating it too. But it is good to have it in the market. The more, the merrier. And it is nice to have a choice. Greetings.
Yeah it looks OK but not those buttons or the fingerprint magnet black! And the price - woah thats $10K more than the Tesla - maybe its the cost of buttons nowadays lol
A friend of mine is a Subaru lover, and I think he'd like it as the Tesla touch screen turns him off. Some older drivers are scared of moving to EVs as they are so different. This car might be a middle ground for them?
Us older - well Im in my 70s now and have had EVs for over 5 years since I retired. Im not the exception either - Ive met a LOT of us oldies in EVs but I suppose that the general sentiment is oldies are old school tech
EVs aren't much different to drive, just different in how to put in go-juice. If you can charge at home, they're much cheaper to run. Teslas have one center console screen for all information because it's cheaper to manufacture, not because it 's better. All other EVs I'm aware of have the usual array of buttons, levers and knobs for all the usual controls, and a screen in front of the driver for the information the driver needs to see at a glance. The center console is for a map, audio controls, climate controls readout, and some information about efficiency and charging details.
With the charge port on the front left. Wont it block a charging bay at Tesla superchargers? Needs to be front right or rear left for best compatibility?
I did manage to charge my Chevrolet Bolt at a Tesla charger today, charge port in the same place, but the Bolt has a much shorter bonnet. Even then it was a tight squeeze. This Subaru would have to get the charger on the far left end and come at it side on. I also tried a Chargepoint charger, cables on those were much more accommodating, and there was a Toyota bZ4X there. Never seen one in the flesh before, I thought that gave it an awful cryptic codename so nobody would buy one.
just for curiosity, when you mentioned the top speed, can you drive legally at 160kmh in WA? I had a Subaru decades ago when I lived in Brisbane, a station wagon. It was great and I found out how good it was when a newly arrived Asian driver coming the other way in a suburban side street, driving his late model falcon got confused with all the cars parked higgldy piggldy on each side of the road, and hit me head on. I had stopped by then and pulled over to the left as much as possible, as I could see the look on his face and what was about to happen. The moral of the story is this, the front wheel of the falcon broke off and ended up under the drivers seat, meanwhile my Subi' could be driven away, because in those days there was actually two skins on the front fender area. This outer skin took the impact. The other driver was very apologetic and so on, so had no probs with the insurance. He had to get a tow truck, but I drove home - slowly. I have no doubt that unfortunately this type of construction is very much lost in the past.
Not a bad effort for Subaru's first effort. Wouldn't have done it without Toyota who are now laggards themselves. Agree with the piano black and too many buttons, but would draw the line at no buttons.
Gosh the rear floor mates look terrible as your feet just push them under the seat. The screen and dash layout is pretty average to poor in my view. For A$75,000 it,s way over priced and not that roomy.
There's no such thing as "Legacy Auto", all companies are making EVs these days. The cars are fine. Also they have the advantage of not being owned by Musk.

Interesting ground clearance. OK to take on the Indian-Pacific train. Alas, Tesla 3 is too little clearance to go on train.
Didnt know that. Thanks
Tesla warranty is 4 years for the car and 8 years for the battery and drive train.

Teslas port is left back so you are right and I am wrong

Yeah speed limit in WA is a maximum of 110kph

Ok you can have 2 ;-)
Prices are ridiculous. We need more affordable evs from China.
Who is we? Sounds like you’re a bot
Way to expensive, can buy 2 MG4 64's for one of this.
agreed
