Excellent video Alvin. You and your friends obviously had a great time on the river. Well done, well edited, beautiful scenery and fun footage to watch. God Bless and Tight Lines, Anthony Hipps
Happy Thanksgiving Alvin 🦃 Nice trip and video. Thanks a lot. I can’t say how relieved I was after the rains, to see our local rivers and creeks flowing again. It was getting very depressing watching them dry up into puddles. Have a great weekend bud. 👍🎣👌
I have been fishing that stretch for 30 years. The fish that survived here survived on account of the flow of the South Fork. Much of the North Fork was a 100% fish kill.
Had a favorite bass pond with 5 and 6 lb largemouth but last summer was so hot and dry the pond became a puddle and killed most of the fish save a few bluegills. It's a bummer but there's still grapevine lake and a number of other ponds and creeks still putting out plenty of fish
I’m on the West Coast and chase mainly trout/steelhead and salmon. Our fish have been decimated by many factors but Chinese offshore poachers are my main upset! Fortunately I’ve caught a lot of big fish but have not broke 20 pounds on a steelhead. I’ve caught few bass. I never met fish any longer, release them in the water by grabbing the barbless hook with my hemostat with the fish twisting off easily. I enjoyed the heck out of your bass catching escapades and white water adventures! Tight lines!
Alvin i live in bastrop and im having trouble catching anything over 12" in the river. There here but they are hard to get. I have kayak and have heard webberville is one of the best stretches of the natural river past the dams. Is it night and day like im shallow and its deeper west of me toward austin?
Don't get me wrong love catching spotted and quads. Not got a largemouth yet and that's fine they fish differently and I used to allways go for largemouth so it took some getting used too that the fish seem to roam more. Are guads and spots concidered smallmouth
According to all the research Texas Parks and Wildlife has done over the years, there are no spotted bass in the Colorado until you get way downstream. Downstream of Columbus I think. Guadalupe bass are a subspecies of the spotted bass though. They will cross breed with a smallmouth but they are a different species.
Not that often, a 4 pounder like the one Blaine caught is like catching an 8 pounder in the lakes. World record on the Guadalupe Bass is a little smaller than 3 1/2 pounds.
We were pleasantly surprised!
Fun to watch as always. Thanks for good content!
Thanks for watching!
Looks like an amazing day on the water! 😊
It was!

Awesome, thank you!
Alvin! I haven’t seen your face since you lived off Barton Springs! I just stumbled across your channel. Glad you’re doing well!!

I was having the same feelings. Hopefully this trend keeps going.
That was one of the best fishing videos
Glad you enjoyed it

Yeah, glad the guy who wanted to build a dam on the South Fork got shut down.
Live on the llano and fly fishing is great and it looks like your fishing in front of our ranch.

Love it when the gamble pays off. Cool float.
Yeah man it went a lot better than we thought.

Im seeing more guads and largemouths in the same area...not as many smallies post trough. Great vid as always
This guy - purveyor of the good vibes. Good times!
Thank you!
I think I recognize your face from Das Boat on Meateater! Enjoyed the vid.
Thanks for watching!
I love my river on it 5 times a week since rivers been up
Fun video! I’m curious why y’all remove the Aire(or Outcast?) Branding from the rubber on your boats?
Mine fell off. Not sure about Bonner and Cassio's rafts. They have seen a lot of miles.
The patch on mine fell off after 5 years. Aire did a factory refurb and glued on a much more subtle patch. Love my Aire!
What size hook were you using for the fly? I know some folks use size six for Guadalupe bass
yoo brother what camera and lens are you rocking ??
I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, my friend!
Thanks! You too!

Do the largemouth not grow very big in the river ?

Guads swim into aquifers or springs
They went somewhere, and I'm glad.
