      Perfect. I would add a dash of cayenne, some cardamom and cumin and instead of water, use the liquid that the can of chickpeas comes in.

    While on keto for 5 years my muscle mass was flat. I changed to 40% healthy carbs mainly lentils, beans, berries, kiwi and potatoes 40% protein mainly from beef and whey protein and 20% fats. These macros recomped my muscles mass and improved my mood, sleep and competitive running. Getting out of the keto cult I now enjoy food again. This was my experience as a 64 year competitive runner and lifter

      The key for me in staying lean is that I greatly reduced my saturated fat intake while I increased carbs. I maintain leanness but cutting sat fat. I still get mono fats but I have learned that excess sat fat with carb causes the gridlock. Try lowering sat fat

    People get bloated on bread due to indigestable complex carbohydrates. Eating sourdough bread by your own admission increases resistant starch(complex carbohydrate) and, therefore, would make it even harder to digest. Having something indigestable that feeds bacteria is what causes the gas and bloating as it never breaks down that carbohydrate. The ONLY thing that can feed good bacteria and be digested by those bacteria is soluble fiber. The entire point of fermenting foods high in indigestable insoluble fiber and complex carbs such as kimchi, sourkraut, yogurt, bread, natto etc prior to ingestion is because those foods are naturally indigestable in the body and fermentation is a poor attempt at making food humans aren't meant to eat into something slightly more digestible than in it's natural state.

    • @fallguy6196
      @fallguy6196 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So your saying Kim chi and sauerkraut and yogurt is bad for your gut ?

    • @alejandroleyva8606
      @alejandroleyva8606 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I went carnivore for several months and it was more bad than good to me. I did have some positive changes I liked but the electrolytes imbalances caused very low libido, crazy heart palpitations, weakness. Couldn’t sleep, muscle cramps. No matter what I did, followed everyone’s recommendations, it didn’t help. Adding those carbs made a huge difference sleep and energy wise. Carnivore is not for everyone

    • @travz21
      @travz21 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not to mention sourdough is just fucking abysmal bread. Crust as hard as a rock, cuts your mouth, takes forever to eat, not much soft bread to actually eat. Like just eat something natural that actually tastes good if you want carbs.

    • @ChappySinclair
      @ChappySinclair 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @fallguy6196 cabbage is indigestable roughage mostly in the form of insoluble fiber. It's fermented to make it easier to digest. Roughage can indeed be bad for the gut. Dairy like yogurt is easily fermented naturally due to lactose. Let it ferment long enough and all the good bacteria will eat all the sugar(lactose). For folks lactose intolerant that can be extremely beneficial. That's why people do well with dairy fermentation more so because it actually gets rid of what most ppl have issues with when it comes to dairy. The problem ppl have with cabbage isn't removed through fermentation so it can still be problematic. Of course if certain dairy proteins are your issue with dairy then you may not do well with it. I personally make my own 24hr yogurt and do well with it.

    • @ChappySinclair
      @ChappySinclair 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @alejandroleyva8606 Sorry to hear that. You definitely had the common negative responses to carnivore. I personally get my carbs from bananas, blueberries and Squashes. The best diet is definitely subjective. Glad you are doing better.

    I'm curious why do you use whey? I just started taking protein shakes to up my protein, but started out with one that gets it from whole food proteins (beef isolate, pea, brown rice, chicken, egg, and salmon). It's still low carb too and low in fat. Like I said I don't know much about all the different protein shakes, but I imagined whole food protein would absorb right? MRE Lite is what my bro turned me into. I'd be curious on your thoughts on it or if I should switch. I also scoop my protein into it to mix it and take all in one shot.

    • @qT_p13
      @qT_p13 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Whey is a waste product from cheese manufacturing. It is a milk byproduct, and thus is made from a whole food source. You can use whey instead of say a beef protein, it's cheap and as an animal based protein is very bio-available, much more so than vegetable based protein powders.
      I would also say that as for a powdered beef, chicken, etc... bear in mind that companies are interested in making max profit by using the cheapest/owest quality ingredients...as in, they're probably the parts of the cow you wouldnt normally eat. Sure whey is basically yellow, watery acid and thrown down the drain, but it still comes directly from the milk.

    I keep hearing concerns around processed meats and cancer risk. I guess most lunch meats are smoked, which does raise risks of cancer. What is it in particular that raises cancer risk? Sure, the nitrates. Should I be looking at Costco's Kirkland Dark Forest Ham (cane sugar, sea salt, vinegar) in the same light as, say, salami, balogna, or hot dogs?

      All meat would've been lean back then. Only domesticated animals are fatty. The difference is they ate the bone marrow and organs, which are high in fat. With just muscle meat, they would've suffered from mal de caribou. People like chaffee saying eat fatty beef because we evolved eating megafauna and they were fatty is bs. We have megafauna that aren't extinct and they're all lean meat animals. Eat wild game meat and the marrow and organs of those animals. Not some fat ass domesticated animal that didn't exist for 90% of humanity.

      Most of my sponsors are food. And frankly, sponsor or not, the video performs the same. So makes sense to have a sponsor on a video. Most of them are just pre rolls in the first couple minutes of a video. Shame on me for knowing how to run a successful business while still providing value to my viewers. You kinda sound whiney bro

      @ThomasDeLauerOfficial Obviously you can run a business Thomas! This i don't deny. And my post isn't hate. But everytime i watch your videos, i'm like mmh interesting! Until the moment you place your partnership! Don't get me wrong, i know these partnerships are an important source of income but is it mandatory every single video contains one!? And you can tell all you want about the fact you take every single products presented in your vids. I mean, i'm sure you take products but not all the brands you pretend to take. It is mathematically impossible! How many videos you got on your channel?? Hundreds, thousands! Common man, give me a break!

      We have about 8-10 repeat sponsors. Most brands purchase a few placements per month. That’s definitely possible dude

      No. Same diet, same exercise. Cardio and weight training.
      It's the same regardless of sex and works regardless of sex.
      Just don't buy the supplements he advertises. A good multivitamin, extra magnesium, potassium and sodium and protein and vegetables, you'll be fine

      I'm 64 and into longevity. I do a combination of;
      - joint rotation exercises daily, 5 minutes, and people I share this with notice after a month they feel much stronger. I believe activating the joints encourages regeneration. Also you'll notice the warmth in them.
      - add to that mild strength exercises.
      - The balancing muscles are important as well. Standing on one leg while doing various exercises seems to help that.
      - lastly ankle strengthening exercises.
      These don't take much time, and leave people feeling much stronger and more stable. Basically I work the areas that long term become problems for people and for mobility.

      @almagarcia You should lift weights 2-3 times a week to build/maintain strength/muscle. Doesn’t have to be heavy and start light if you're new to it. And consume about 1 gram of protein per body weight per day.

    Too much muscle is damn dangerous!!! Tons of problems when you get older.

      Only people on ped's have to much muscle and it becomes dangerous, Your comment makes no sense for 99% of the population. Our bodies can and will only build as much muscle as it's predetermined genetically and only as much as our bodies need . Your comment is just someone telling themselves to be lazy and not workout.
