this reminded me of how expensive everything’s gonna be especially when you have to buy everything yourself 🤕
You can definitely bargain shop! I was so worried about having to buy everything. I spent around 400 including buying the mini fridge. I know it’s not cheap but there are somethings that are definitely not necessary for everyone like extra furniture.
I totally understand. I suggest making a registry, and even if only 4 things are bought off of it, that’s $$ you don’t have to spend, and makes life a lot better.
same that’s why i’ve been buying stuff little by little along the way I started in May just picking little things up along the way and i leave in September
Fatima Espin I paid for everything myself too!! I shopped exclusively at target (lol not on purpose) and i think i only spent a little over $200
I bought everything little by little as well. I started in April and now all I need are the little things like towels or shower shoes.
Was a freshman last year. Idk about y’all but sometimes tide pods weren’t my fav. they would get stuck in the opening of the washing machine or it wouldn’t melt. Also my clothes don’t smell as good compared to at home cause the dryer makes everything smell like burnt clothes lol. So if ur dorm doesn’t have an elevator, I think tide pods are for u cause they are convenient. But if u have an elevator, find a wheel hamper and you can carry the detergent and softener with little effort!
Put the pods into the washer with your clothes not the little drawer.

I’m a junior in college, and I recommend getting a storage unit to put your dorm stuff in, just in case you guys end up leaving campus before the semester is over

this is the first like mostly reasonable dorm haul that I've seen, a bit much on the pillows and plants but other than that this is pretty good to go off of. i def suggest getting a big fan if you have a dorm that doesn't have AC because it saved me (for hot places that is)

I'm going into my junior year of college this following school year and I wish I was this prepared when I was a freshman. Really impressed with all the stuff you have bought and honestly you will most likely be using all of it. Like watching these type of videos just for fun even though I don't need to buy any of it but it's nice to see some cute decor!

Omg you’re so lucky that you can buy all this for your dorm. My college is in india and is the best engineering institute in the country and we are not allowed any of this. Also I have to share my room with 2 more people. Btw have a great year at Belmont university

im moving into my dorm around sept 4 and i love this video!! also i recommend getting a mesh caddy because i heard that the plastic ones grow mold over time (the mesh one u can just hang up and dry) but i love this vid sooo much

Future tip: Tide pods are bad for the environment and for the dryer, I recommend the detergent that you can pour in a cup or pump out with a spout 🙃

I don't know why I'm watching, cause I'm German, we don't even really have dorms like in the US, and I'm in my last year of college and living with my parents, BUT what baffled my were the container sizes. Like when you said "I got this small thing of dish soap".. For me, that is a regular sized bottle. Small in Germany would be like the size of your hand sanitizer bottle or smth 😅

@@lucylucky9430 This is my first year, but I don't think it will be super difficult for me because I tend to be super friendly! The hardest thing is probably going to be enforcing the no visitation rule that our college is doing rn :/ & it will probably be a bit difficult to adapt to having zoom floor meetings but I'm sure it will be a blast! There is also a good amount of paperwork especially for freshmen RA's :) But honestly all RA's I know at BU right now are super chill & caring so it'll be a good year even with all the paper work lol
Lizzie Wilson awe thank you so much for replying. I wonder if upperclassmen who never stayed in the dorms could have any chances to become RA. Honestly, I really wanted to live on campus to see the hype. But financially, I can’t :(

I dormed my freshman year of college and absolutely hated it and I don’t know why I watch these because I’m a commuter but I guess it’s still fun anyway😂😂😂

I’m really hoping my college puts me in the dorm I want, especially now since they’re changing the quads to doubles, which means more space for me and my roommate 🤪
Got one of the worst dorms on my campus, but the night I assigned my dorm it filled up. So, now I'm happy I at least got a dorm haha

Pleaseee talk about how you're going to do long distance in college...my boyfriend and i are planning the same thing but i'd love to know how you guys are planning to do it or any tips
I did it last year, and communication was KEY! Communicate about how you’re feeling, and if you feel something isn’t working.
Currently doin that, and I think being involved in each other’s lives as much as possible is important. Such as communication and letting each other know how you feel.
Make sure you guys have a great foundation of communication and honesty, these are key in any relationship but even more so in a ldr! Also, make sure to set a time everyday, besides from talking to each other throughout, to catch up on each others day, feelings, and etc. My boyfriend and I make sure to video call every night and this has really helped us! And make sure you guys communicate on everything! Especially if you feel like there's an issue or if there is something on your mind. Don't be too afraid of hurting your significant other's feeling about these feelings or thoughts as it hurts more if you keep it in and let it boil, I found that its best to get it out of the way immediately! I wish you guys the best and don't listen to anyone else saying that long distance doesn't work because it definitely does with the right foundation and mind set :)
I only saw my boyf every other weekend and sometimes longer and that was when I could have overnight guests at school. This year will be tough. We FaceTimed several times a day when we could and consistently communicated to have the same sort of feeling as if he was next to me!

Hey🥰! I really loved the video, but I was just curious on how you and your roommate decided to like split up buying cleaning supplies and other shared stuff, like did y’all decide to bring 2 paper towel rolls each to split it or did y’all split it up another way?
I would recommend creating a list of supplies you and your roommates will need and putting it on a shared google doc account! That way everyone can fill in what they will be bringing and people will see what is still needed :)

Fatima Ibrahim well basically in England when you’re 16 you go into sixth form/college for 2 years but it’s not the same as American college. You get an A level qualification not a degree. Then afterwards you can start work or go to university to get a degree

Hey current Belmont sophomore here! you actually cant have extension cords in the dorms.. we are only allowed, surge protectors!! I would definitely just get a bunch of surge protectors with long cords I got a 15ft one from amazon!

you definitely dont want to take too much, especially if you have a roommate. dorm rooms are smaller than they seem lol

Yes, but it depends on the school.
many smaller private schools are, its really case by case. all of the school in my state are going back but places in other parts of the US like california have different plans

hey girl i just graduated from belmont and the toilet paper they provide is HORRIBLE. most people generally just buy their own and take turns with roommates buying it!
