Worked there when the plant was preparing to start up. I setup and tested the steam turbine that powered the feed water pump for the boiler. Drove by there years later and saw that it was gone.Good to hear the reason it was abandoned
@@j-masshey love your videos I found some places to explore 19 Marblehead st north reading mass it’s abounded there’s cars in the driveway but it’s 100 percent abounded I want to explore it it fully furnished looking threw the windows of the place it’s falling apart the neighbors park in the driveway way there’s usually a gold Audi wagon a white Suzuki mini truck and a Lexus there usually up in the parking lot its abounded tho the deck is falling apart it was built in 1988 it’s been for closed for 14 years I can’t find much info there’s the address if you want to explore it looks like a cool place and and theres another house …….. it’s on acorn street in Middleton ma no info at all don’t even know the address and there’s another abounded house abt a half a mile away up the street from this one sorry I got it wrong it’s in north reading sorry love to see it explored
A very cool video as always!! I think Turners fall is a very interesting location to explore. I never knew about this site, and I'm glad you were able to explore and capture it before it gets repurposed. That coal silo is amazing, I'm glad they are going to leave that standing in the future. And I know the cold you're talking about - it's been bone chilling around here the last few days. Have a happy, safe and Merry Christmas J-Mass,as well as all of your fans and supporters!! Cheers!
Thank you so much, I truly appreciated your support throughout 2024! Turners Falls is such a cool little historic village-there is so much to see here! I’m excited to cover it more in-depth whenever I get around to my Montague town review! And same here, I’m excited to see what artwork that coal silo will display!
Very cool video and sick graffiti in the area. I think you can go up see the tunnel/flooded part if you take the ladder from the bottom of the silo, as seen in 8:14. Happy New Year, J-MASS!
Thanks a ton! In my opinion, history is the most fascinating part of urban exploration! So many forgotten historical footnotes that can be discovered while investigating these abandoned sites!
@ ofc man. I found your Keddy mill video and actually went there. I’m from Maine. It was an amazing place to explore. I’m looking for some more cool spots to check out w my friends while there on break from college. What would you reccomend we check out?
That’s awesome! What’d you think of Keddy Mill? I thought it was a cool spot, and I’d love to go back sometime! Unfortunately, I don’t know too many abandoned locations in Maine-I wish I did, but it’s such a vast state with not too many locations well-documented. One spot I definitely would recommend, if you ever get the chance, is Fort Gorges in Portland. You need a boat to get there, but it’s an abandoned military fort on an isolated island in the Casco Bay. Such a dope spot! I have a video there, too!
@ not just in Maine. Massachusetts I was thinking. I saw your vid on the insane asylum. What are some cool places like that? Also keddy mill was amazing. Took some cool pics there. But places that are cool to explore like that. Not just a single house. But big buildings or military bases and stuff.
i live right in town, you got some great footage esp the Drone footage 18:27 mark on the Gill side of the CT river the site of Capt Turners "Battle of the falls" attack on the Native Americans camp in 1676 during the final year of King Philip's War.
I liked the troll hair reveal at the beginning of the video. 😂 I'm surprised you didn't do your classic J-MASS echo sound check "yo, what's going on guys" inside the silo.
Hahaha you’re right, I forgot to do that! Damn! 😂 That would’ve been perfect… oh well, next time I find a room with worthy reverb, I’ll be sure to properly take advantage of the echo!
Hey J-Mass, always been intrigued with the way you explain things, that's kinda why I find you very unique from other people, (no hate to other hardworking creators ofc, only an observation). Are you by any chance a sales person or a person who presents things a lot, only because you talk so well, and repeat main points very well during the times in the videos where you describe face-to-face. I find it very admirable. I want to know how you talk like that, professional, a bit repetitve at times, but very professional.
Thank you so much, I truly appreciate the kind words and the observation! You are actually right on the money-I do work in sales! Specifically, in the realm of logistics. I also went to university for English, and did a lot of public speaking. I definitely have flaws-I often repeat things, and sometimes I stutter or say the wrong thing-but overall I try to be as clear and understandable in my presentation as possible!
j, let me suggest the farrell factory building in ansonia connecticut. it is in the stages of being torn down so time is important. it goes back to the water power days, it has its own hydro plant and water transportation on the naugatuk river. please go peak. best wishes.
Speaking of coal plants there’s a big abandoned one in somerset called montaup power station however when I was there I couldn’t find a way in but it’s documented on TH-cam if you were interested
Oh yep, I’m very familiar with that spot! I haven’t gone there myself yet as I’ve heard it’s been on strict lockdown lately (I believe some teenagers were climbing the chimneys), but I’d love to get over there someday! Thanks bro!
Dude I drove right passed this last week without knowing it was there…. I went to north adams for work and I remember driving passed that green bridge looking out at the river. Actually I went right passed the hoosac tunnel sign and I immediately remembered your video, thought to myself damn that monster is right below me. Such a sick area
Fr dude, Western Massachusetts is amazing! Yeah, that huge green bridge you passed spans over the Turners Falls Dam, and connects the towns of Gill and Montague. Very scenic views from that bridge! And the Hoosac Tunnel, of course, is a classic location!
sounds about right..... grounds contaminated by all sorts of industrial chemicals...... Big-brained town "Official" = "we're gonna turn that location into a public park!....eh?....eh?" everyone else =
my mistake, he had his first heart attack on stage in montague, pretty dramatic, but survived and came back long enough to perform and suffer another attack that killed him in minneapolis (from wikipedia)
@ not much to explore there though. When I was a kid turners had tons of abandoned buildings to explore, they seemed massive to us at the time. But almost all of them have been razed.
Worked there when the plant was preparing to start up. I setup and tested the steam turbine that powered the feed water pump for the boiler. Drove by there years later and saw that it was gone.Good to hear the reason it was abandoned
Whoa, that’s fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing this insight!

Finally had the time to sit with my cup of coffee and watch this. Very educational as always brother and amazing drone shots. What a spot!
Thanks bro! It’s a very unique location! Interesting history, too!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too J.
Happy Holidays, dude! 🎄
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ thanks for another great exploration Jason and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family 🎄✌️🇺🇲
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well, thank you for tuning in as always! 🎄 🎅 ❄️ 🎁
Loved this. I love how you give history also. Not a lot of urbex folks do that.

Ramage Paper Mill in Monroe, MA would be my top choice! Such a cool spot with so much to see and do, and very easy to access as well!
As always interesting and educational. Have a great new year j. Love and peace from Wolverhampton England
Thank you so much Robert! 🙌
Merry Christmas J Mass
Thank you, Merry Christmas to you, too! 🎄
I bet it is much better looking in the spring and summer. Good vid!
Thanks! And yes, this place is very cool to see with all of the summer foliage fully grown!
This was a cool ❄️ exploration! Happy holidays!
Thanks dude! Happy holidays to you as well! ⛄️

8:17 on the left wall there’s a ladder up.
Oops, I somehow missed that! Nice find-I’d be tempted to climb it!
Probably for graffiti artists

explore bellingham mass, there is old mill in woods there
Oh really? That sounds fascinating, I’ll definitely have to check that out!
Where in Bellingham is it?

I remember there’s a quarry in southwick on the Agawam town line, probably hasn’t been active in at least 25 years
Oh really? Fascinating, I’m not familiar with that spot! I’ll definitely have to look into it!
Nice job with the drone shots
Thanks a ton! 🙏

@@j-mass the French king hwy bridge is insane too
Love that bridge! Very nostalgic for me as well; I used to drive across it every summer as a kid!
J-MASS risked becoming the Toxic Avenger to make this video.
LOL with the amount of EPA-certified toxic locations I’ve visited on this channel, it’s only a matter of time before I get my super powers! 😂
Have a great Christmas!
Thank you, you as well! Merry Christmas!
Very cool J
Thanks bro! Very cool spot! 🙌
@@j-massagreed I liked it
Are you saying we are all getting coal in our Xmas stocking? Lol. Cold. Coal might be a good thing. Have a dope holiday.
Haha, I could use some coal after venturing out in 10 degree weather! I needed a bit to warm up after! 😂 Happy holidays man!
sounds about right..... grounds contaminated by all sorts of industrial chemicals......
Big-brained town "Official" = "we're gonna turn that location into a public park!....eh?....eh?"

This place was so fun before they kicked out all the skaters.
I believe tiny tim died on stage in montague. tiptoe through the tulips.
I read about that on Wikipedia while researching the town! Yeah, he had a severe heart attack while on stage in Montague.
my mistake, he had his first heart attack on stage in montague, pretty dramatic, but survived and came back long enough to perform and suffer another attack that killed him in minneapolis (from wikipedia)
I grew up in TF and live in greenfield now
Very nice! I love Greenfield, especially Poet’s Seat Tower!
@ not much to explore there though. When I was a kid turners had tons of abandoned buildings to explore, they seemed massive to us at the time. But almost all of them have been razed.
You as handsome as always J .
Hey you were in my neighborhood😎🤙
Haha nice! I love Turners Falls!
will all those old mills around - there has to be a good bottle dump in the vicinity...
Oh yeah, I bet! Must be hidden around there somewhere!
did you find any coal when you were there? lol
Lol I did not 😂 would have been in theme for Christmas, finding coal!
It didn’t last long, 1989- 1996.
Yeah, I noticed that as well-very short-lived! Which is especially interesting considering how long the nearby Strathmore Paper Mills were up for.
