This is a perfect example of someone who takes responsibility for their wrongs. He was dealing with a lot of personal battles and living in his own truth without fear of judgement. He apologized to her publicly and you can tell he’s terrified of releasing his truth. Holding back from what you are can make people do crazy things and say crazy things. Not an excuse, but at least he knows he was wrong. I see a guy with the right intentions, wrong execution on some parts. He means well. Good for him for owning up to his shit. May he and the women he hurt move forward in positivity from here on out. You can tell he always truly meant well.

My best guy friend in high school told me he was in love with me and asked me out. I felt something was off so said no. He was devastated, I felt horrible. A few months later he came to tell me he was gay. He said he loved me as a person and I was the only girl he could see himself with, if he couldn’t be with me, he had to face his truth.
I feel like this happened with Colton and Cassie. He connected with her on a deep friendship level and forced himself to believe he was in love with her. I think he knew if it didn’t work with her he couldn’t handle being with another woman and his truth would come out.
Now I am NOT excusing his stalking by saying this. That’s abusive behavior and I support Cassie and understand her pain and fear. But there was clearly something very off with Colton for him to hold on soo hard and this was it. I hope he really took the time to explain why he did what he did to her and apologized. I hope they both heal.

We were raised together, she was like a sister to me, our families knew each other, we went to prom together... She was captain of the women's swim team while I was captain of the men's... Congratulations to Colton! As a 72 year old gay, former educator, I know the trauma he is experiencing. When I came out at 13 in 1962, it was a tremendously hard decision. However, what made my transition to being my 'true' self were the words my beloved grandmother said when I told her and my mother...."Baby, remember, it's our job to raise you to be the man you're supposed to be, not the man we want you to be!" I, with the continued support of family, church, and community have led a happy, satisfied life. I've been with my husband for 26 years and this is something for which I will forever thank the family and extended family and community! I know Colton's father will continue to be his underpinning! These are not things that make you happy! I see him as a very confused individual. It’s almost like he hasn’t grown up and in his emotional mental state hasn’t completely connected and I think it’s ridiculous that he actually is on national TV exposing his feelings on what he’s doing in the bedroom and what his sexual preferences are. Money it’s all for the Almighty $$$!

We should be teaching our children on national TV how to do things, how to survive in this world how to grow vegetables, how to do some farming or gardening how to cook. Things that children need to learn and grow up and have good morals and values not about a guy that one minute he’s on some dating bachelor TV show seriously. I see him as an opportunist and money hungry confused man. He’s smiling because he’s with a new boyfriend that has millions and now he’s going to have a TV show and he’ll be making millions that’s why he’s smiling because money turns him on and attention from other people turn him on.

I honestly feel sorry for Cassie and her family along with all of these women that gave up their careers to be on Colton’s Underwood season of the Batchelor.
If he was struggling so much with his sexuality then why would he go on not just 1 but 3 reality dating shows that was televised for all the world to see!!! It just makes NO sense being a huge Batchelor fan myself.
But yeah it doesn’t sit well with me knowing he mislead all of these women and could of respected Cassie’s decision to leave the Batchelor franchise initially. But no he followed Cassie back to her home town and they dated after she gave him a 2nd chance. He then stalked her and sent her several threatening text messages after their relationship ended.
It makes no sense why a guy who knew that he is gay would go on a television show looking for a wife and then go onto to stalk his ex. It makes no sense why he would go on a show and date a whole bunch of women either knowing that he is isn’t attractive to anybody of the opposite sex.
It’s like these women choose to pack up their lives to presue a relationship with somebody who they thought was a genuine guy looking for marriage. These women have given up a lot since they have been subjected to wide variety of tests. They get NO contact with their family or the outside world. Heck some of them have also given up their jobs which is a real shame since they were ALL defrauded.
Plus you guys do know that several woman have been stalked and eventually killed by a ex partner or spouse of theirs. It’s like Cassie wouldn’t of pressed those charges if she felt she had NO other choice. Plus he even put a tracking device on Cassie’s vehicle which traumatised her to the point where she had to go down to the local authorities and get a restraining order against him.
So in reality she is the victim in all of this since she is probably dealing with a diagnosis of PTSD as we speak. Meanwhile Colton is getting interviewed left, right and centre by the press while Netflix is going to broadcast his life as a gay man which I don’t agree with.
Its like yeah I understand that Colton is gay but he could of avoided causing these women so much pain if he never went on not 1 but 3 reality dating shows looking for love exclusively with females🤷‍♀️

Stop lying, you mean bisexual. Gay is you have no sort of attraction to the opposite at all. Bisexual is you have an attraction to both. People are so confused about sexuality it makes no sense. I'm a heterosexual male who never experiences sexual attraction in women but need a connection with them first. Gay is you only like the same sex, not your open to being with someone of the opposite sex. Your gay and even you don't seem to know this shit. Just like a lesbian claiming she would date a man she finds attractive but is still lesbian. No, it's wrong lesbians wouldn't be with members of the opposite. Anybody claiming you can be homosexual and still be with members of the opposite sex are really ignorant to homosexuality. Homosexuality means you only like or only have attraction to someone of the same sex not you would consider it as an option to be with someone of the opposite sex.

I don't want this to sound like I'm justifying this behavior, and obviously I don't know this guy, but as a gay man who grew up suppressing his attractions in a Christian household driven by a deep fear of hell... I know what it's like to feel the madness/delusion of trying to make life liveable under threat of a future of celibacy and repression, or the punishment of death. While I didn't make decisions like Colton's I can see that he may have felt she was his only way out or solution to make life tolerable, and was in survival mode. Again... it does not excuse what he did, but for now I can only give him the benefit of the doubt knowing that dark prison of thoughts... he may turn out to be another entitled selfish young man, but at this point in time I'm seeing him as a human who made some very big mistakes under duress.

I am not gay,but have many friends who are gay,bi,trans....and I grew up being Catholic, but always accepted everyone as they were...I no longer consider myself Catholic,as there have been too many priests who have molested boys and girls, while preaching being "Holy"...you should NEVER be shamed for who you are...be PROUD of who you are,no matter what anyone says!

That being said I felt that something was a bit off in how much he kept talking about Cassie and how great their relationship was. I applaud him for being so brave and vulnerable while also acknowledging the awful pain and fear he caused Cassie. Stalking is NEVER okay in any form.
Also as a Christian I am so grateful that he is taking this bold step in sharing his story. Thousands of Christian LGBTQIA people will be impacted by their message and hopefully know that their maker and savior loves them more than anything.

Catholic (and Christian) theology does not say “being gay” (i.e., attracted to the same sex) is sinful. It says homosexual acts are not what God desires (i.e., sinful), just as any sexual activity outside of the intentionally permanent commitment of marriage is sinful because of the responsibility it entails. Prayer for anything (e.g., being freed from same-sex attraction, freedom from addiction, world peace) is not guaranteed a positive response, although sometimes healing does occur. We each have our own crosses to carry. Those called to single life, whether as a priest, nun, entrepreneur, etc., struggle with their own crosses, just as those who are straight and married, etc., have their own crosses to carry. But there are many gays who have found in God the strength to live celibately, just as there are many straight men who have found the strength in God to live chastely. Sexual morality is extremely difficult for us as animals, but that does not mean it is an impossible standard we ought not to strive after, again and again, and joyfully returning to the Lord with repentance for our failings. It is the anti-gospel to say affirmation of one’s every inclination is the way to healing or that not acknowledging any sin is the key to happiness or that accepting everything about myself as perfect is beatitude - that is all to live a delusional lie that eventually catches up to us. These are complicated issues and many people on all sides confuse them, unfortunately. God does love us infinitely regardless of what we do; yet, for His love to fill us, we cannot block His mercy by failing to turn to Him. The only unforgivable sin is the refusal to ask or accept forgiveness.

Don't forget that while he is getting a Netflix series, his ex-girlfriend Cassie is having to relive all the terror and abuse he did to her. I'm glad he's speaking his truth, but it does NOT excuse what he did to her. If he's truly sorry, donate some of that Netflix cash to a domestic abuse recovery center.

You can hear the tremble in his voice. To be able to speak his truth is such a beautiful thing. I've raised my kids to know they can love whoever their heart is drawn to and they don't have to "come out" if they don't want to, just as if they are straight they would just tell me about the person they are interested in they can do that regardless. Taking the fear of "coming out" out of the equation. No matter what I will ALWAYS love and support them!!! I've never understood parents disowning their children for any reason let alone for who they are attracted to and/or love. Just as people have preferences dating heavier set people or super tall people or whatever the attraction is. It's the same thing. You can't help that or change that, it is what it is, that's perfectly fine in my household and I will ALWAYS LOVE AND SUPPORT them NO MATTER WHAT, no matter who they love!!!

I understand where he’s coming from. Many gays I know did everything they could not to be gay. I almost ended my life a few times because of it. Sure his actions were bad, but at least he’s not coming out 20 years into his marriage with a woman. If you aren’t gay and closeted, you don’t know how hard it is, you would do anything to not be gay. I probably would have done the same. And he was in college and pro football, so that’s worst!
