- Searching with metal detectors for relics from the second World War in Norway! Relics left behind by German forces during battle or discarded off after the war. Maybe we will even find Hitler's lost gold..
We went high up the Norwegian mountains to search for an abandoned Fallschirmjäger (Elite German Paratrooper) outpost and we found it!
We had some great finds but the cherry on top was a very special ring my Norwegian friend 'Viking Jan' found. Something I have never seen found before!
Jan is trying to set up a TH-cam channel, please do me a favor and go subscribe to his channel.

FAQ:
-Do you report your finds to the authorities?
Yes, all nasty things found like UXO's and finds that could be important from an archaeology perspective are reported to the local authorities. All other finds we can take with us (if the landowner is okay with it).
-Do you sell finds?
I am a collector myself so I hardly sell relics. But if I do then I'll post it on the social media pages or maybe you should consider becoming a Patron, because I'll share finds with my Patrons (check out the Patreon website for details).
-How do you gain permission for metal detecting?
Check out local laws regarding metal detecting and get permission from the landowner. Or hook up with a local metal detecting club in the area you would like to detect and get your information from them. (I stopped responding to questions like this all together, I'm not google..)
-Can I come with you?
No.
-Will you marry me?
No, lets just be friends.
-I want to see more!
Go check out the social media pages, or consider becoming a Patron! Patrons have access to much more, special videos, behind the scenes footage and WW2 goodie boxes containing relics me and my friends found over the years.
-What metal detector do you use?
The Garrett Ace Apex with a bigger coil and the Garrett AT Max.
-Camera?
Go Pro 7 and a Sony handy cam
-Favorite find?
Deep Digger Dan's TH-cam channel. GET IN!
-What is on your bucket list?
Hitler's lost gold or the missing gold train everybody is searching for. But until then I am happy with whatever pops up, I even enjoy finding landmines... :-s
As a former US paratrooper, I have always admired the WW2 German Fallschrimjagers. The “Green Devils” were an elite organization and very well trained in their duties. This was an exciting video to watch. Thank you for sharing with us Mike.
My pleasure. Thanks for dropping by.
That Fallschirmjäger ring is the coolest German relic I've seen in the past decade!
That Bilstein item was a hydraulic jack. The company is still making automotive jacks today. The screw portion was for setting the height.
Heading south to Florida soon and hope to get some beach detecting in myself. Thanks for the video 👍
Thanks Jim! Just read that they make other car parts as well. Not much of a petrol head, but that is where you guys come in.
Good luck in Florida! Send me some pictures if you find anything cool!
Yeah crazy how Bilstein is still around. They even make shocks/struts for vehicles
sorry not a hydraulic jack bud a mechanical jack
@@janfrankena1440 Nope hydraulic you can see the bleeder valve at 3.25 when he flips it over.
absolutely the best site on you tube..awesome job guys
That's definitely a Bilstein Bottle Jack, probably used on Sd.kfz 251's as their weight is around 8 tonnes.
great info! Thanks!
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting Restore that Jack.
Another great adventure buddy! Keep 'em coming. Cheers!
Thanks for dropping by Chris! I will keep them coming.. ;)
Die ring is ontzettend gaaf, ongeloofelijk! En alle munten zijn bizar, 1 daarvan vinden is al werelds voor mij! Top video weer en alle andere vondsten!
The radiator is worth alot of money to a military vehicle restorer! For one thing its its made out of brass, and the cooling can be replaced. So difficult to hold of these days. I hope you guys took it with you ! It's in good condition for its age, you would make somebody very happy !
Hey guys! This big par is a "Bilstein Carlifter" It was manufactured in Ennepetal/North Rhine Westphalia, that town where I was born. This company still exists today, always busy in supply of car repairing and spare parts.
That ring is one of the best finds (EVER). WOW.
it is.. That Jan was so lucky to find that.
Another great Friday nights viewing Mike.... definitely a big oooooooooh yeeehhhhh for that falshrimjager ring.... thanks for the name check at the end !
Thank you Martin! The least I can do.
Yeah that ring. Man what a find.. Gutted that the camera didnt save the file but good thing that Jan made some footage.
A nice healthy hiking hobby out in nature with your friends :)
Your first find is some sort of jack to lift vehicles or buildings or tanks or heavy equipment.
thanks!
Yes, thats a heavy screw jack. A vehicle shop is, or was nearby.
The woods looks beautiful. It’s always great to see your finds.
Glad you enjoyed it Mary. One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.
Jan and Kim are very lucky to live there..
That ring is unreal man what a find🤯
I’m a collector and I have a replica Falshrimjager medic helmet it’s one of my best pieces not original but still cool great video Mr Mike !
Another great adventure with Mike. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much Lennard! Appreciate you dropping in again.
Was very lucky to be invited by these guys. We had a great trip and some awesome finds.
because of that Jan really deserved finding that ring :)
Bilstien make race suspension for cars nowadays, that looks like a bottle jack. I may be wrong though
Yes, I have their shocks on my SUV. We call the device a "screw" jack.
cool, didnt know that!
Greatest metal detecting channel in the world. Love you buddy.
Wow! Thanks for your comment, appreciate it Joseph. (making me blush like a schoolgirl right now..)
Another great video, more top finds, but that ring....OOOOOH YES!
Well done 👍🏻
thanks Adam! That ring... what a find..
Outstanding hunt lads ! But that ring ooohhh !yes !!! Always a pleasure to watch pal thanks for taking us along

@@IronMikeMetaldetecting you rock though!
Great video, awesome finds….thank you for sharing.
thanks for watching! You got a new sub ;)
Great video guys and especially when you show some military footage excellent 👍.
That ring is so so cool, I recently bought 2 German coins with the swastika emblem on them through an auction.
Yeah that ring was a very cool find. One of the best finds I have seen..
Cool! Did you buy the silver ones or zinc versions?
Could that radiator be off a German or Norwegian car or even a half track? Great finds Mike and that ring is superb, defo worth an oooo. Keep up the great work 😀
Wow what an amazing find I have one similar but I bought it few year's back brilliant find guys
That was awesome Mike! Great finds!
Great background story, love the ring, cool bottle Jack👋👋👋👍
Great vid Mike,as usual..I wish I could spend a day with you guys!👍👍👍
thanks! hey, you are spending a day with us. This was shot in one day.
Another video coming soon, day three of the trip. :)
The shell casing appears to be a 20mm case. What part of Norway were you in?
Good to see you back bro. Hope the universe is treating you and your family well. Can't wait for the next adventure
Always happy when you upload! Always a good video to look forward too!👍
Yay, thank you!
Absolutely amazing find, outstanding work.
Iron Mike, what do you do with all of the things that you find? I understand the nicer ones you would display but what about all of the bullet casings? or perhaps all of the buttons?
Outstanding fines mike great videos love watching them cant waitvfor the next onevmike stay safe my friend 👍👍💪💪
Thank you Thomas! More to come!
3:40 I think this thing was used to lift things off the ground or hold them in the air, I think its current name is jack
Mike, once you returned home and the ring was given a proper cleaning did the inside of the band reveal any other clues such as date of presentation, name or initials of the owner, unit the owner was attached to, maker's mark, or just anything else that might be of interest to us?
Hi Jeff, no there were no markings what so ever.
that big iron object is a hydraulic jack for heavy vehicles
Thanks!
Ouhuuh, the Ring is the find!
Really nice one!
Loving it man keep them up
Yeah Bilstein bottle jack. They still make quality car parts to this day !
Loved the video! Great location to detect👍
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, this was one of the best places I ever been at.
Nice adventure thanks Mike
Thanks Martin. glad you enjoyed the video
Well done Normans!
I’m pretty sure that’s a radiator. Possibly for a Opel Blitz truck, Mercedes-Benz L3000, or a Steyr 1500A light truck(assuming it’s German). Honestly no clue though. Awesome Vid!
Would've been great if it was sent to a restorer of such vehicles. Militracks in the Netherlands could easily find someone who would pay for shipping.
Great finds Mike keep digging the good stuff 👍💪
Bedankt weer Steven! hey, je was weer niet de eerste dit keer! ;)
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting haha nee geef de andere eens de kans he 😂
Great video iron mike, nice finds👌😃👍
hey Mike mooie video weer, leuk zo een stukje van de wereld te kunnen zien
Bedankt Milan! Heb wel geluk dat ik zo kan rondreizen :)
Love the shows I love to medal detect to my friend
3:35 that is a "Wagenheber " . It can lift 8000kg vehicles.
Nice to see you back
Thanks Robin, nice to see you here too
That ring was awesome.
I think so too! Jan was a lucky bastard to find that :)
I’ve detected for a long time and I’ve never found anything like that in Oklahoma! Good video.
Maybe because WW2 battles never took place in Oklahoma.
@@finnbaiey7539 no kidding!
LOL
Well there were German POW's brought to the US. They were all over the US so maybe there were even some in Oklahoma.
Some nice finds!!👍
HEY JAN - thanks for the footage but, TURN YOUR PHONE!! 😉
That radiator looks to be off a truck. Its too big for a car.🤔
LOL
yes, Jan is just starting so he needs to learn a thing or two. But I'm very glad that he actually recorded that.. Otherwise I couldnt have shown you anything. I was so sad the camera didnt save the file.. But Jan saved the video more or less.
That radiator was just solid copper/brass. Way to heavy to move let alone bring it in a bag.
I'd love to have that blisten jack, restored it would look great!
It probably would. But didn't bring it. Was there by plane and imagine me bringing that through customs ;)
an exciting adventure, good job greetings from Indonesia
it was! Still one video left of this trip with some great finds, so keep an eye on that.
Thanks for watching Muhammad! greets from the Netherlands.
What part of the country is this? I can't find anything up here. My first and only find so far have been 2 german uniform buttons from a russian POW camp
Thank you for the videos
It's absolutely incredible to see such tangible history being brought out of the ground. While I'm grateful that we really didn't see any fighting during the 2 World Wars (or really any wars, with the 2 obvious exceptions, and some small battles down south), I envy you being able to go somewhere that is within driving distance and finding such amazing artifacts. I appreciate you sharing and I wish you good luck on your future digs, Mike. 👍🙏
Super!!!👍👍👍
It's a jack for a truck to raise it off the ground they come in pairs the find as you were looking around
Awesome videos pal love you buddy
You should restore that bilstein jack. I guarantee it will still work
Didn't bring it :)
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting hey do you happen to have smart-ass Dan from Germanys contact info. That does the WWII metal detecting. You should reach out and be sure he's ok. With covid and all it makes me concerned that he hasn't posted in 8 months.
WW2 truck jack sitting on a wall . Please say you kept it !
Blisten maybe this is a 8000 kg hand crunk lifter for cars or trucks or something 🔥✌️😎✌️🔥
The bottle jack is not war time. It is marked with a DIN number only used since 1975.
Thanks for clearing that up! Maybe someone's mother in law fell over there and they needed to get her back on her feet..
Iv been so patient, I need some ooooh in my life 😂. Looking forward to this one man!
I look forward to seeing the content he brings up! Very cool finds my friends! I'm now subscribed to both pages 👍
Thanks Corbin! Appreciate it. More to come. We did some more great finds on the third day of the trip, so should be able to make a nice video of of that.
Gratulation from Austria
3:40 dat is een soort krik. Onderop zit een vierkant soort aansluiting.
Dat is van de draaiarm.
krijg er een hoop reacties op dat het een krik is. Gelukkig heb ik jullie voor de mysterie vondsten.
bedankt!
Good video team fantastico
thank you!
What's Jan's channel called thanks
Hi. Great content. Have you ever considered to detect on Poland or Baltic countries?
Hi! Thanks for watching. Yes I have but have read that detecting is illegal in Poland. Could be wrong?

These folks need to do more research so they can ID their finds
Yes! Another normay video!
And another one coming! Thanks for watching!
That looks like a vehicle jack.
Receive a lot of messages that it is. So guess you are right.
thanks!
Hi love the jacket you were wearing. What make is it?
That Radiator sits behind the grill of an Opel Blitz Feldkuche or Diamler Benz L701 that the Waffen SS used
Super
That was a jack
That large relic you found looks like a hydraulic jack of some sort. Did they make you an honorary Viking, Mike?
I did receive a Viking ship! (that ashtray Jan found in previous video, he gave it to me as a reminder of a great trip).
If that radiator is German perhaps there is Mercedes makings on it somewhere
3:04 Wagenheber?
Denke auch so :)
Danke fur anschauen Claudia!
3:16 this could be a car-jack
Thanks! Weight a ton!
that thing at 3.00 is a jack
That’s a 20 mm round.
Whoooo great
yay! Thanks for watching!
Hey big balls I’m glad the pile of crap wasn’t your best find of the day. Another great video keep em coming
