In one of their recent talks they mentioned that they would give themselves a break every 3 months, and I’m really glad that they are more aware about the importance of resting. But still have more rest!

My aunt's late father was a strange individual. He actually said that practicing made him worse, he was a saxophone player, so other than warming up her never practiced before a performance. But for whatever reason, likely because he was a savant, a prodigy, he always sounded amazing. I never had the opportunity to hear him play live, but if the recordings were anything to go by he was truly incredible. But he was certainly an exception to the rule.
Same thing happened with me. Piano lessons killed my motivation and skill because my teacher made me practice constantly. The more i practiced a set the worse it sounded
it might not be that he is an exception to the practice and you'll see improvement rule, but instead is someone who with time, became more knowledgeable and more critical of his skills. it's the perfectionist's curse, really.
i dont know about saxophones but as a flautist i also limit my playing before a performance or an exam because the condensation builds up and ruins my tone. Maybe thats why

I never made piano my profession, but one of my simple joys as an old millennial is practicing piano in private and recognizing that my technique can still improve more. That there's still a chance for growth at any age.

The oldest millenial is around 35-ish, i think. The youngest millenial is 25-ish.

I also want to thank you so much for convincing me that orchestra was a better path. I recently got moved up to the highest orchestra in my school! I’ve only been playing double bass for a year, but this group is a high-school level orchestra. You have always made me laugh and smile, so thank you very much, Brett and Eddy! 🤍
Why did you appear on my recommendations only after i lost my passion for the piano and dropped it? You motivated me to want to start again but now everyone in the house will look at me with that expression making it really uncomfortable to play. Somehow I really like this Lingling episode. Thank you guys for being true to what you always say 'Practice' makes perfect indeed. You live what you said and that is what most inspiring for us. And we have the joy to join you on this journey. Looking at your vid 5+ year before hearing your playing vs what you play around 2+ years before and the 4M concert, the quality and the improvement is really prominent. Maybe you are not flawless, no notes were wrong but your playing, musicality definitely improved tremendously. Can't wait for the days you guys can play the way you want it to be played the most. Best for both Brett and Eddy.

I always feel like musicians have wizard/witch vibe in them!! Maybe they really can do magic, because how else is possible to create music that sounds so magical!! (yeah I know the answer, prcticce!!) lol Also I remembered that I want to be a conductor when I was little just because the baton looks like a magic wand to me (it still does lol)

r/place was a reddit event where people could place a pixel every 5 mins onto a canvas
we coordinated in a discord and tried to get the twoset logo on the canvas but it was destroyed by bots unfortunately
we eventually managed to ally with the my little pony community and incorporated "2set" into an image of a pony called octavia who's depicted playing a cello (double bass?) and it made it onto the final canvas :D
Twoset helped me get through a rough time, thank you so much for what you have done just to make classical music relevant and modern.

I started watching twoset when I was 13 (14 now,about to be 15),and discovered my love for classical music (my fav is Vivaldi Winter 1st mov.) and violin but somehow I still dont have a violin🙂.I have a guitar and been playing that for 1 and a half year but I like violin more.
I couldn't afford a violin - I didn't want to buy a cheap one - so for now I rent! It's very reasonable too. (I'm in the UK).
Do you play classical guitar, or Spanish? Guitar sounds beautiful in those genres… and did you know Paganini was also a guitar player, he also composed for guitar.

He has and is. A while back he said he would have mastered the 1st movement by 3.6M, the 2nd by 3.7M, the 3rd by 3.8M and I assume practice with an orchestra by 3.9M. They talk of a surprise and I reckon this is it. We need quality sound and filming like that in their 'virtual concert'. The days of playing in a curtained room with poor sound are over... Eddy's incredible Sibelius performance deserved better.
@@wakingtheworld And during that marvellous sibelious concerto I was half asleep because Im from Greece and I couldnt appreciate it at its most due to exhaustion and because I was working after like 5 hours with limited sleep time...Thankfully though I would repeat watching like crazy afterwards!
@@christosavdis857 Same I've watched it many times. Have you watched Ray Chen's 'roast' of his performance?!! Tbh, he was well impressed. Kept smiling and nodding his head. Ray's run through makes you understand how extremely challenging this piece is...

@@christosavdis857 I'm only 6 months in and a piece like that will never be on my horizon. I've got Massenet's 'Meditation' on mine... for now. Maybe in 20 years??? But I doubt it very much. Will be happy to play expressive pieces not the really difficult stuff. In the meantime I can appreciate those who can play at this incredible level.

The play it slow and forget the notes is so true though. As a pianist you get so used to muscle memory at a certain tempo that slowing down clogs the gears and does not compute lol

I really hope I was in NYC last week!! I almost get a bus ticket (a four-hour drive) to NYC when you guys first say you are there! Don’t know if this has been done before, but here is a random video idea- you’d need your musician friends and (somehow) a group of child (that don’t play a instrument). You would get your musical buddies that play different instruments, each of them will have to try to convince the group of child why their instrument is the best. In the end- the child will decide what “The best instrument”. The instrument with the most children wins. This is just my idea ._. Would you guys like to see it?

TwoSet did a vid (don't ask me which out of their 1,300+) where a group of young musicians at some school had to vote with a show of hands on who was the best violinist: Brett or Eddy, who took it in turns playing different pieces. Some of these kids were super talented (or had just practiced 40hrs a day) and one or two said 'Oh, I'm playing that piece at the moment' as you do when you're 10!

It's r/place. I know that these don't happen yearly but when r/place comes on, Reddit would give us a canvas of sorts to just place logos, memes, pictures etc. that is relevant to either our subreddits, or trends. Every redditor can put one pixel on the canvas and that pixel would be there for a limited amount of time before you are able to add another.
I got 2 20 second unskippable ads in a row before this video… worth it
I also used to think that if you didn't start young you wouldn't go anywhere but I picked up an instrument when I was 22 and while I'm not anything as good as the guys who started when they were 7 and practiced every day for 30 years I think I'm doing ok. During covid my new years resolution was to practice every day and I actually did it and the amount of improvement I saw made me feel on top of the world.
