Your videos are better than what I put out ;-) Glad to see your machine is back in the air again. I never had a bearing issue but just like another pilot here on YT says..... What could possibly go wrong 🙂
Rubber seals have a better "seal" at the expense of some friction so running them at very high speed is not a good idea. Metal seals are in principle "non-contact" so are better at high speeds. At the speeds we run bearings it's not worth having a heart attack about it... Props turn pretty slow. I personally would use rubber in that dusty spot if I had both, in fact, I'm not sure I can think of a single bearing on an ultralight that wouldn't "slightly" benefit from having rubber seals with all that dust and crap being blasted back and forth by the prop.
I hope Courtney approves of that bearing, or you'll never hear the end of it! LOL!!!!😆
