It's been a long time since I've done any FF7 songs, and with Cloud's inclusion in Smash and FF7 remake being announced, I figured now would be a good time to bring this song back.
I first covered Let the Battles Begin! (then titled 'Those Who Fight') back in 2010. I went with this song rather than doing One Winged Angel or Still More Fighting because there are already a million versions of those songs out there, but this one doesn't get covered as much. I feel like Uematsu really hit an experimental stage with the FF7 and FF8 battle themes and was just like 'I'm gonna make some really weird but cool sounding stuff'.
Anyways, I've always been intrigued by this song. Hope you like this version!

The quiet bit around the one-minute mark is great! Metal songs with a soothing bit are vastly underused, in my opinion.

I absolutely love this remix. I would love to hear Fight On! sometime in the future as well. Who knows, maybe it will take inspiration from the remake, or Jonny would just do his own thing

How about Final Fantasy X Battle or FFXIII - Blinded By Light? Since you have given many of the really classic battle themes love. I think the slightly newer ones need a GaMetalfication!
My favorite song to battle while fighting in the Midgar Stage in Smash. This version sounds very impressive, hope it helps me defeat more people as Cloud.
Honestly any Final Fantasy cover you do is great. I hope to see some of songs you have not done yet like Samba de Chocobo, Castle Cornelia, or Seymour Battle.

This completes my list of best battle themes remade by Jonny, along with FFVI Decisive battle, Don't be afraid from FFVIII and Golden Sun Battle theme.
Such a great remix except for that part where you kept keyboard soloing. That’s the pinnacle of the buildup for the song. You shoulda let it rip instead of dampen it down with the soft keyboard. Otherwise, such a good version.
I disagree. Adding soft parts every now and then makes the contrast greater and feels more impactful. It's his way of accenting the song.

Jonny, dude you should do Primal Dialga's battle theme from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers! It's honestly one of the most captivating and epic battle songs I've ever heard besides Majora's mask from... well Majora's mask. Mystery Dungeon is my (and a lot of others) favourite game series of all time. I love your stuff; you are severely underated and need more praise!! (btw, a choir in Star Wolf gave me goosebumps) Keep up the good work man!

I'm pretty sure I've been listening to this for a year, and I still love it to this day. I mean, why wouldn't I? Even though the original Battle Theme might be a little bit overused, it's still a great listen, and people have made some excellent remixes of it over the years

Took me a while to get some time to post but AAAAYYYY FF7 Battle Theme is nice! I was glad you retained and kept the power of the original cause I know some people go soft with it near the end mimicking the advent children piano version
