This battle to me feels less like a battle and more like a test. I've always felt that Pokemon fight you and break out of poke balls because they are testing your patience and will to see if you are worthy of their power. This is no less apparent when giratina appears. The fact that it doesn't attack you imediently and the text "giritina quietly stares at the player" could mean multiple things. It could mean that giritina has been looking for a challenge and you are the first to enter it's domain since Arceus knows when. It could also mean that, possibly. It wants to be captured. Because that would mean it could finally escape the distortion world and be free again. What do you think?
I'm a lot more late, but I concur. In the lore, Giratina was banished for its rage and violence. For it to just stare at you intently could imply ulterior motives on Giratina's part. The player is its main ticket to freedom after all. If nothing else, its a good challenge and much needed workout for Giratina. If we want to reach a bit we can even assume that it encountered Cyrus (and what a crazy bastard he was) and saw the player character take him out, therefore earning Giratinas respect in the first place.
oh yes the good old "Jumpscare beast" I remember playing this with friends getting jumpscared and then getting wrecked because we had no idea on how to fight this demon

This remix is quite fitting for Giratina, it has this disturbing & chaotic sound to it for some segments reminisce of the twisted world Giratina is found in, while having the royal sounds fit for a king or god
Man, what I really love about this theme is that although it feels alien and threatening, it still sounds like a pokemon because it is one. Then it sounds very sorrowful because Giratina never meant to be harmful. When it was conceived, it only destroyed, but not by it's own hands. It is anti-matter, it cannot help that it destroys. It's body is going against it. It was banished for a deed that it never did. But I think this pokemon is that of a child, it still loves and wants companionship, it's just misunderstood and it's origin has been twisted, just like it's origin amongst the Pokémon community. Some people think it is supposed to be satanic, but that is a twisted rumor that is untrue. It is anti-matter, a being of innocent destruction.
And I believe it’s gravity since it can also rip holes in space time, and if it was made of antimatter it would blow up instantly the second matter touched it.
i've never really seen Giratina as actually evil. yeah, it's aggressive and prefers to solve problems with violence, but not downright evil after all, in platinum, Giratina outright popped up when Cyrus was about to suceed to toss him into the distortion world. especially since Arceus itself seemingly couldn't be bothered to for...whatever reason.
(Apologies in advance for the rambling and possibly self-contradictory and/or inaccurate essay that is about to ensue) I always figured that Arceus didn't intervene because it knew Giratina was going to show up and do something. Therefore, no need to get involved, it's already taken care of. Really, the way I see it, Giratina in general seems to have some misunderstandings surrounding it. It's the embodiment of antimatter, not "pokemon Satan" as some may refer to it. It isn't evil, per se, just territorial to the point of violence. Its domain, the Distortion World, seems to be some equivalent to a padded room. Giratina was put there for the safety of everyone, including itself (its 'crimes' mentioned in a couple of pokedex entries aren't really elaborated upon). Much like if antimatter were to collide with matter, basically it wouldn't end well. So it was necessary for all parties involved. Since Giratina embodies antimatter, it being so protective of balancing between the two concepts is understandable. Cyrus was threatening that balance, so Giratina had to take some kind of action. Another thing to take note of is that Giratina is known as "the Renegade Pokemon". One definition of the word is when someone acts in "a rebelliously unconventional manner". Which sounds about right. Cyrus tried to create a new world by destroying the current one, and Giratina wasn't having that. So, it decided to drag Cyrus into a place that represented everything he supposedly wanted ("You want your own empty and spiritless world so badly? Well then, here!"), and basically left him there. So, Giratina, being the Renegade, took initiative and showed Cyrus precisely what he was trying to create. It did something that probably wasn't expected, but it did so to protect the balance between worlds (even if it ultimately kind of messed that up a little by keeping the portal open). Then, when you are in the Distortion World itself, you have the opportunity to confront Giratina. Interestingly, you don't actually _have_ to battle it, something that Cyrus comments on ("That shadowy Pokémon... You quelled its rage by refusing to battle it?!"). What you're doing, basically, is telling Giratina "Hey, you left your door open", whether or not you actually fight it. When dealing with a Pokemon that uses unconventional means, settle the problem with unconventional means i.e. by not battling it. TL:DR Giratina is woefully misunderstood.
@@endermenon4836 there isnt even a pokedex entry that outright states it being evil or committing any crimes, just that it was violent. the way i see it, it could be that giratina had little control over its domain in its infancy, and arceus closed off the part of the universe giratina had destroyed, thus creating the distorted world.
@@endermenon4836 It seems most of this was right, but it was just semi confirmed by Gamefreak that Giratina didn't stop Cyrus because they needed to, but because they wanted to. Otherwise, Arceus may have been the one to stop Cyrus.

When I hear this remix and close my eyes, I DO see Giratina, and this, mah boi, is great ! Because not every remix of Giratina's theme are able to do this. Keep offering us your beautiful work :D
Just picked up legends, and what separates this remix from all the others I've found is the attention of the artist to "presentation." That intro bit at the start is such a great mood setter that I haven't heard in any other remix. Probably my fav Giratina remix right now.
If I were to write a Pokémon fan fiction, it would be about a true Pokédex capturer. Someone who wants to actually complete the Pokédex rather than battling. But in that, they would have to duke it out and put their life on the line for each Legendary they would try to catch. Most Legendaries simply wouldn't listen to their trainer so usually he just ends up releasing them as soon as their entry is written in the Pokédex, but Suicune would stay. 1:23 I love this remix and I'm just imaging an epic scene where Giratina can knock out humans and Pokémon with his thoughts and negative energy alone so he incapacitates Kenta (Gold) and charges up a Shadow Ball only to see Suicune walk towards him out of the corner of his eye.

@mamamimikyu 64 With the battle mechanics of legends it is really difficult to win the 8v6 battle without insanely overleveling ur team, I just used all the legends I caught before challenging Volo and used cresellia's bulk and healing to barely win with only last one standing at 5 hp.
Thought I'd make this into a story. Never played Platinum, so I'm making this off of the bit I know You`re trapped in a bizarre vortex. Chaos loops around you, filling your scenes with nothing. What was that noise? Have I seen that waterfall before? The world seems like its spinning, but you haven't given up yet. Hours seem to pass by, until you don't know how long you've been lost. Maybe the beast is testing your sanity, because you can't stay here for long. Not without going insane... Your Pokeball shakes, and you know you have to keep going. You'd be letting your starter down if you stopped, trapped in the endless void... Eventually, you see something. Something out of the ordinary.... Well, nothing is ordinary here. Nothing. Finally a flash is seen before you. Something is in front of you, making you stop in your tracks. You force yourself to calm down, you've seen it before. "Well little human, you' seem worthy of my time.`` You know that voice, felt this terror. You know exactly who it is. "Looks like you found me, eh? You looked quite ready to give up." The voice was calm, but that didn't help at all. In fact, you would feel better if it was yelling at you. The crisp, deep voice fills you with dread. "I suggest you leave. I'm giving you mercy now. Don't be a fool." You would gladly take the menacing voice's advice, quite ready to run. Fear makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end, scaring you half to death. But no. You're Pokeball is still shaking. "Don't let me down. Please. I'm you're starter..." The voice rings in your head. You don't know how you can hear it, but you can tell Infernape is speaking to you. This shouldn't happen. But, you're in the Distortion world. Anything can happen here. So, you reply. You're voice sounds like a frightened squeal, but you quickly control it, making it sound straight and calm. "I'm not leaving Giratina. You're not running from me again!" The beast chuckles, the sound enough to drive you insane. Your blood turns to fear, you're straight fear. Nothing more, nothing less. So, you hold Infernape's Pokeball up to your head. The ruler of this world brings its head down to match your height. Which, against the beast of the night, you're not very tall. It snarls, and your hair flies backwards in the noise. Your eyes widen as it spreads its wings. Or, are they wings? There's so many shadows, everything is deceiving. "Turn back..." The voice wails in your mind. "Please! Run away!" You hesitate, for a quick moment, and turn to Giratina. "Thoughts you send won't stop me." You hiss at the monster. The monster roars, which you can't tell if its in frustration or amusement. "No? Most Trainers would have gone mad by now, if they had the patience to walk in my world at all. You're an interesting one I must say." "You're going down, whatever you are. You're a monster, banished by Arceus for your violence. If I don't stop you now, you'll find a way back, won't you? Yes, you'll find a way back to my world. You'll destroy everything before I could stop you. I won't allow you to destroy everything I love!" You're voice rose to a furious yell at the last few words, anger spilling over you. This is the beast who's main goal is to hurt you, hurt everything around you. Everything you hate, everything you love all alike. You must stop it. Now. Before its much too late. So, you throw your Pokeball. It hits Giratina before Infernape jumps out of it, hitting back the monster, making it go backwards. "Lets do this Infernape. I believe in you." "Fine then human, I gave you mercy the first time, running back to my world so you could stay in your own. But now, now, you've came to my world! Hoping to capture me, hoping to defeat me. You believe you can capture the great Giratina? Think again! You're realm will be destroyed, along with everyone you care about!" It yowled in fury, getting ready to attack. "Over my dead body." You retort. "Yes, it will be over your dead body." It hissed. A wild GIRATINA appeared!
This has always been one of my favorite Pokémon tracks and this is just better than the original, man! :) Now that I think of it, if they ever make gen 4 remakes, they NEED to use this for little giratina!
This is awesome giratina is my favorite legendary to the point where I spent over half a week trying to get a shiny one in ultra moon ( which I finally did after a while) and I had to hear its theme over and over and I just started to love the music. This is an awesome remix

hOW DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS?! I'm so genuinely surprised that, considering the amount of views you get. Not only that, but your unique style as well. The electronic vibe that you incorporate into nearly every remix is here, but it takes a little bit of a layback in this specific song. You kind of let the synth and the melodies take control of this one, but in no way did this ever feel laid back. This had a very ominous tone to it, and perfectly captured the feel of battling this ghost dragon at the end of a very confusing, tiring, and treacherous journey. In the "calm" sections, it felt as if you are in the dark, trying to figure out where Giratina is, waiting for it to come out of its Phantom Force. This is, by far, the best "Vs. Giratina" remix I have ever heard. You really should have more subs, man.

But... you see multiple beams of light raze the walls of a place with no rules. You look back to see... Arceus. but its form is different. As if... its truly powered up. Giratina is not visible, but you see something horribly large zoom past you, able to move faster than light itself. It stops. Looks at you. Then it approaches you. Giratina.... has evolved. A table of obsidian appears with a script on it. The script is labeled, "Reign of GIraz". Giratina.... was once Giraz? The story continues even further, stating that... Giratina purposely used its power to create the egg of Arceus due to the beings of the Void creating an unescapable gravity at the center of their home due to them consuming the void. You look up to see a crippled... Arceus. One shot with Giratina's tentacles has sent Arceus into a desolate state. Arceus fades off in a brilliant white light. Giratina approaches you once more. You look up to see massive plate fusing together to crystalize Giratina's griseous orb. It has a new name now. The Valiant Orb. It absorbs it and the fight with Giratina commences. The True God, Giraz, Has Appeared!

God I love the little beat skips and small edits to the main sounds that come in and fade back into the original, they feel perfectly in place being out of place, breaking the time while staying fixed to the beat of it's own
Here’s hoping the pokemon games continue to get more complex in the future. Imagine the entire objective of was just “Escape” as level ??? Giratina shows up, with two more ? ?’s being added during the opening few seconds as it’s just materializing behind the player and this is the music you’re treated to while Giratina begins blasting apart the environment you try to navigate with your team.
I'm still listening to this pretty much every day. It's an incredible mix that you can get stuck in your head way too often. VanilluxePavilion makes some pretty awesome remixes.
If i didn't know any better i'd think this were a theme for Arceus. It sounds so powerful and somewhat divine. Which makes sense, Giratina is a god in it's own element.
Imagine a pokemon game where every legendary plays a major role and that giratina ultra necrozma and arceus are the final bosses after like 70 hours of gameplay. I want a longer, more difficult, more stategic, more dark (while true to itself) game. Some of these comments really make me wish the community culd get together and make a triple a pokemon game.

i've never really seen Giratina as actually evil. yeah, it's aggressive and prefers to solve problems with violence, but not downright evil
after all, in platinum, Giratina outright popped up when Cyrus was about to suceed to toss him into the distortion world. especially since Arceus itself seemingly couldn't be bothered to for...whatever reason.
(Apologies in advance for the rambling and possibly self-contradictory and/or inaccurate essay that is about to ensue)
I always figured that Arceus didn't intervene because it knew Giratina was going to show up and do something. Therefore, no need to get involved, it's already taken care of.
Really, the way I see it, Giratina in general seems to have some misunderstandings surrounding it. It's the embodiment of antimatter, not "pokemon Satan" as some may refer to it. It isn't evil, per se, just territorial to the point of violence.
Its domain, the Distortion World, seems to be some equivalent to a padded room. Giratina was put there for the safety of everyone, including itself (its 'crimes' mentioned in a couple of pokedex entries aren't really elaborated upon). Much like if antimatter were to collide with matter, basically it wouldn't end well. So it was necessary for all parties involved.
Since Giratina embodies antimatter, it being so protective of balancing between the two concepts is understandable. Cyrus was threatening that balance, so Giratina had to take some kind of action.
Another thing to take note of is that Giratina is known as "the Renegade Pokemon". One definition of the word is when someone acts in "a rebelliously unconventional manner". Which sounds about right. Cyrus tried to create a new world by destroying the current one, and Giratina wasn't having that. So, it decided to drag Cyrus into a place that represented everything he supposedly wanted ("You want your own empty and spiritless world so badly? Well then, here!"), and basically left him there.
So, Giratina, being the Renegade, took initiative and showed Cyrus precisely what he was trying to create. It did something that probably wasn't expected, but it did so to protect the balance between worlds (even if it ultimately kind of messed that up a little by keeping the portal open).
Then, when you are in the Distortion World itself, you have the opportunity to confront Giratina. Interestingly, you don't actually _have_ to battle it, something that Cyrus comments on ("That shadowy Pokémon... You quelled its rage by refusing to battle it?!"). What you're doing, basically, is telling Giratina "Hey, you left your door open", whether or not you actually fight it. When dealing with a Pokemon that uses unconventional means, settle the problem with unconventional means i.e. by not battling it.
TL:DR Giratina is woefully misunderstood.
@@endermenon4836 there isnt even a pokedex entry that outright states it being evil or committing any crimes, just that it was violent. the way i see it, it could be that giratina had little control over its domain in its infancy, and arceus closed off the part of the universe giratina had destroyed, thus creating the distorted world.

@@endermenon4836 It seems most of this was right, but it was just semi confirmed by Gamefreak that Giratina didn't stop Cyrus because they needed to, but because they wanted to. Otherwise, Arceus may have been the one to stop Cyrus.
Wow ! I can only say one thing : magnificent ! You're one of the few remixers who caught the essence of the original Giratina's theme. When I hear this remix and close my eyes, I DO see Giratina, and this, mah boi, is great ! Because not every remix of Giratina's theme are able to do this.

Just picked up legends, and what separates this remix from all the others I've found is the attention of the artist to "presentation." That intro bit at the start is such a great mood setter that I haven't heard in any other remix. Probably my fav Giratina remix right now.
If I were to write a Pokémon fan fiction, it would be about a true Pokédex capturer. Someone who wants to actually complete the Pokédex rather than battling. But in that, they would have to duke it out and put their life on the line for each Legendary they would try to catch. Most Legendaries simply wouldn't listen to their trainer so usually he just ends up releasing them as soon as their entry is written in the Pokédex, but Suicune would stay.
1:23 I love this remix and I'm just imaging an epic scene where Giratina can knock out humans and Pokémon with his thoughts and negative energy alone so he incapacitates Kenta (Gold) and charges up a Shadow Ball only to see Suicune walk towards him out of the corner of his eye.
this doesn't sound like giratina's actual theme at all but it sounds like something they would use for it in an alternate universe

@mamamimikyu 64 With the battle mechanics of legends it is really difficult to win the 8v6 battle without insanely overleveling ur team, I just used all the legends I caught before challenging Volo and used cresellia's bulk and healing to barely win with only last one standing at 5 hp.

Giratina represents that which bends both space and time.
Not usually one for bass remixes, but it just fits Giratina and the whole distortion aesthetic so well that I can't help but enjoy it.

You`re trapped in a bizarre vortex. Chaos loops around you, filling your scenes with nothing. What was that noise? Have I seen that waterfall before? The world seems like its spinning, but you haven't given up yet. Hours seem to pass by, until you don't know how long you've been lost. Maybe the beast is testing your sanity, because you can't stay here for long. Not without going insane...
Your Pokeball shakes, and you know you have to keep going. You'd be letting your starter down if you stopped, trapped in the endless void... Eventually, you see something. Something out of the ordinary.... Well, nothing is ordinary here. Nothing. Finally a flash is seen before you. Something is in front of you, making you stop in your tracks. You force yourself to calm down, you've seen it before.
"Well little human, you' seem worthy of my time.``
You know that voice, felt this terror. You know exactly who it is.
"Looks like you found me, eh? You looked quite ready to give up."
The voice was calm, but that didn't help at all. In fact, you would feel better if it was yelling at you. The crisp, deep voice fills you with dread.
"I suggest you leave. I'm giving you mercy now. Don't be a fool."
You would gladly take the menacing voice's advice, quite ready to run. Fear makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end, scaring you half to death. But no. You're Pokeball is still shaking. "Don't let me down. Please. I'm you're starter..."
The voice rings in your head. You don't know how you can hear it, but you can tell Infernape is speaking to you. This shouldn't happen. But, you're in the Distortion world. Anything can happen here. So, you reply. You're voice sounds like a frightened squeal, but you quickly control it, making it sound straight and calm.
"I'm not leaving Giratina. You're not running from me again!"
The beast chuckles, the sound enough to drive you insane. Your blood turns to fear, you're straight fear. Nothing more, nothing less. So, you hold Infernape's Pokeball up to your head. The ruler of this world brings its head down to match your height. Which, against the beast of the night, you're not very tall. It snarls, and your hair flies backwards in the noise. Your eyes widen as it spreads its wings. Or, are they wings? There's so many shadows, everything is deceiving.
"Turn back..." The voice wails in your mind. "Please! Run away!"
You hesitate, for a quick moment, and turn to Giratina.
"Thoughts you send won't stop me." You hiss at the monster.
The monster roars, which you can't tell if its in frustration or amusement.
"No? Most Trainers would have gone mad by now, if they had the patience to walk in my world at all. You're an interesting one I must say."
"You're going down, whatever you are. You're a monster, banished by Arceus for your violence. If I don't stop you now, you'll find a way back, won't you? Yes, you'll find a way back to my world. You'll destroy everything before I could stop you. I won't allow you to destroy everything I love!"
You're voice rose to a furious yell at the last few words, anger spilling over you. This is the beast who's main goal is to hurt you, hurt everything around you. Everything you hate, everything you love all alike. You must stop it. Now. Before its much too late. So, you throw your Pokeball. It hits Giratina before Infernape jumps out of it, hitting back the monster, making it go backwards.
"Lets do this Infernape. I believe in you."
"Fine then human, I gave you mercy the first time, running back to my world so you could stay in your own. But now, now, you've came to my world! Hoping to capture me, hoping to defeat me. You believe you can capture the great Giratina? Think again! You're realm will be destroyed, along with everyone you care about!" It yowled in fury, getting ready to attack.
"Over my dead body." You retort.
"Yes, it will be over your dead body." It hissed.
A wild GIRATINA appeared!
If you lose you have to start the game over.

hOW DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS?! I'm so genuinely surprised that, considering the amount of views you get. Not only that, but your unique style as well. The electronic vibe that you incorporate into nearly every remix is here, but it takes a little bit of a layback in this specific song. You kind of let the synth and the melodies take control of this one, but in no way did this ever feel laid back. This had a very ominous tone to it, and perfectly captured the feel of battling this ghost dragon at the end of a very confusing, tiring, and treacherous journey. In the "calm" sections, it felt as if you are in the dark, trying to figure out where Giratina is, waiting for it to come out of its Phantom Force. This is, by far, the best "Vs. Giratina" remix I have ever heard. You really should have more subs, man.

Giratina is not visible, but you see something horribly large zoom past you, able to move faster than light itself. It stops. Looks at you. Then it approaches you. Giratina.... has evolved. A table of obsidian appears with a script on it. The script is labeled, "Reign of GIraz". Giratina.... was once Giraz? The story continues even further, stating that... Giratina purposely used its power to create the egg of Arceus due to the beings of the Void creating an unescapable gravity at the center of their home due to them consuming the void. You look up to see a crippled... Arceus. One shot with Giratina's tentacles has sent Arceus into a desolate state. Arceus fades off in a brilliant white light. Giratina approaches you once more. You look up to see massive plate fusing together to crystalize Giratina's griseous orb. It has a new name now. The Valiant Orb. It absorbs it and the fight with Giratina commences. The True God, Giraz, Has Appeared!

Imagine the entire objective of was just “Escape” as level ??? Giratina shows up, with two more ? ?’s being added during the opening few seconds as it’s just materializing behind the player and this is the music you’re treated to while Giratina begins blasting apart the environment you try to navigate with your team.

If i didn't know any better i'd think this were a theme for Arceus. It sounds so powerful and somewhat divine. Which makes sense, Giratina is a god in it's own element.

Imagine a pokemon game where every legendary plays a major role and that giratina ultra necrozma and arceus are the final bosses after like 70 hours of gameplay. I want a longer, more difficult, more stategic, more dark (while true to itself) game. Some of these comments really make me wish the community culd get together and make a triple a pokemon game.
