Interesting because I originally ordered mine with 18" Bartlein but after talking to a few people called and changed it to a Ace. I'm about 11 weeks out on mine shipping.
@@dustyrhodes1655 what length did you end up going with? I originally ordered one in 18” as I was going to run suppressed but after x-ring tested the diminished accuracy suppressed I figured I may as well go 22”. Still shorter than my centerfire and hopefully get more consistent long range accuracy with the reduced SD & ES. But than again I feel that some of this is just luck of the draw with barrels. Who knows it’s 22lr!
@@tylerorth2870 I went 18" Kukri. I had a TBAC 22 in jail before I ordered the V22 and before Ray's video. Maybe I will get lucky and the can won't affect group that much. Nice rig Ray. I been waiting for this exact run down for a long time. I'm so impressed, and I wrote down each and every part. And I also love TriggerTeck 2 stage triggers. I also have 2 stage in all my AR's (LaRue MBT-2S) and my billet 10/20's (Kidd 2 stage's) Just imagine this, me researching MicroTech knifes led me to your channel, and a X-Ring LUDT. Holding my Marlin 25MN in .22WMR....."shh, shh....I know you have a wooden stock, thin profile barrel, Harris bipod, and $30 scope. Just know, if I ever cheat on you, it will be with Ray's NRL Rimfire rifle...Now you know that will never happen" *Hug my rifle*
What would you say is the minimum equipment needed to enjoy the match (not necessarily win, but get a respectable score)? I've never been to a match but I am going to watch one in NC in two weeks.
Hey John, First off thanks for watching. Secondly, I wouldn’t watch the match, I would seriously just shoot it. You can compete with any .22 and be competitive as long as you have a decent 22 that will hold 1” groups at 50 yards. Ruger RPR, Savage, 10/22 etc. The most important thing is also the scope, you NEED external turrets and mil/Moa doesn’t matter at all. Which match are you attending in 2 weeks?
@@XRING VOD Tactical Rimfire. It's close enough to my mother-in-law in Asheville that I'll be able to swing by without being missed. Believe it or not, I've been shooting for fifteen years, but I don't own a rimfire rifle. I've done pretty good at IDPA and local GSSF matches over the years. I've only attempted to get in to longer range shooting since COVID. Last year, I bought enough land to make an 1100 yard range. I won an LMT 308 in a raffle and paired that with a Nightforce NX8 2.5-20x50F1. Been using that combo to learn about bullet trace and external ballistics. Pretty interesting stuff.
I want a XTR3 but for basically the same price I can get a Razor HD that's illuminated. I was able to go on the Burris website and saw where someone's question was answered that they are 4 or 5 months out on an illuminated one. Ugh.
Hey question on optics. I saw on another discussion video you said you or someone you trusted were not impressed by the ZCO optic. This is in contradiction to most other opinions I can find on it which seem to rank it only second to the Tangent Theta, and it’s $1k less. Could you elaborate on what you’ve seen or heard? Also you implied there were several less expensive scopes you thought were equal to the ZCO, what models were you considering it’s equal? With most of these optics it’s near impossible to get first hand experience with them before making a purchase. Thanks, enjoy the channel!
I’m waiting on a Vudoo v22 that I won for winning out rimfire league here in ireland 🇮🇪. Did you specifically ask for a Bartlin barrel or did you change it your self. When I was going threw the specs of what I wanted. The barrel choice was only length and contour
In your video, “First precision rimfire match and finish” on September 12, 2020 you said, “ I won’t be spending any more money on my rifle.... there were a lot of voodoos... I’m not spending that kind of money, especially on a .22”. Six months later you review your NRL22/PRS rifle, and it’s a Voodoo lol. That was a quick about face. You aren’t the only one who has felt that way in the beginning, only to wind up with a $5,000-8,000 (or more).22LR rifle. What changed your mind, other than just precision (ie smaller groups)?
Nice for those that are considering being a professional. But for those of us that just do it for local matches, what build would you recomend? BTW, do you have a source for B.C. for .22LR rounds by manufacture? My Strelok thinks it needs it.
That is a super cool rifle, but, if I may ask - what's the point of competing with 22lr? I mean, that's like $5k for a 22. I'd think that money would be better spent in a centerfire caliber.
I can speak Korean but can’t read it. What’s it say in Hangul on your scope. It would be good to see that pea shooter up against a CZ 457 in a chassis. My CZ out shoots my Bergara B14.
LOL! I did last year before all of the components turned into gold! 🤣 I shot the Hornady PRS challenge last year along with quite a few other center fire matches .

Love this setup. It’s basically exactly the same as the setup I’m planning on building over the next year or so to start competitive shooting.
Stickers looking great on that Burris!
