First test of HEQ gport gimbal on plane.

  • Gimbal is installed on a retractable mount. Im using sbus to control yaw and pitch. There is some jittering in the gimbal axis, particularly when its not facing straight forward. Also as you see, it seems to loose which way is up and the horizon has a considerable tilt. HEQ support are very responsive and suggest the jittering is interference in the lines. (EDIT The twitching could be originating from the slider on the radio but its only jumps +- 1pwm - not too bad) . The level drift should be addressed in the next firmware. I have made some gimbals using Alexmos simple BGC boards and they very much benefit from FC communication to maintain level. I hope HEQ soon offer serial ardupilot support.
