29 years of supporting #NUFC all the way from Malaysia through high & low. I'm very grateful to hav the new ownership group & Eddie Howe as our manager. I know what i see in Eddie Howe, he is quality. He need time & all our support, I'm rooting for him to end our trophy drought & many more trophies to come with him at #NUFC

It’s very easy to shout ‘Eddie out!’ when we’re going through a losing streak and/or the players look tired or out of position (to our uneducated minds) but facts demand we give the man serious credit.
To be where we are this season; given all the injuries and the extremely bad luck we’ve had - (I’m thinking bad handball calls and all the cup ties away) - is nothing short of phenomenal.

Outside of the top 4 everyone else is inconsistent we realistically should be mid table tbh with the injuries and Howes stubbornness to change things at times but that’s not a knock on us if other teams are useless

Eddie might come across as boring to the media outlets but, having watched most pressers and the odd 'social' videos, I reckon he's got a wicked sense of humour and an infectious laugh behind the scenes. He also strikes me as someone who does not suffer fools gladly! Great interview guys - a few goosebumps at times too...as a Bournemouth fan it was a no brainer that Eddie would do well...

    “Elite”
That’s the key. He absolutely elite in his mentality. He knows what it means in the modern game and, most importantly, how to implement it.
We are very, VERY lucky to have him.

Exactly. His honest admission that last season was an anomaly that even he didn't expect is what makes him the best person to build the ethos and mentality around the club for years to come. His analytical, detail orientated approach makes him an elite MINDED manager, but I think he can only be classed as an elite manager when he wins major trophies.

I’ve done a fair bit of work and study into media management and Eddie Howe is imo the best ever manager in handling the media, he is clearly thoughtful, intelligent and measured. We are so fortunate to have someone like him, long may it last

Really enjoyed listening to this. So refreshing to hear an intelligent, reasoned and interesting discussion on Eddie Howe. and Newcastle United. Some great insights from Luke on Howe, and I totally agree that he is hugely underestimated as a manager which lets be honest is a good thing for the club.

Don’t always agree with everything Luke Edwards rights or says but on this occasion I’m 100% with him. I’ve been supporting Newcastle since the late 60s and in my opinion Eddie Howe is the best manager we have had in that time.
You always support your team, but you don’t always necessarily like the manager/coach.
I liked Joe Harvey (he should have a statue alongside Shearer and Robson).
Do not under any circumstance mention in the same breath Gordon Lee. 💩.
Of course I liked Robson. I liked Rafa and thought he was, at that time, the best coach we have ever had. I even thought Pardew did a decent job but Eddie as Luke Edward says is an elite manager and I hope he stays with my club for a long time.
    Good interview Alex.
    #HTL.

Getting serious "Beware the wrath of a patient man" vibes from the description of Howe's anger.

If you’re not a shouter and screamer when you DO shout and scream it has a massive impact. In actuality, you don’t even need to shout, you just need to turn it up a notch and everyone stops and listens.

Elite , or not, doesn't really matter. One thing we can say is that he has undoubtedly taken this club and player's forward. I have very high hopes with Eddie in charge. He's got my full backing.

  • @JackBurton3963

Howe certainly can lead the club to glory if he has learnt from his mistakes this season. Is Howes in-game management skills good enough to win the biggest matches and finals? Will the injuries be bad again next season? Do we have enough robust players to cope with his physically demanding style? Are we happy to keep developing players but not bring in any winners to help get us over the line in the biggest moments? Can he make ruthless decisions at critical times? Many things to consider. I do rate him quite highly despite my skepticism. We all want Howe to be the man to lead the club to glory. Time will tell if he is that man.

It's far too early to describe him as elite. He has made several glaring errors this season although he appears to have come through this season's challenge in credit. And if we do get Europa League, on balance, it will be another successful season for him. But to be classified as elite he needs to win major trophies on a regular basis.

Pep, Klopp and Ancelotti are elite managers. Arteta is not elite yet. Eddie is special to us but he’s not elite yet. The term ‘world class’ is used too loosely when describing top players and it’s the same with managers. De Bruyne is world class, Rodri is world class, Bernardo Silva is world class. Bruno G and Isak are not world class yet. Rice is not world class yet.
