You Don't have to be in L4 for Downhill assist. You can use it in H4
But L4 would be much much better compare to H4 is going down on muddy offroad hill..
It is NOT high SPEED 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. It is high RANGE 4x4 or low RANGE 4x4 or high RANGE 2 wheel drive! It has got NOTHING TO DO with speed, it refers to the gearing ratio or low range or high range gearing.
H2 And H4 And L4 which one is correct
Using l4 do you have change the shift from neutral to drive?
Or you just leave it on neutral while driving on l4???
Now days I also driving same Revo Hilux model 2017 the 4×4 had gone stuck how to remove it
What if it's not working

Kindly try Roller Test on Both Fortuner Sigma & Hilux Revo. It will show real 4WD performance of each wheel. To check all the wheels have power or its just a marketing gimmicks:)

Sir in fortuner 4x4 when we drive vehicle in H4 and turn the vehicle (full steering turn) (in very slow speed) i feel like front wheels are slightly skidding. What is it ? Is it something like deferential not distributing properly?

In H2 power is only in rear wheel.
In H4 it comes to front wheel also hence you feel.more weight om steering don't worry it is absolutely normal.
