I've just made the build in eternal realm. It's good but it's not going to hit the same crazy high dps because no vampiric powers mainly the attack speed buffs.
Although i have only just hit level 92. My gear is definitely not great, ive got all the aspects and all gear except tibaults will. and I only have 2 of the 6 glyphs at 15 let alone 21. Takes me a good 20 seconds to kill varshan.

I´m a Necro Main. I absolutely wanted to try Ball Lightning Sorc. Been there at 3-4 different Builds. But it is kinda hard to switch if youre never been a sorc before . . . THIS is the first time i succeeded with Ball Sorc. Frozen Orb seems to be way more easy to play for non-sorc-mains than manually casting Ica Blades etc. --> Thank you for making Ball Sorc finally making fun :-)

I've been trying to tell anyone who will listen, but the MOST powerful glyph that no one is using is 'damage while healthy'. It is a MORE damage seperate multiplier. It nearly doubles your damage. Try it.
Imbiber is amazing, but this build doesn’t need more damage. Even without Imbiber, it can stagger and kill Uber bosses in a few seconds once you have optimal gear and one-shots elites as if they were level 1 enemies. The challenge is where to fit Imbiber in the paragon board, because it’s hard to give up any of the other key glyphs which we use.
Thanks for taking the time to fine tune and share this build. It's effective and tons of fun. Could you answer a question for me? If I counted correctly, you are able to generate up to 8 balls that surround you. I have not found the way to generate more than 4. Is there a particular method to be able to fully surround my Sorcerer with up to 7-8 balls?
Actually the number looks like 8 balls but there are much much more. The ball count comes down to your attack speed and mana regen. When high enough you will continually generate orbs
If the point of useing a wand is just for the attack speed and not for the lucky hit, then consider useing a dagger! The attack speed is the same but it gives you damage to close which is all the time active!
This is great, I Was running my own version with this ring on my ball source and at 85 I could do everything solo uber lil , the new booger boss and this is great but its already op to the degree it made the game boring for me .. truly a game breaking build without having to min max every slot.
10:00 i dont think u can calculate it like that. 4 dmg types = 15x4 =60x multiplicative dmg. But the 39% non physical dmg is additive not multiplicative. Still alot tho :)

Damage wise its well thought out in pvp itll be a bit harder to pull this setup off tho. I use Crest/raiment/elemetilist/Tib will/Flicker/Spear of lycander/grav neck/tal and prodigy, my atk speed and crit both starts at 60% and jumps to 100 with para procs spear of lycander is definitely a monster give it a try and incorporate in your build you wont go back to 1h and off hand i promise you
You honestly don’t need any points in glass cannon once you have optimal gear and paragon glyphs at level 15+. You do so much damage that the limiting factor is survivability at T100 dungeons. Recommend you move those points elsewhere to more defensive talents, use the fire bolt as an enchant to set enemies on fire and get some damage reduction from burning enemies on your gear. This will prevent you from getting one-shotted at high level NMDs and let you leverage the incredible Fiery Surge and Devouring Blaze passives. That way, you can do far more than 1M with your ball lightning. Also, if you’re lucky enough to get Andariel’s Visage from Duriel, it applies poison damage for the Tal Rasha ring, so this frees up one vampiric power slot. I swapped Andariel’s in instead of Godslayer and the difference to survivability is immense. Pro tip: use Frostburn or a well-rolled Fists of Fate gloves. Frozen or immobilised enemies can’t hurt you and they take massively more damage from you. That’s the secret to surviving top tier NMDs.
Appreciate the thoughtful comment. Honestly the build has no survivability problems what so ever. Once in awhile you might die in a t100 from being really careless but not necessary to put anymore into defense. I do mention in the video that glass cannon is overkill that’s just pushing damage higher.

I’ve been running T90+ NMDs back to back to quickly level up key glyphs and found that I was sometimes instantly dying to random environmental splash damage even though I was fortified (through Sanguine Brace) and had a barrier with ice armour up. This is when I had a lot of points in glass cannon through Raiments and my necklace (I was at something like 8/3). I made the changes mentioned above and reduced the number of points in glass cannon to 2/3 and noticed I don’t die any more as frequently. Stuff still melts the instant my balls touch them anyway (ooerr), because frozen or immobilised, thanks to my gloves, means they get insta-gibbed through Aspect or Control and the Devouring Blaze passive. What’s surprised me is that T100 feels much safer on my HotA Barb with optimal gear (including Shako and Grandfather). With that character, I can run around close to the movement speed cap and deliver 200M hammer crits routinely and never seem to die with almost 20K fortified HP and shout buffs. This is why I’m still trying to optimise my sorcerer to have more defense because DPS is already crazy high, I don’t want to instantly die to unavoidable environmental splash damage. Trying Vyr’s Mastery now, to see if it’ll feel safer. I was running Esu’s Ferocity before, which synergises very well with Devouring Blaze and it seems to work for Lightning damage as well as Fire, for some reason.

Hey man! thanks for your build I followed every step of it.. I'm just wondering, do you state your stats priority by item somewhere? because i cannot find it on ur build. ex : wand (or dagger), you need close dmg, mastery dmg, stunned dmg etc.

Head & Chest focus on defense stats….i.e damage reduction from close enemies, increased armor etc. Weapons try to get Crit chance, crit damage, vulnerable , close. This is ball lightning and we want as much damage to close enemies and we want those hits to crit. Happy hunting

I appreciate your comment about clickbait videos, promising meta builds that end up wasting our time. This game punishes us for changing builds. It doesn't allow enough storage. We should be able to keep infinite extracted aspects, have a wardrobe like "quick equip" for skills, gear and paragon board (especially for console, controller only players). A character creation option, allowing "copying" your current character (with all items, boards, glyphs, etc.) would also be nice. We could then respec, regear, etc. and then delete the character if the change doesn't work out. If item duping is an issue then maybe a test server with the same functionality. Unfortunately games aren't a labor of love for huge companies who are looking to meet profit margins and move on.
Thank you. I agree with 100% of what you just said. I think as soon as you unlock an aspect you should be able to continue to swap it between your gear, if you find the same aspect with higher stats then great. The search for certain aspects becomes tedious at best.
@ultrarunnagaming I know this probably seems trivial since it's all notated in the video but when you have a chance could you please update the build on the build website with the optimal in slot stats on each gear piece to allow for easier gear hunting at a glance rather than searching for the video again it would be very much appreciated!

To be honest, I've been trying as hard as possible not to switch to Ball Lightning on my lvl 100 Sorceress, because I know it's ridiculously overpowered, but the temptation was too much. I tried this on eternal realm as I know it's still viable. I'm still tweaking a few things, and it goes without saying there won't be as much damage/dps without vampiric powers, but I don't do even close to this amount of damage. I run with the Godslayer helm, Tal's ring, and Esu's heirloom with the aspects on my other gear as you laid out, but something feels very off. I still kill things fairly quickly, but it feels like I should be doing more. Question, do you go with Destructive Frozen Orb because the enchantment gains that benefit along with the base benefit of frozen orb?
@@ultrarunnagaming season 2 was literally the only season I enjoyed, due to the level of difficulty being watered down, the new bosses that came and the blood harvest. It was honestly a nice change of pace, but now it’s just blehhh

Awesome build and really good Video. What i dont understand is how you can Cast so many Balls at once. Im lvl 80, i dont have all the uniques but i can Cast maybe 4-5 Balls and then im struggeling to regen mana. Do you got any Tips ?
Yes most it is in the way we have the skill tree and paragon board setup. Also you will want to look for attack speed and mana regen on your gear, make sure you equip either a wand or dagger for faster attack speed and equip the aspect that increases attack speed. @ultrarunna hey buddy, quick question. Is conceited actually better than using the seasons elements aspect for the focus item? I had no choice because blizzard is frugal with meta crap and wont drop many conceited aspects for me, so I was running elements for awhile, it seems as strong or stronger to me especially when it kicked in the lightning side ect. Is conceited that much better because I have no problem running it. Just seems the conceited is max 25 increase dam to while barrier is active but the other can be max 30 to elements for 7sec. Id like to know your input thanks again and thanks for the work you put into this.
Yes conceited is a huge damage increase, we have a barrier up 100% of the time because of the way we have our vampiric powers setup. Elements is great also and it’s actually not to far off from conceited so you can go either way with this one. I prefer the 25% damage bonus vs 30% a percent of the time. What stats do you suggest to having on the ring? I have CRIT chance + dmg, life, resource gen and thinking it could be something better. In your video I see only Dmg stats...

Definitely. Try the enchantments the way I have them setup along with the skill tree. You will see a massive difference. Also take a look at the gear aspects. Very important
I think it was from the vampiric powers. It's called Infection if I'm not mistaken. Everytime you deal direct damage to an enemy they also take poison damage.
One of the things I didn't see in the build is playstyle/skills rotation. I am curious the order in which you use the skills (situationally - mob pack vs boss)

What are the Enchantments used? I'd wager Frozen Orb and Chain Lightning, though the build could use Firebolt instead of Chain Lightning to inflict Burning Dmg, thus Fire, meaning extra Dmg with Tal Rasha's Loop!
Tested it’s actually not higher and that 4th damage modifier on Tal is overkill when compared. I show the enchantments in the video right before we discuss gear and aspects. Also you can click the build link
btw it's Tebow, not Tie-Balt. So far no streamer pronounces it correctly. And I followed your paragon board which was missing nodes, so I figured something out to get the secondary on glyphs.

I have one question. Isn’t attack speed capped at 200%? With Ravenous, everywhere almost max movement speed, and attack speed on Gloves, I already reach beyond the 200% attack speed cap. Would that not make the Inner Calm aspect pointless? Or is there something I am unaware of/misunderstood?
after playing with teleport enchant, and + evade charges on my boots, I get bored when I take it off. I love the speed from this. How to combine this with high BL dmg?
If you can get the oculus and paired with metamorphosis you get teleport enchant for free and can slot in another enchant and go for esu for your boots. If you like jumping around everywhere thats the way to go
Frozen orb should not be better than the ice blades to apply frost. Allso, it seems to me that you 6 glass cannon's, makes this possible, more than anything ells.
Ok since we are attacking at a fast speed and frozen orb has a 30% chance, frozen orbs are constantly flying and they fly far….really far ahead of you and they inherently apply 34% chill. Frozen orb becomes incredibly powerful once you start slinging these bad boys all over the place. Much more effective then ice blades
Is there a reason to choose storm swell over conceited? Doesn’t conceited cover all enemies when you have a barrier and storm swell requires them to also be vulnerable?

Am i allso correct that you fire damage for tal rasha on this build is only done by enemies getting close to you when you have Fire shield up? That seems like a very unefficient way. Fore bolt enchantment makes it much more consistent, but then again, no room for frost orb on the enchantment slot.
Yes with fire shield but remember you only need to apply it one time and you are a ball sorc so start your fight up close and personal with flame shield then all you need to do is apply any damage. You want frozen ord for the chill effect to add even more damage
@@ultrarunnagaming thats not how it works in real life. Flame shield has a range and a cooldown. Fire bolt enchant makes sure fire is up on anything you hit with.
@@baldis12 trust me that’s how the Tal Rasha ring works. Once you have your 4 ticks of damage multipliers active all you need to do to keep them active is apply any damage. I have tested this over and over and over.
@@TJ-2067 the amount of damage it's outputting straight away Ball Lightning is currently bugged. Enhanced Ball Lightning no longer scales damage down to compensate for faster tick rates. This means DPS can now be increased by up to 3x (10 / 3.33) by increasing the tick rate from the base 3.33 per second to the maximum 10 per second with Attack Speed.
@@markwhite1348 This is rubbish the whole purpose of IAS is to increase DMG, if there ever was a down scaling that was a bug, what gain would you have from investing into the IAS if the DMG would be scaled down? On top of that looking on the IAS on Druid and Rogue DMG scales up not down. As to the bug on sorc from what I could test it, its related to the Gravitational Aspect which should increase the DMG of the Orb by up to 25% but in reality it x25 meaning it is 250%. Seeing the D4 Devs reply to the report this may not be changed at all also if you think that this is OP you didn't see a Barb ONE hitting Duriel and Lilith, BL is strong but comparing it to Hota BArb and TB Rogue it's still not at that level but overall way easier to setup.
the dmg is fine on ball lightning but we are kinda squishy, i hope some1 fixes this for t100, i dont wanna get sneezsed at by a lightning or ballista and get 1 shotted on abbatoir
Just Switch Head and Pands for normal gear dont need unique get Armor , life and dmg Reduction I Play it on Hc and no Problem t100 Speed without use HP
@@ultrarunnagaming Yeah, I've used that but somehow, despite having 12k hp and 10k base armor, still got oneshotted by ballistas. So I've modified back to Arc lash for CDR, added Stable aspect with Lightning spear and now everything is just stunned before I even get in :)
ok what did I miss im level 60 and I'm having mana issues hugeeeee 2 balls and then it expires almost as soon as it comes. Only when i'm in a pack and keep getting orbs, but just stir up and go is hurtful. Any suggestions as I probably missed what you said to fix mana??
Errol your gear for mana regen. Once you get a bit higher you will get better gear. Your first priority should be attack speed then mana regen on every piece of gear, weapon, amulet, rings and aspects. Once you get your gear in check the build will melt everything in sight. Make sure you have the enchantments correct and vamparic powers.
Weird is that in the Calculator the area for the glyphs is on the max side 9 Fields wide but ingame only 7. Which means from the glyph in the middle you have 3 fields in all directions but on the calculator you have 4 ( up,down,left and right ). Maybe that area of effect expands while you upgrade the glyphs?@@ultrarunnagaming
I’m clearly missing something in my sorc. Still not 100 and don’t have the ring yet (varshan hates me) but I’m only hitting around 50k a ball, missing something I’m sure unless that ring is just going to be nuts in boosting that dmg up
The ring adds 15% damage per added non physical damage source. Cold 15%, Poison 15%, lightning 15%, Fire 15% that is collectively up to a 60% damage increase along with that the first stat on the ring can give you up to 39% flat DPS increase, that’s 99%
is this good for say level 51 -100? I am levell 51 at the moment, and I am trying your other Ball lightening build....now theres this one. lol. Which way does one go?
I would stick with what you are working on for now. Until level 80 or so. For the million build you will need a high ranked Tal Rasha Ring and that will drop better stats once you are at a higher level. Happy hunting

It must be for the lucky hit utility since he is stacking it for primary resource gain to sustain mana,not like the build is in need of any more dmg.

What’s surprised me is that T100 feels much safer on my HotA Barb with optimal gear (including Shako and Grandfather). With that character, I can run around close to the movement speed cap and deliver 200M hammer crits routinely and never seem to die with almost 20K fortified HP and shout buffs. This is why I’m still trying to optimise my sorcerer to have more defense because DPS is already crazy high, I don’t want to instantly die to unavoidable environmental splash damage. Trying Vyr’s Mastery now, to see if it’ll feel safer. I was running Esu’s Ferocity before, which synergises very well with Devouring Blaze and it seems to work for Lightning damage as well as Fire, for some reason.

Head & Chest focus on defense stats….i.e damage reduction from close enemies, increased armor etc. Weapons try to get Crit chance, crit damage, vulnerable , close. This is ball lightning and we want as much damage to close enemies and we want those hits to crit. Happy hunting

I appreciate your comment about clickbait videos, promising meta builds that end up wasting our time. This game punishes us for changing builds. It doesn't allow enough storage. We should be able to keep infinite extracted aspects, have a wardrobe like "quick equip" for skills, gear and paragon board (especially for console, controller only players). A character creation option, allowing "copying" your current character (with all items, boards, glyphs, etc.) would also be nice. We could then respec, regear, etc. and then delete the character if the change doesn't work out. If item duping is an issue then maybe a test server with the same functionality. Unfortunately games aren't a labor of love for huge companies who are looking to meet profit margins and move on.
Thank you. I agree with 100% of what you just said. I think as soon as you unlock an aspect you should be able to continue to swap it between your gear, if you find the same aspect with higher stats then great. The search for certain aspects becomes tedious at best.

If you really want to push dps you should be using Esu's Ferocitry because its bugged and will give crit multi to lightning

Thanks for the video. To be honest, I've been trying as hard as possible not to switch to Ball Lightning on my lvl 100 Sorceress, because I know it's ridiculously overpowered, but the temptation was too much. I tried this on eternal realm as I know it's still viable. I'm still tweaking a few things, and it goes without saying there won't be as much damage/dps without vampiric powers, but I don't do even close to this amount of damage. I run with the Godslayer helm, Tal's ring, and Esu's heirloom with the aspects on my other gear as you laid out, but something feels very off. I still kill things fairly quickly, but it feels like I should be doing more.
Question, do you go with Destructive Frozen Orb because the enchantment gains that benefit along with the base benefit of frozen orb?

Awesome build and really good Video. What i dont understand is how you can Cast so many Balls at once. Im lvl 80, i dont have all the uniques but i can Cast maybe 4-5 Balls and then im struggeling to regen mana. Do you got any Tips ?
Yes most it is in the way we have the skill tree and paragon board setup. Also you will want to look for attack speed and mana regen on your gear, make sure you equip either a wand or dagger for faster attack speed and equip the aspect that increases attack speed. @ultrarunna hey buddy, quick question. Is conceited actually better than using the seasons elements aspect for the focus item? I had no choice because blizzard is frugal with meta crap and wont drop many conceited aspects for me, so I was running elements for awhile, it seems as strong or stronger to me especially when it kicked in the lightning side ect. Is conceited that much better because I have no problem running it. Just seems the conceited is max 25 increase dam to while barrier is active but the other can be max 30 to elements for 7sec. Id like to know your input thanks again and thanks for the work you put into this.
Yes conceited is a huge damage increase, we have a barrier up 100% of the time because of the way we have our vampiric powers setup. Elements is great also and it’s actually not to far off from conceited so you can go either way with this one. I prefer the 25% damage bonus vs 30% a percent of the time. Definitely. Try the enchantments the way I have them setup along with the skill tree. You will see a massive difference. Also take a look at the gear aspects. Very important

I think it was from the vampiric powers. It's called Infection if I'm not mistaken. Everytime you deal direct damage to an enemy they also take poison damage.
Vampiric power is where you get poison damage
One of the things I didn't see in the build is playstyle/skills rotation. I am curious the order in which you use the skills (situationally - mob pack vs boss)
Spam ball lightning and everything else as you need them
I do Ice blades to aggro, ice shield, ball lightning, teleport, then fire shield if cc'd. Rinse and repeat.

What are the Enchantments used? I'd wager Frozen Orb and Chain Lightning, though the build could use Firebolt instead of Chain Lightning to inflict Burning Dmg, thus Fire, meaning extra Dmg with Tal Rasha's Loop!
Tested it’s actually not higher and that 4th damage modifier on Tal is overkill when compared. I show the enchantments in the video right before we discuss gear and aspects. Also you can click the build link

I have one question. Isn’t attack speed capped at 200%? With Ravenous, everywhere almost max movement speed, and attack speed on Gloves, I already reach beyond the 200% attack speed cap. Would that not make the Inner Calm aspect pointless? Or is there something I am unaware of/misunderstood?

after playing with teleport enchant, and + evade charges on my boots, I get bored when I take it off. I love the speed from this. How to combine this with high BL dmg?
If you can get the oculus and paired with metamorphosis you get teleport enchant for free and can slot in another enchant and go for esu for your boots. If you like jumping around everywhere thats the way to go
Frozen orb should not be better than the ice blades to apply frost. Allso, it seems to me that you 6 glass cannon's, makes this possible, more than anything ells.
Ok since we are attacking at a fast speed and frozen orb has a 30% chance, frozen orbs are constantly flying and they fly far….really far ahead of you and they inherently apply 34% chill. Frozen orb becomes incredibly powerful once you start slinging these bad boys all over the place. Much more effective then ice blades
Is there a reason to choose storm swell over conceited? Doesn’t conceited cover all enemies when you have a barrier and storm swell requires them to also be vulnerable?

Am i allso correct that you fire damage for tal rasha on this build is only done by enemies getting close to you when you have Fire shield up?
That seems like a very unefficient way. Fore bolt enchantment makes it much more consistent, but then again, no room for frost orb on the enchantment slot.
Yes with fire shield but remember you only need to apply it one time and you are a ball sorc so start your fight up close and personal with flame shield then all you need to do is apply any damage. You want frozen ord for the chill effect to add even more damage
@@ultrarunnagaming thats not how it works in real life. Flame shield has a range and a cooldown. Fire bolt enchant makes sure fire is up on anything you hit with.
@@baldis12 trust me that’s how the Tal Rasha ring works. Once you have your 4 ticks of damage multipliers active all you need to do to keep them active is apply any damage. I have tested this over and over and over.
Could possibly do more with Shako, but just a PSA ball lightning is BUGGED and will end up getting patched in the near future

Ball Lightning is currently bugged.
Enhanced Ball Lightning no longer scales damage down to compensate for faster tick rates. This means DPS can now be increased by up to 3x (10 / 3.33) by increasing the tick rate from the base 3.33 per second to the maximum 10 per second with Attack Speed.
@@markwhite1348 This is rubbish the whole purpose of IAS is to increase DMG, if there ever was a down scaling that was a bug, what gain would you have from investing into the IAS if the DMG would be scaled down? On top of that looking on the IAS on Druid and Rogue DMG scales up not down. As to the bug on sorc from what I could test it, its related to the Gravitational Aspect which should increase the DMG of the Orb by up to 25% but in reality it x25 meaning it is 250%. Seeing the D4 Devs reply to the report this may not be changed at all also if you think that this is OP you didn't see a Barb ONE hitting Duriel and Lilith, BL is strong but comparing it to Hota BArb and TB Rogue it's still not at that level but overall way easier to setup.
the dmg is fine on ball lightning but we are kinda squishy, i hope some1 fixes this for t100, i dont wanna get sneezsed at by a lightning or ballista and get 1 shotted on abbatoir
Just Switch Head and Pands for normal gear dont need unique get Armor , life and dmg Reduction

Have you tried Esu's ferocity with Aspect of Ancient Flame to stack attack speed? It works not only for fire skills
Yes and it works great but if you are at the cap of 200% then it’s overkill

@@ultrarunnagaming Yeah, I've used that but somehow, despite having 12k hp and 10k base armor, still got oneshotted by ballistas. So I've modified back to Arc lash for CDR, added Stable aspect with Lightning spear and now everything is just stunned before I even get in :)
Frost enchant is 100% a mistake, you should use lightning spear enchant.

ok what did I miss im level 60 and I'm having mana issues hugeeeee 2 balls and then it expires almost as soon as it comes. Only when i'm in a pack and keep getting orbs, but just stir up and go is hurtful. Any suggestions as I probably missed what you said to fix mana??
Errol your gear for mana regen. Once you get a bit higher you will get better gear. Your first priority should be attack speed then mana regen on every piece of gear, weapon, amulet, rings and aspects. Once you get your gear in check the build will melt everything in sight. Make sure you have the enchantments correct and vamparic powers.

I’m looking at it right now. Trying to find where the mistake is.
Weird is that in the Calculator the area for the glyphs is on the max side 9 Fields wide but ingame only 7. Which means from the glyph in the middle you have 3 fields in all directions but on the calculator you have 4 ( up,down,left and right ). Maybe that area of effect expands while you upgrade the glyphs?@@ultrarunnagaming

If you have vampiric powers correct you should be very very tanky. I talk about it in that section of the video
I’m clearly missing something in my sorc. Still not 100 and don’t have the ring yet (varshan hates me) but I’m only hitting around 50k a ball, missing something I’m sure unless that ring is just going to be nuts in boosting that dmg up

What makes you think that the non-physical damage on tal rasha ring Is multiplicative damage ? Aren t damage stats on items always additive?
The ring adds 15% damage per added non physical damage source. Cold 15%, Poison 15%, lightning 15%, Fire 15% that is collectively up to a 60% damage increase along with that the first stat on the ring can give you up to 39% flat DPS increase, that’s 99%
But the first 39% aren't multiplicative.@@ultrarunnagaming

I would stick with what you are working on for now. Until level 80 or so. For the million build you will need a high ranked Tal Rasha Ring and that will drop better stats once you are at a higher level. Happy hunting
