found myself screaming at my screen at 24 minutes that if you're going to put those back in to tork them put those booties on them first so you don't have to take them back off... 😂
I followed his steps (mostly) and the tips he mentions are great. My install was no problem. Rest in peace my friend and condolences to your friends and family.
Just ordered the axioms for my scout. Winter project is set. This video really help visualize the process. Thank you. I am curious as to why not replace the fork seals whilst you already had everything apart for price of mind? In any case thank you for all the effort you put towards this.
Oh ... I should have, I was being lazy and learned a valuable lesson. Just a month or so later a seal blew and I had to replace my seals. I have that video too if you need it.
Good video. I would of put the fork gaiters on, but that's just me; I like the look. Going to be dropping my forks soon, so good to see how its done. God bless!
Did your axeos show up coated in oil? Mine showed up today sitting in a puddle of oil with oil rolling down the shaft. I know they’re nitrogen cartridges but wondering if they have oil inside them as It looked like the Teflon seal under the threads looks potentially compromised as well as rust on the shaft like they have been on the part shelf for years. Probably returning them.
@@dadwithabike In your video when you were testing the new inserts were you holding the front brake? Trying to judge the difference compared to mine. Thanks for the feedback.
@@dadwithabike awesome, looking forward to it. One thing my scout does when on a highway is when I hit bumps or deep imperfections I feel like it wants to do the death wobble when it happens. Have you experienced that? Did this fix it? Sorry for asking too many questions hopefully you answer them in the video for others who experienced the same as I.
Legends were a direct cartridge fit and are not springs, so you are putting in much stronger and more performant cartridges making the ride a bit more sporty. Ohlins and Progressive only offer springs.
@@Valorcycle It is not hard at all. Take your time. I would keep the suspension set to 0 unless you are a REALLY big guy. I ended up re-tuning mine down from 1 to 0.
@@dadwithabike i'm 6'3" about 200lbs but I sometimes ride with my wife on the back. Thats a rare event though since we have a 1.5 yr old and its hard to get someone to watch her so we can both go out.
Question, I upgraded the 22 road glide front wheel to 21 inches and changed it to axeo21 (0414-0543). I also added 13.5oz(400cc) of the fork oil with screamin' eagle heavy. My weight is 80kg and my wife often rides in the back, so I installed the pre-load by turning it around once. However, even if I ride alone, if I pass through a slightly deeper manhole, I get a shock as if the front cartridge is pounding. Is this right?

Haha, I ended up NOT liking the booties when I test fitted them - not sure why, they just didn't sit well with me :)
I was thinking the same thing...then came to the comments to make sure I wasn't the only one. Cant wait to see the ride and review video next!
Haha - I'll have to pin a comment on it then :D
@@dadwithabike which ones did you have? I was planning on getting ones

Awesome.. thanks for the video, very helpful..
Thanks

No, mine didn't have oil on them. So yeah, I'd return them.
What year is your Bobber? I have a Scout 60 and looking to upgrade. Only thing I can find that fits is the Progressive. Where did you get the Legend?
Mine is a 2019. I bout the legend from JP Cycles

@@drumline897 yeah. Make sure you have your brake caliper back on or you'll be bleeding your system.
Do you really need the clamp to do this? Could you still do it by hand?
Very hard to do by hand, but using your triple tree as a vice works great as well.
How did they feel on the road? Did it stiffen the suspension making it tougher on the road?
Yeah. I did a 100 mile ride and they were a huge improvement. I'll do a full review one I get 500 miles on them

@@stogie0608 I've not experienced the death wobble on mine - but if your tire pressure is squared away then shocks could be the issues

I'm thinking of getting this suspension for my 2020 Scout. Now that you've had it for some time, would you recommend it?
Very much so. Makes braking and handling so much better

Right now I'm using Progressive 444s
