@@johnyseimah229 Dude didn't have the money, based on saying if he wins it he'll call his dad to help figure out how he's going to afford it. This is the reason bidding sites restrict people from placing massive bids without considerable evidence they're good for the money they're trying to spend.
Yeah, but one person will bid the amount they assume is the value whether the bid started at $100,000. If they wait the last second someone could bid $500,000- $700,000 just to make sure they buy/ win it, if that’s what they think it’s worth and so they are sure to win it. I’m also sure they are aware other people are waiting the last second to bid, so they go with all they are willing to offer all at once to win.

God bless you Rick and Michael!
just get a gold cart and cut a hole out for the switches, get a gray one then and print out the label. AVGN went over that it was just a glued on print out. I thought like 10 exist.
That tent basketball hoop is actually a laundry hamper. The whole idea was to shoot your dirty socks etc into the basket. Someone apparently cut the bottom out. I had one of these back in the day.
Iconic Games: Feature popular games from each era, highlighting their impact on gaming culture. Use box art, cartridges, and discs. Game Accessories: Include interesting peripherals like the Power Glove, Nintendo Zapper, or Sega Dreamcast. Playstation, etc.
I might be nuts but for games I have always had the code: buy to play not to display. Having games and cool toys was only fun playing them growing up and now as a father playing them with my son. Also think outside of a poster would you buy your kids something they aren't allowed to enjoy?
@incremri Saw this video late, but I just wanted to say (while I also play the games I buy) there are plenty of things we enjoy by looking at, rather than playing. Posters, as you said, but also family pictures, trading cards (obviously some are games, but some are not), figurines, statues, decorations, etc. Sometimes looking at, admiring, talking about, reminiscing about, something brings you joy. Games are *collectibles* as much as they are *games*, and it's okay to engage with them in either way, one or the other, or both. (but also 150k for a display cartridge like this is insane lol)
Soda cans pop at a fairly alarming rate. (I've got a mountain dew collection that is about 400 cans). Maybe once every 3 months, I hear a pop from my closet. It's loud and alarms the schtit out of me. But it's always just some can losing it's seal. And it's usually somewhere around the pin at the top. That's how you get half full cans. I've got a whole case of voodew that has popped.
The story of how one guy contacted a bunch of people at the back of a Nintendo Power magazine who were listed as the winners and allegedly pressured one guy into "guilt selling" is a video in and of itself
I think those museum cabinets should have some sort of background in each. Like find some simple backgrounds and print them on some foam board so there’s some POP and dimension to each. Or just print and glue on foam board. Like that LEGO Mario, it would look nice to have some 8bit background. Know what u mean?😊
haha I think you are right. I thought it was foolish to want stadium events in box for 50k after making no profit on the store. But trying to spend 150k on NWC cart because daddy has you covered? He's not buying this stuff as an investment. He's Billy Madison.
Swap Earthbound for Tetris. There’s over 4 decades of games and merch and the Classic Tetris World Championship is coming up and this year was the year somebody beat NES Tetris!
Nice Gamecube score! Always good to see you keep up with that console's stock. That Tails statue is pretty cool too. As much as he annoys me in Sonic 2 for Sega, it's nice to see the character to get some love.
"Hello? Dad? My father who worked hard all his life for a comfortable retirement? I need a loan. How much? Maybe a few mill...for what? Umm...there's this Nintendo game I really want. How old am I? What does that have to do with anything?"
Dude you should totally swap out the Lego Mario with the Nintendo world championship cartridge if you get it, and the Nintendo Power Magazine that features it
The only things I can think of that are rarer than this are the gold Wii Supreme and the Atari Swordquest prizes, of which only one of the five is still confirmed to exist.
My top GameCube games: Vexx - better item collection game than Mario Sunshine or any others, imo. F-Zero GX - even today, still my favorite racing game ever. Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 and 2 - probably the game I put the most hours into on GameCube. TimeSplitters 2 - great FPS game. TimeSplitters Future Perfect - another great FPS game. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - imo one of the better FF games. Tales of Symphony - a great JRPG. For the museum... Rick will hate me for suggesting this, but my vote is Home Alone. The YT channel one needs to remain. The rest are all video game related. Home Alone just doesn't fit. Granted it does have the most in it, which is all good stuff, but it just doesn't have a video game store feel to it, imo. My second vote option would be The Wizard, but it is at least a movie about someone being a master at playing video games.
was thinking the same thing. after his business breakdown showing hardly any profit and the wild spending. things didn't add up. *wild papa money bags appears*
Have a 1990 Nintendo World Championship display in the museum. Get rid of Lego Mario, set up a CRT tv and play a loop of the championship with other displays around it.
No video game is worth that much it’s only worth what someone is willing to pay for it is what drives up the damn prices but I’m not one of them suckers to do it I got way better things to do with my time and money
When Rick pulled out those Mario Shasta’s I’ve never nostalgia tasted a video more in my life. Forgot about those but instantly could taste that peach can.
I held one of these carts back in the day and even played it. A cousin of mine 2 towns over won one of these bad boys. It was sold for 20 dollars because as a game it just wasn't fun to play. Only the winners got a copy so they are much harder to find than the grey carts. I believe there were 22 of these given out and fewer still exist.
That gold NWC cart label -- wasn't it just like a cut out piece of printed paper that was glue-sticked to the front of the cart? It wasn't the high quality label like every factory NES cart hard. It's not hard to picture it falling off.
Like a legitimate none other Holy Grail it would have to have the label to drop that kind of money. Which would make it go up in price but to do it would have to add a label.
Lego Mario has to go. So much more items can be put in that spot. Lego Mario can be hung from the ceiling or off the rails of the steps. Lego Mario can go just about anywhere.
Condition doesn’t matter on this. But I don’t think it’s worth more than 10 g. But that’s just me. Someone will pay hundreds of thousands and be happy to have it.
you have 150k you didn't drop but I think a cool thing for the store would be the Pokemon Snap Station. Think it would be awesome for customers to buy printing paper to print out their snaps. I know the store is tight with space tho.
If I had (MONEY) Id only buy two game consoles. Atari 2600 and NES. Have become a big fan of your youtube channel, waiting for future videos. I grew up on the two I mentioned, plus Coleco-vision, Sega-Genesis, PS 1 & 2. I also like Wii (especially the 3 inning baseball game it came with). Hoped Wii had a full 9 inning baseball. But we all out grow the games. Even after our son was born he also go into PS3 and Wii. He is into some gaming unsure what though. Id like to get opinions on what NES baseball games plays the most accurate. I could never play with a controller with dozen buttons. Im find with the simple NES controller. I think Sega-G Hardball and NES Bases Loaded was cool from memory. I live in Pennsylvania. Like to visit your store BUT Im not a long distance driver. I am SUBSCRIBED however.
Out of curiosity for N64 would you happen to have ( Pokemon Stadium 1 or 2, Mario Party 3, StarFox ) and also for PS2 would you happen to have Dragon Ball Z Budikai 2?
Rick be careful with the Mario and peach drink cans , the liquid can eventually eat through the can I had this happen with a Batman Mountain Dew can that was unopened and it sorta like leaked out all over where I had the can displayed
I'll say that Wata is going to win the WC game. Pat the nes punk said I think and feel that what ever it sale for his WC should and will get 2x or 3x ,because his is better shape
You know it be really cool if you did video series saving enough money from profits to get nes track and field or another rare game. I would axe the Lego Mario. There is already so much Mario statues in the store.
How can I buy a Retro t-shirt from the store? I'v emailed and sent messages on FB and nobody every replies. I'm hurt. I just want a "retro" shirt. Please guys. HMU.
Sorry but the idea that anyone would pay 100k for that piece of plastic is absolutely insane. It is not and will never be valuable in the way cars or furniture are. Glad you're enjoying yourself but bro, no way.
I get that it's rare. But a game for 150k is dumb. Really dumb.
It's not a game! It's an investment! To sell to the next dumb person :)🤣
When no one wins the challenge the money should go into a pool to increase the next challenge fund. Just keep rolling it over.
You should probably axe the Lego Mario. Well done as it is, it's not a museum piece, ya know?
Agreed, plus it’s a bit redundant with the first display being Mario themed. Maybe replace the LEGO Mario with Megaman.
I agree.
Agreed
Agreed.
I agree with all mega man games
This makes me feel poor. I mean 150k would be life changing cash. Life is so imbalanced.
