How is the Waistbelt different from the previous Guidelight Frame that also had the 3-Piece Waistbelt? The previous 3-Piece Waistbelt Guidelight had slippage issue and was not gripping the waist, specially during rain. That was fixed with the 5-piece Guidelight MT. These are still made in Vietnam? With Yeti now owning Mystery Ranch, will these be the last Vietnam-made Hunting Packs? Thanks
Agree, last time we were told a 3 piece waist belt just doesn’t cut it and 5 piece was the answer. Now we’re back to 3 piece but it’s better because they’ve used a new foam! Let me guess, version after this will be 5 piece with the new foam! I can see their problem from a business model perspective. MR packs are bombproof; proper military grade gear that will last a lifetime. To make money however they need to keep selling packs so have to make us think that the next generation is so much better than the last etc. they’re trying to make it a fashion concept: “Oh, you’ve got the guide light MT frame; that’s so 2022!!!”
@@DerUnbbekante you are correct, with the caveat that I think some of the wildland firefighting packs may be built in Montana. Last time I was in the factory I thought I saw them building those as well as some military packs. The hunting packs are built in Vietnam
Not really any improvement and won’t tempt me to upgrade from my current Metcalf (which IMHO was a step change from the version before it and I did swap out that time). A few gimmicks to try and make us think we need to spend $100s more!
Missed the side access zipper
