- This week's build is this quirky little fire/light hybrid spec. I forgot to touch on stats on the video, but it's basically just 156 strength for Monarch and then rest into vitality.

This is a so cool series of video! Love it. That build especially remember my very begining of diablo 2. But back in the day, the build was better even without awesome stuff like you have.
Phoenix runeword really is nice. I enjoy my nova/fireball sorc, would be something Id consider trying to make on D2R.

Full Trang? Monkas. I'll look into it but no promises. Definitely struggling with the necro builds for this series, since it's by far my least played class.
1 hp tick from fire aura for what? That's a pvp thing, mobs die to poison.

This looks like a fun build, my dude. I liked playing Frost Nova sorc in Path of Diablo for the same reason. Just feels satisfying to use any nova skill.

Love the build and the video! Take all the time in between videos you want, no rush. 2 questions on the build. is it more fun than playing an es/max tk nova sorc with splitting points between vita and energy? That's how I was planning to design a nova pit sorc, but this looks fun too. Secondly, in pits specifically I think defiance merc gives more safety than HF and it also solves the blue boss pack issue. I recommend trying it out. And agreed, oculus can suck it. EDIT: just heard the part about p5 being better than p3 for redemption flashing. Haha love that detail.
The key difference I suppose is being able to Fireball the archers. They feel like a real pain in the A even when running Crescent Moon or something. Even the low synergy fireball is very good in the Pits for blowing up the arhcers. Archers are also the main reason I like the Holy Freeze: slows their attack speed and prevents them from scattering. It's a bit hard to put the archers into hit recovery lock with Nova.
My go to early game farmer was always fb/orb. Always had a lot of fun with that. This looks super fun tho! Will have to try this.

Amazing video, as always. Here is (are?) my two cents - you could use four pieces of Tal Rasha's Wrappings (everything but belt), Arachnid's Mesh belt , Magefist gloves, Griffon's Eye diadem and War Traveler's boots. This combo gives you exactly 105 fcr and additional minus 15 % fire and lighting res (from Tal Rasha's Lidless Eye), which is huge and definitely better than bonuses from Eschuta's (well, in my opinion ofc). Can't use Griffon's with Tal's helmet. However, the Orb is actually a pretty legit weapon option with one 10FCR ring. When I was laying down the plans for this video couple of weeks ago, I actually meant to point it out as an option, but I guess I forgot in the end. Good catch!

@@hincolo It sure is, man. I was a big fan of that game when I was a kid. Some time, years and years ago, I needed to pick up a profile pic to use on some forums. I threw the pic of Thufir there on a whim and it kinda stuck :)
@@Sicktoid Yep, it was one of my favourite games too! The first time I played it I was little kid and I didn't understand a single word, haha (it is an English game after all and I'm from Poland). A few years later I discovered Frank Herbert's books in my parents' bookshelf and started reading them... One of the best (if not THE best) science fiction sagas I've ever read.
@@hincolo Yea Dune is a beautiful series of books with a great setting. Recently re-read the first three books in preparation for the new movie adaptation that's coming up.
You should try a Fury Werewolf with an Ethereal Tomb Reaver with 2 40/15 jewels and Shael, or just 3 shaels. Use reapers toll on merc of course, might aura. Max Werewolf, Lyncanthrophy, Heart of Wolverine, Feral Rage, Fury. Load up on damage charms with added run speed. Use Enigma as armor. I think you can guess the rest of the good items. Wolf can’t teleport but Enigma adds run speed. Always keep Feral Rage active. The kill speed on this if used properly is unmatched as far as melee damage is concerned. Having a very fast run speed helps fury kill way faster if you’re killing things in 1 or 2 hits. The attack speed and power on tomb reaver is insane and it has long range.
2x 40/15 and a Shael will serve you well... for about 5 minutes before your eth Tomb Reaver breaks from durability loss :D
But I have played fury druid with eth Tombie a bit. I was lucky enough to drop one in singleplayer. It's a fun char for sure.

i remember i used to play 1.08 and 1.09 back in the day on bnet but then friends started quitting after awhile so I quit too. There werent all these runewords back in the day. it was mostly uniques and rares like windforce, and 160ed/60ias armour etc.
Now that they have fixed firewall I wonder if nova firewall would be better for keys Andy and meph

I used to play these kinds of builds in classic 1.09 and they where really popular. Then after the 1.10 patch update nova just stopped dealing damage
I remember those days. In 1.10 they buffed monster HP and introduced skill synergies so basically every damage skill without synergies became obsolete. Kinda surprising that Nova still gets some work done even now, but it's nothing like the glory days of course :)
on hc oculus saves me more often than it messes things up. i love it but to each their own cx
The reason I dislike Oculus for this build is because you are quite often in the thick of things given Nova's short range. So you'll unavoidabley get hit more than a regular Lightning build would for example. Getting ping-ponged around by the Oculus procs is just too annoying for me to deal with.
