With the 2.4 changes this build looks spicy. I'll start leveling one up, only eth Hone Sudan for now, but I'll spend my treasured single player Zod on a BOTD if I end up liking it. Impale might become useful in bossfights too now, and evade/avoid should be great too.

you get a Like for this build for explaining the dodge and avoid mechanics, many melee builds for amazon dont explain and show what you did on 1 minute 50 . perfect job. i hope in D2 resurrected this will be fixed
Great video! I have a Fender but haven't been able to make a BotD weapon for her although that is my goal. Currently using an upgraded Lycander's Flank. I do have a point each in Dodge/Avoid/Evade because I wanted Valkyrie, I've respecced her a couple of times back and forth and found I prefer her that way. If you reposition your Valkyrie and Decoy you can Fend from just behind them and still get lots of hits with little chance of getting yip-locked. It is fun, though, to let yourself get completely surrounded and do enormous 12-attack Fend sequences and for sure to do that you have to skip D/A/E and Valk. One small thing I'd add: The attack rating bonus of Penetrate and Blessed Aim will NOT work together! If you're under the influence of a Blessed Aim aura you don't get the bonus from Penetrate even if the Penetrate has a higher value. I found out the hard way and then confirmed it here: www.theamazonbasin.com/wiki/index.php/Penetrate So don't use a Normal/Hell Defensive Act 2/Town Guard merc if you put any points into Penetrate.

Now, as a returning player, I am building around a fend / charged strike spearazon. No D/A/E. I must say she is quite a glass cannon, but I am enjoying her very much! 😊
She sure is. The only real defensive thing you got going is your life leech. if the evade talents worked properly and didn't cancel your attacks, she would be a truly strong melee character, I feel. As it is, she is mostly just a fun build you can play around with if you wanna do something different. Still viable but not the greatest :)
I remember way back in the day I made a fend amazon assuming it was like zeal and would work as a rapid attack against single targets too, and was severely disappointment it was slow and garbage against mobs. I wouldn't look up the viability of builds online, I just enjoyed experimenting, which is good, but I guess not when you waste several hours.
Yea, it can be kinda brutal, especially if you have to get really specific rare gear for a build. I usually try to figure things out by myself at first too, but I'll eventually go online and check if there's some sort of consensus on how to do it best... And I usually discover I've been doing it completely wrong :D
Have you tried using Impale? BotD is indestructable so weapon durability shouldn't be an issue (really my guess i never crafted BotD). Impale damage seems to be massive.
Impale has impressve Enhanced damage but the attack speed with it is so poor that Jab still ends up doing better single target dps. Should have adressed Impale on the video but it slipped my mind :D

I am that stubborn 😅 I did make my BOTD in a Mat Pike and the reason behind it is I went for the balance of Physical and Lightning damage. Lightning Strike is an underrated skill. Yep it's a meme build but I somehow make it work. 😁✌️
i would swich out the laying of hands gloves to life tap on hit gloves for super tankyness and gett the missing 20% ias from the gloves id get a rare circlet with sockets for more ias
On my Zon I use the 3 skill Amazon weapon and focus on lightening damage as with the spear at level 85 charge strike is at plus 5k with 10 charges, maxed jab, and some of the other synergies like lightening strike which is doing plus 5k damage at level 88. I got lucky and found an eth 3 skill Matriarchal Spear which gives the build a very high minimum damage and it's really fast. I think the minimum is something like plus 3k. Merc is using the green arura weapon and the 45 ias armor that I made with a Black Hades as I found some ias jewels with demon damage/rating that added to the armor so I used it, lol. I plan on up'ing the armor when the merc has enough strength. You'd love a build like this as you can one shot the bosses in player 3 at times and it only takes a few hits in players 8. I don't like fend so I never use it just jab, charge strike, and lightening strike. For my assassins' I run into the same problem with the block rate interrupting the attacks so I switched to using Dragons Tale that has knockback and it works great plus I get some fire damage added to the mix.
The lack of dodge/evade bothered me just as much. I only reached like a max of 1500 life or so. Believe I went jav and did a fury/jab hybrid using an ethereal jav which wasn't cheap.
Laying of Hands over a +2 jav/20 gloves ? (and possibly crushing blow with Blood crafting) Nice build but it convinced me to not try it (not before i farm a lot more at least).
Why do you want to switch to jab on single targets? Faster attacks? Great video as always. But idk if I'll ever get around to making this one :P. Does the merc not die to conviction council without rals in his gear? Keep up the good work!
Against a single target, Fend has an attack speed equal to that of a normal no-skill attack. theamazonbasin.com/wiki/index.php/Fend_attack_speed Using Sicktoid's example you would have a standard and one-target Fend attack at 11 frames with a War Pike and the other gear he exhibited at 125 IAS. But Jab will have a 6.33-frame attack, not quite twice as fast per attack but much faster. (As a side note, Jab can be interrupted by D/A/E just like Fend.)

I wish it was similar to zeal and it just made extra attacks against single target if there were not enough enemies around :D And yeah the merc can die to conviction sometimes if I can't manage to jab down the source fast enough... But that would be a noob mistake. I'm definitely above such a thing happening. kappa.

Get some sort of life tap source in there, better resistances, some extra AR and maybe a little more dmg reduction and you should be good. Could swap Enigma to Chains of Honor, gloves to Drac's and prebuff with Enchant from Demon Limb. That would probably do it.

I always had a max block, high energy shield sorc, she owned hell lol. i coul't play anything else , she spoilled me lol.
I really enjoyed my fend zon years ago. They were very strong in 1.09.

If you wanna go true physical/lightning hybrid, it's probably not bad. I still recommend Warpike for versatility :)

Depends on the area you wanna gear yourself towards, I suppose. I believe LoH for Travincal or Baal runs is the best pick on this character.
