They went in Italian for dolmio ads but it was made in the Netherlands. McCain do a lot of potatoes based stuff. You need to see the original version of the Cadbury gorilla ad. What you saw was the remixed second or third version, as for starburst. They used to be called opal fruits here and only the usual fruit flavours.
@3:52, that's Hugh Dennis doing the voiceover. @9:58, that's Leslie Phillips, who appeared in a series of films called 'Carry on...' films. One of his catchphrases was "Ding Dong". It's a lot of fun seeing an American seeing what we saw growing up, although some adverts here were after I stopped watching so much TV. That ad at the end is for a ride at Alton towers. The ride opened in 2013. This ad came out in 2014 and then in 2015, there was quite a serious incident that occurred on the ride that caused injuries to several riders, 2 of whom ended up needing amputations. I’ve still never been on the rollercoasters, not because of the accident or anything, but because it’s only been open once in all the times I’ve gone and the one time it was open, I had a pounding headache and didn’t want to make it worse.
The dingdong guy in the Shreddies ad is Lesley Philips, that is his catchphrase. Has played slightly sleazy characters leering at women since the Carry on films in the 1950s Wonderful actor appeared in many films
Interesting thing about the Cadbury ad: not long before, there had been a bit of a scandal, because there had been traces of salmonella in the chocolate. After getting their shit in order, they then decided they needed an ultimate ad campaign, one that would get the name of Cadbury in peoples' faces in a good way. The drumming gorilla was the result.

I can remember being at school with one of those tvs on wheels they used to use and our teacher was trying to talk to us prior to the programme starting but quickly realised the entire class had heads at 45° to look behind him. After a moment he admitted defeat and let us watch the ice skating car before continuing lol
I sure hope the OXO ads with Linda Bellingham are in this video or you dropped the ball, JT! Love your vids ❤ English bird approved.
I've been watching you for a long time and I love to see you just getting better and better confident and love and respect to you and your Mrs and your pets
The Cravendale ad Cats with Thumbs should have been on this, one of my all-time favourite adverts.
One of my bosses was one of the kids in the jaffa cake advert. Fully his claim to fame ❤
I still love the tango ad plus the Cadbury ad with the gorilla ✌️
HI IM BARRY SCOTT! ....Classic and its statement "bang n the dirt is gone!" Is a term used to describe many different thing 😅
The guy in the sauna on the specsavers ad is the same guy who voiced the monkey on the coco pops ads.
Thanks Jack, n Victor
Cravendale cats with thumbs
@11:34 "You wouldn't shoot a policeman and then steal his helmet. You wouldn't go to the toilet in his helmet and then send the helmet to the policeman's grieving widow"
Only on sundays
So much nostalgia in one video i forgot about some of these adverts. ❤
Loved the Cadbury gorilla. Will say our Irn Bru adverts are on a whole new level instead of Tango though lol.
Whose old enough to remember some kids ear drums being burst because of the Tango advert? 😂
'Barry Scott. The only man who thought he needed to shout so you could hear him through the telly'
The flake ads with the song on are classic ones and shake n vac.
The real Cadbury gorilla ad is absolutely brilliant. The version you showed doesn't come anywhere close.
My favourite Specsavers ad is the one at the vets.
You have the best accent…I’m British an wish I had an accent the same…I could listen to you all day ❤️ x
I just died the other year. I think he was about 98.
That's the late Sir John Hurt doing the narration @12:52.
Great video! It's a lot of fun seeing an American seeing what we saw growing up, although some adverts here were after I stopped watching so much TV. Also that Cadbury's eyebrows advert has to be the most annoying advert of all time and I remember Crazy Frog!
That Tango advert was the cause of so many playground injuries as kids went around "Tangoing" one another.
Wait till JT sees the D.O.E Adverts they honestly have me scarred for life. I can remember them perfectly till this day 😂
Cadbury is pronounced more like cad-bree, rather than cad-berry, still tastes the same though 😂 remember all these ads
Cad-berry and that's final, cad-brie is just too close to the cheese
I say cad-bu-ree. I'm Scottish.
Um, I've ALWAYS pronounced it as Cad-berry.
Not sure what lah-di-dah part of the UK you're from!
The dingdong guy in the Shreddies ad is Lesley Philips, that is his catchphrase. Has played slightly sleazy characters leering at women since the Carry on films in the 1950s
Wonderful actor appeared in many films
Interesting thing about the Cadbury ad: not long before, there had been a bit of a scandal, because there had been traces of salmonella in the chocolate. After getting their shit in order, they then decided they needed an ultimate ad campaign, one that would get the name of Cadbury in peoples' faces in a good way. The drumming gorilla was the result.
My brother used to mock that lelli keller advert it was absolutely hilarious I still remember it today
I can’t watch the cilit bang ad without thinking about kitchen gun now😂
ohhh you should watch a Thailand advert called sisters. its not in English but I think when you watch it you'll understand and it may even make you cry.
The Guiness Tick follows tock advert should have definatly been in there. And for the chewits, personally I think the "I like to chewit, chewit" one was better where the godzilla is using 2 buses to rollerskate. Oooh & don't forget the Umbongo advert 😁😁😁
10:00 Leslie Phillips, absolute legend .. ding dong!
Love that they got Leslie Phillips in on the Shreddies advert there.
