Every British viewers cheeks are hurting from smiling and JT is beginning to understand our sense of humour. 😂Belly, belly, belly, belly. 😂
And Ireland we British TV over here and 😂
😂😂 we're all having proud father moments!
The Orange and the PSP advert definitely weren't British
Saw a brilliant story of someone on another page about belly’s advert saying that his dad used to get his belly out and chase his kid around the house singing ‘belly’s gonna get ya!’ And it sums up working class British family’s life perfectly! 😂
its a shame its not like that any more :(
JT, we say people with fake tan have been tango'd lol when they look too orange.
They filmed part of that Reebok belly advert outside my dad’s work, i remember him coming home and telling me and my brothers that he’s just seen a giant belly running around 😂
The crusher ad just unlocked a memory!! I absolutely loved that advert 😂 it’s going to be in my head all day now.
Made by Joel Veitch if I'm any judge. Very much in the style of his old flash animations from rathergood anyway
It was rather good....
@@irreverend_ he wouldn't be the only Flash animator who got into the TV advert lark in the early 2000s; Jonti Picking (of Weebl & Bob fame) did a few as well.
@@tommcewan7936"118 247, give them a call it's directory heaven"
Featured Magical Trevor in the ad (had to as it was the magical Trevor tune).
He did the Anchor Spreadable one too.
@@irreverend_ Still remember the first time encountering Rathergood, wasted on a Friday night watching channel four and out of nowhere comes Cow cube, Cowube!
Tango bought out a large can called Tango With Added Tango. It took the censors a while to notice what the first letters said, the Ads were banned and those cans are pretty rare!
ahahha i just noticed now when you mentioned it😂 spells tw@ hahaha
@@allanallen1835yeah.. it was in massive letters down the side of the can 👌🏻🤣🤣
The peperami adverts were savage 🤣🤣🤣
Tango advert is 'taste my bubbles' 😅
He needs to see the Tango adds from the early 90's, especially the one that got changed as the original was banned, "You know when you've been Tango'd"
Peperami. It's a bit of an animal. We all know what bit that is.
@@user-hu7pm2yd4u 😂😂😂
@@HalfdeadRider The big orange fella comes in from the left!
And voiced by Ade Edmondson!
In the UK we have something called "the watershed". This means all programmes and adverts should be suitable for all before 9pm but after 9pm what's shown on TV can be aimed at an adult audience.
A lot of these were before the watershed, that tango one is the only after watershed. PSP one I couldn't tell you.
@@grumpyhale821no way the pot noodle one was pre watershed.
20 minutes of JT being traumatized by ads 🤣😂🤣
I'm crying laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣bless him.
Therapy time 😂😂😂😂
😂😂
The Slag of All Snacks!! haha
The bouncer slapping him was what got me.
Did they ban that advert, cos it had the word "slag" in it?
@@FieldmasterFox yeah apparently over 300 people complained about it.
@@jamiep9991 It must have taken them a long time because I remember watching this advert when I was a kid.
The Orange Tango adverts with the half naked bald orange bloke should be on this list
"You know when yove been Tango'd!"
Absolutely agree!
It's Matt Lucas of Little Britain!
If you're traumatised by these few adverts imagine all the adverts we had over here growing up 🙈😆 though it probably explains the insensitive/dark side to british humour. Adverts desensitised us from childhood upwards 😂
You have to understand jt was brought up with tv censors using 1950's decency laws. So tango apple advert would not air til after 10pm
Moose loose aboot this hoose, wine gums ❤ john West salmon man v Bear
The water in Mallorca, doesn’t taste how it ought to
Totally agree with op
That Pot Noodle advert - I actually remember that. It was indeed broadcast. Your reaction was priceless lol
Normally I despise advertising (Orwell called it "the rattling of a stick in a swill bucket") but I will admit a fair amount of misapplied creativity and cleverness goes into some of them. The Pot Noodle one was undeniably hilarious if you knew the cultural context. Pot Noodles had literally been the punchline to jokes for years already - especially in sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, that show *really* loved to have a go at them!
@@tommcewan7936 I love Red Dwarf and yes agree. I think there was a sketch in the Young Ones too about Pot Noodle.
Agreeing to everything here. It did air.. several with this tagline.
I'm surprised they got away with the word 'slag'... I presume it was a watershed advert... I mean, if Peggy Mitchell can use it in Eastenders, I guess it's good post-watershed.
Since you don't have them, yes, it's a simple flavoured dried noodle snack in a cup... Add hot water and your are good to go. I remember a couple of retro bars I've been in (Fab Café for the U.K Folk) where you could drink 8 pints of beer and buy one at the bar, water it up and in a really ill-fated decision eat it and carry on drinking and trying to pull girls............. never, ever successfully.
Their (hugely artificial and no doubt bad for you) flavours are really good though. Sadly, being in Australia now, I'm limited to "Chicken & Mushroom" and "Bombay Badboy" if I can find them.. And I'm the worst of the bunch, because I'm a "Nice & Spicy" fan, which culinarily is probably the worst flavour... I don't think there's a natural flavouring in it.... but I LOVE it.
According to folklore A sprite is a mischievous fairy creature generally inhabits woodland
Also ,a form of lighting, that shoots up from the clouds, rather than between clouds and Earth.
The pepperami are angry cos they are a bit of an animal. Even our dumb old adverts have some level of genius to them lol!
Peperami is actually bits of several animals.
Bellys gonna get ya
Bellys gonna get ya
Belly, belly, belly.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣How did I forget that 😂
Best Reebok advert
I still randomly repeat that lmao 🤣
@@michaelcole-hamer607Me too. Specifically when I'm attempting to run towards someone lol
Always sing it at bbq's 😆
Ad: The world "belly" is said on repeat while a large belly is on screen.
JT: What is that?
🤣
love how JT is so innocent he didnt know what slag ment xD
The "some celebrity" on the Cravendale milk ad was, of course, Anthony Head, otherwise known as Ripper, or Giles the librarian in Buffy.
The most entertaining part of this was watching your face during the slightly more ‘adult friendly’ ads….. lol
YES ALL APPROVED IN THE UK , but some of these would have been aired after the 9pm watershed so that younger viewers won't be influenced by anything . After 9pm these ads are allowed and any shows or ads that have X RATED OR R RATED materials are shown after 10pm . Yes after 10pm anything goes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 .
Cravendale cats with aposable thumbs is fantastic. The Gorilla Cadburys ad is never forgotton, welcom to real UK humour.
Cadburys Gorilla playing a Phill Collins song is so underrated.
I remember seeing that Pot Noodle ‘Slag’ advert when I was a kid 😂😂 your reaction at your age is gold!
Peperami 1993!?! WTF? I remember that like yesterday. I am too old!
JT is far too innocent for our Pot Noodle and Apple Tango. 😝
I always remember the 'come back and finish me off' one. The campaign is still going now with a slightly lamer tagline, ironically which I can't remember!
Sprite is a mythical goblin, up to mischief!! Not the drink. The advert means to ask for the drink Sprite or you may get the other🤣🤣
The tango stuff was soo good back then. at school we would phone the hot lines from the ads, they were legit funny recorded msgs as well. then ofc later they done the slap ones that everyone copied until it got banned. i must say the apple tango is good stuff lol
Mate I used to watch that Pot Noodle ad in between Dexter’s Lab and Cow and Chicken on Cartoon Network when I was a wee laddie! 😂
Watching these make me proud to be British 😂
The best British ads ever were all for Cadburys. The Cadburys Smash aliens could make even the most miserable person laugh and the Dairy Milk drumming gorilla is just beautiful to watch
Cadbury's Caramel ads in the 80s too!
@@grahamross6397 That was one sexy bunny
The crusha ad is like in the back of minds, that until someone else watches it, you forgot about it.
Me and my sister regularly sing it to each other as an in joke between us. That and Shakes Jake the milkshake!
There's so many of these adverts that still live rent free in my brain. Can't tell you how many times Crusha song pops into my head 🤣🤣
'bellys gunna get ya' x500 with a huge ass belly chasing him.
'Is ThAt A bElLy?!?!'
And the title of the ad being 'Belly'😂
Man the reaction to Belly did me. Perfect reaction to that advert! 😂
Enjoying watching adverts while getting annoyed while adverts appear during the video. 😂
Belly was my favourite ad as a kid. Mom wrapped my South Park bean bag up for Christmas and wrote bellies gonna get ya on it 😂
Your face on the Pot Noodles😂😂😂😂
Jt reaction to our ads is funny as hell
Damn British adverts are just something else
I remember seeing that pot noodle ad on TV 😂 and yes there were complaints by the public 😂
The 90s and 00s really were a different time 😂
The 90's were the best decade
That Crusha ad must've been made by the Badger Bagder Mushroom guys.
The ones for 118 247 used his Magical Trevor material, I even think Weebl was involved.
@@grahamross6397 Straight through!
Close!! It was made by TH-camr @cyriak - and this is just the tip of the weirdness iceberg as far as his videos are concerned haha!
@@uphoriakTH-cam didn’t exist when the ad was made, back then it was inspired by the animations from the website b3ta.
@@uphoriakThe ad was made before youtube existed, back then it was inspired by the flash animations from rathergood or b3ta.
LOL at the shock on the pot noodle ad! Here we have the watershed so adverts can contain basically anything after 9pm. What would terrify me more as an american would be the pharmaceutical ads over there in the states...Ozempic advert in the morning for kids to see?! Hell no thank you.
"Bellies gonna get ya" is still quoted to this day over here. Lots of love from county Durham UK xxx
I remember all these ads and yes the pot noodle one did air on tv 😊 The tango is an apple fizzy drink, it says "Taste My Bubbles"
There was a phase in the 90s of portraying products as causing sexual like fettish's. Both the Tango and the Pot Noodle adverts were not only approved but shown at times when they could be seen by kids.
I think I can remember a few people got up on arms over the Pepperoni adverts as being too violent 🤣
Those ads bring back memories. Some of them definitely leave you scratching your head 😂
JT have you seen the meerkat ads, well worth a watch.
Watch out, watch out, watch out, there's a Humphry about.
especially the Muhammed Ali one :)
We are currently sat eating tea, with a can of apple tango watching this 🤣 we nearly spat our food out hahaha
Watching JT as he is in disbelief that some of these Ads actually aired on tv is the funniest reaction ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and yes, YOP drinks are lush
Yes they were all on British T.V. Tango adverts were always a little unhinged. One had to be banned after it caused kids to make their friends deaf. As for the Rebok add, I still say it at times even now.
Belly gonna get ya.
loved the Tango one with that classic Monty Python line "run away"
Song is repeating "belly's gonna get you, belly's gonna get you..." JT an hour later, "is that a belly?!" 🤣 no shit Sherlock! 😛
You got Tango'd .. made you speechless (it's about the drink tango) 😂😂
It’s funny watching sheltered Americans realise the rest of the world is more creative with advertising
Yes, you can still get Yop over here. I’m 51 from the UK and I’ve just realised, I don’t think I’ve ever tried it 🤔
I never realized how much of a British humor i have until i watched these adds.
I remember a lot of pot noodles but I've never seen that one that was brilliant 😂
I do know most of these ads though brought back some memories especially the peperami adverts lol.
I loved that Advert " Belly's gonna get ya, Belly's gonna get ya belly belly belly belly!" Lol 😂
I remember being told at school that we weren't allowed to slap each other in the playground after the orange 'you've been tango'ed' ad.
Our British ads are far better than US ads. Ours are humorous and quite often weird whereas the US ads seem to contain loads of warnings about potential side effects and disclaimers.
You could do a whole video on weird Tango adverts over the years.
Try calling it again, dial +44 and ignore the first 0
didnt expect to see my number one obsession (The Smiler) in here 🤣literally as it appeared on screen i was taking a sip of tea from my smiler mug
I remember the Pot Noodle advert but can’t believe they put the word slag in it!!!… Must of aired late night surely
The people of the UK have weird senses of humour
And we're proud of it
Pretty sure the animation with the squashed cow was by youtuber Cyriak. It was pretty tame by cyriak standards. The PS2 ad was by Chris Cunningham, the same guy who make windowlicker and come to daddy.
I had a Yop yoghurt drink just yesterday so, yes, still a thing!
I remember an advert where a guy bungee jumped, and had his head bitten off by a croc, although it got banned pretty quickly 😂
And there was one where a guy opens his mouth and a dog kinda thrusts his head out, that was a bad breath one, maybe for tic tacs? Got banned too 😂
Did you actually bother to WATCH the video?
Dog breath was #2!
@@AndrewHalliwell I wrote it before I watched lol just after I posted, the video came in, it wasn’t that one in particular but I remember there was a few of them for the same product.
The bungee jump might have coincided with (or even referenced) the Noels' House Party stunt in which someone did a bungee jump and there was a miscalculation for the length of the bungee cord and the guy doing the jump died.
@@richardhockey8442 Little bit mixed up there, methinks.
The show was "The Late Late Breakfast Show"
The segment was where a random member of the public was offered the chance to perform a stunt. The stunt in question that week was meant to be escapology stunt that involved him being locked in a safe, dangled by a crane by a burning cable.
But the cable snapped, plummeting the safe into the ground and killing the occupant.
And that was the end of The Late Late Breakfast show. And the birth of Noel's House Party.
You been tango was a hit in every school in UK. Can still feel some the slaps I got 30 years later 😂
lol your reaction to the pot noodle advert killed me. Childhood memories
Plenty kitchen wipes! One sheets a plenty!! 😂😂
the tango one is the best one especially back in school after ya crack some one in the chops "you've been tango'd"
The belly had me dying then the tango advert made me cough up a lung 😂😂😂😂
JT the look on your face is priceless. Thanks for the laughs at 8:00 am 😂😂😂
The best tango advert is the fat orange man that gives a slap
Brilliant ads, I remember when they 1st came out. The Peperami ads saying a bit of an animal are still around today. Your face with the belly...brilliant!
Cravendale tag line; “So good the cows want it back!”
Oh man some of those brought back memories. I had forgotten that Crusha one. Brilliant
I laughed so much through this JT your reactions are priceless 😂😂
the reaction to the reebok belly and Tango LOL
Belly’s gonna get ya was iconic.
I just loved your reaction to the Apple Tango I was in having a coffee at my local coffee shop and I was sitting at the table watch this. I burst out laughing at your reaction, people just turned and stared at me. Lived this 😂❤😂❤😂❤
We need to see Anna's reaction to these adverts. 😅😂
Belly gonna get ya that was iconic 😂
"That was the weirdest one."
Next ad: Hold my Tango.
I was hoping the old Nik Naks ad would be included in this 😅

Oprah did not film any scenes in Bradford. In fact I'm pretty sure than none of her scenes were filmed in the UK.
I'd forgotten that Katy Murphy apeared in adverts
I've not stopped laughing yet ffs!! N I've actually just got out an apple tango to drink n nearly choked on it!! Hahahahha x
My word I needed that reaction today 😂
You should check out more Tango adverts, there's some awesome ones.😂❤
Ok, I think I now understand why American advertising is how it is.
"Whatttt, are they saying their drink is like a goblin?"
Mate. You've missed the concept of almost all of these
Americans simply don't understand satire.
omg jt your reactions were priceless...i couldnt stop laughing... back when they came out they were epic adverts. you should check out the orange tango advert to... thanks for making me lmao i needed that today xx
Shocked there was not more tango ads thought this would be full of them 😂
The Pepperami are angry and violent to signify the spiciness. Fun fact: the normal ones (not the one that gets flattened into donner meat) were voiced by British comedy legend Adrian Edmondson, long-time partner of Rik Mayall, of "The Young Ones" and "Bottom" fame. There was even a Pepperami *computer game* ("Animal") released as part of their rather off-the-wall marketing campaign.
As for the dreaded Pot Noodle, that advert was genius in its audacity. For some reason, that particular snack already had a really grubby reputation in the UK for decades by the time that advert aired (I think because they were perceived to be spectacularly unhealthy, and people weren't just eating them as a snack but in lieu of proper balanced meals; the recipe's been improved a bit in recent years), so apparently some madlad in the marketing team, realising how incredibly difficult it would be to try to improve their product's terrible image, decided to just lean hard into it instead!
Several of these adverts were actually banned, BTW. I remember that ghastly "dog breath" one, in particular, was banned almost immediately after it was first broadcast.
You had me from that chair turn 😂
I would love to see you share this with anna, your reactions were impeccable 👌
1990s immunization advert ring a ring a roses was a creepy one.... Etched in my skull that one for 30 years
Tango adverts used to run the phone numbers all the time.
I rang them all but for this one you got a "sexy" calendar of cans of Tango wearing sexy underwear.
It was hilarious and all I could think was "someone had to make a thong for a can of Tango" 🤣
I used to love these adverts when they were on TV. Your reaction to them made me laugh all over again. 'Belly's gonna get ya' has a special nostalgia.
I;m suprised the 'badly behaving boiler' didn't make the list
