I got a 3-door C, and I'm loving it. Most people compare it to the previous versions, but this new Mini is not meant to be a facelift of previous models. As a new approach, it rides well, looks nice and modern in person. The big screen is great and it comes packed with tech. The head-up display is lovely. The other day it was cold, and I noticed that it turned on the heated seats and steering wheel by itself. High beam lights also automatic. Can park by itself even in the tightest spaces (not that I need that, but it's nice to have). Lots of small nice things that make a difference. Even the smaller engine has enough power to put a smile on our face. The suspension feels a bit harsh sometimes, but I blame it on the cool 18" wheels and bad roads. Thumbs up to the dual clutch, which ensures both smooth ride and powerful speed changes. I could complain about some rigid plastics here and there, but which car doesn't have them nowadays? All in all, its difficult to find a true competitor in this segment.
Only thing I’d change inside is to have physical controls for the air conditioning. I’ve ordered the one with the Sports JCW pack. It looks better and has the paddles
I dunno why some people think they need an SUV when they don't, if you want boot space then most estate cars have more usable boot space than an SUV does
Why would they get rid of the Union Jack headlights on the rear? I’m a sucker for the Mini and am devastated by that change! It was one of the nicest touches!
I have the 73 plate Cooper S - I don't like the rear styling of this vehicle as the twin exhaust has always been a plus. It doesn't have sat nav which I don't mind as mini navigation hasn't always been the best. I agree with you! The 2.0 model definitely needs paddles.
At last a review of a car which isn’t an EV 👏 and what about the big elephant in the room with mini and bmw if you order any mini or certain bmw vehicles bmw won’t let the sales garage register the car for the road because of the braking problem with them and as of this moment the parts to fix them ain’t available I’ve ordered the countryman a month ago and it’s at the garage but it can’t be registered until the braking problem has been resolved and there is a few other customers minis and BMW’s in front of my car in the queue so it could be well into 2025 before I get my mini (hopefully not but time will tell 🤷♂️) the salesman is relying on second hand sales at the moment which for him is unsustainable!
Looks as it should look and I wonder if they'll have a works version. Now that would be worth the wait and make it a real S. Liked the quirkiness of the interior for driver and front seat passenger.
My wife has a previous gen (F32) I think. Much prefer that all around really and interior and exterior and the 1.5 3 cylinder engine (that I presume they still use), is ample on the 3 door. I do hope they still do a manual gearbox too as an auto mini takes away a lot of fun. Notice that the price was not even mentioned, with good reason as my word your paying even more now for this brand. Having said that though the build and handling are pretty much unsurpassed in a small car.
hmm, I have the 2022 version of this in black. I prefer my one I think. I like the old start button, the bonnet hump / bulge that makes it look a bit more muscular, prefer the old lights. The new screen is arguably better but.... meh
At least it's petrol and not a SUV. but the back end has gone wrong - no relationship to the original Mini design. I don't know how well that touchscreen would work on the move but the simpler dash is more true to the original, minus a parcel shelf on either side.
Love the interior, but I'll love MINI to do a proper SUV, like Toureg sized. Because of the premium pricing, you'll never get the space regardless of which segment car you get, Hatch, Clubman etc. Just call it a MINI MAXI and let people have the driver experience, cabinet etc, but feeling that in a full sized car
Mini is going to need to sell lots of their ICE cars to survive as the Chinese built the EV range is crazily overpriced and will struggle to sell. Shame that it still has very old tech chassis and engines without even mild hybrid, definitely mutton dressed as lamb.
Hi me and my friend have just started creating a pod cast, we love cars, just wondering if you'd like to join? In the podcast please let me know cheers! 🙏
That dinner plate screen will be a challenge to operate in the move. It's a shame the physical climate controls are gone. That augmented reality sat nav is very clever! Though it might be better on the heads up display like the ID3.
Why on earth do the straps not have a function? if they were elastic they would be great you could strap your phone / a pen & pad / whatever - it would have been fun quirk of the car but instead its just there to remind you its pointless
@ If cleaning exhaust pipes is considered a hassle, when the car body is so much more. All minis have tailpipes with music to the ears. New mini decides to make it cheap by giving music notes inside the cabin. The new minis are woke…..
Very bland and sparse interior plus it looks cheap. Many cars being promoted on car channels are electric when the public don’t want them and are definitely not buying them.
That’s a vegan interior😅. Mini wont be using chrome again in any of there models hence becoming completely eco friendly. If you love a petrol mini, I would say this is your last chance to buy one. From next iteration onwards it’s only electric 😢
The design is dull. I’m sure it’s very efficient and well made but, for an expensive car it lacks a wow factor. Minis are way too big to be mini and a “go kart” mode is curious for such a large car. It all looks like a low res computer render of a car rather than a real car and loses both the cheeky prettiness and sporty overtones. Very dull and not very BMW premium. I bet it doesn’t even feel urgent or responsive. Fail!
It’s awful! Cheap Chinese plastics and interior MINI sold its soul and this is what they now are barely see any new minis on the road MINI deserves to fail! For turning its back on
Actually you might not see many on the road because they held back delivery because of a BMW / MINI Brake Recall. Plenty demo models around and owners getting the new cars. Petrols are built in Oxford, only the New EV,s in China.
To me, it's more Mini than the previous version. The tail lights were to big on the previous one. Interior has pluses and minusess compared to the old model.

Glad to see someone still making petrol cars and thanks for reviewing it
The exterior and interior of the new Mini is just beautiful and modern. Thanks for the video.

😊 great item in an autumn setting.

The 3 door Sport looks superb
I have a mini paceman all4. It can cost a lot for some repairs, but it's still a decent car.
10:55 Its a 1.5 petrol not a 1.6.
Love the interior, not sold on the 5 door body shape. Oddly proportioned. 3 door looks better.

It’s great to review a 2.0L engine. I like the car, but that tail end would put me off. 👍🚙👍
❤❤❤❤🎉
It’s beautiful😍, it suits you.✌🏻
I’ve got a 2022 MINI Electric, love it is made in Oxford👍🏻
Good call to review a petrol car, specially one made locally. The internals of the mini feature a lot of eye candy.
I would remove this type of HUD and add one that projects on the glass ad i would add usual driver display too
is this an automatik?
Looks as it should look and I wonder if they'll have a works version. Now that would be worth the wait and make it a real S. Liked the quirkiness of the interior for driver and front seat passenger.
Prefer the older model.

No manual available any more 😟
Hi, Tish 💙
Beautiful, cute and looks like fun! The Mini ain't bad either! 😂 Seriously, it was a great review as always.

Really not a fan of the odd looking 5 door version BUT the main put off for me is there`s NO manual gearbox option available in any new Mini..
Its a 1.5 litre engine in the base version.
no manual option

Actually MINI / BMW need to sell lots of EV,s built in China. 22% of them or be fined £15,000 on every car they sell.
Hi me and my friend have just started creating a pod cast, we love cars, just wondering if you'd like to join? In the podcast please let me know cheers! 🙏
It's about time they dropped the cartoon Circular clock no point giving a nod to the original mini they are now so far removed from the original.
Love the car, but dash is a big let down and everything is concentrated onto central screen that is dangerous , give me the previous car ❗️🧐
That dinner plate screen will be a challenge to operate in the move. It's a shame the physical climate controls are gone.
That augmented reality sat nav is very clever! Though it might be better on the heads up display like the ID3.
Voice control solves that.
You're wrong it's a 3 seater in the back
Is it really?????? Wow that must be a tiny middle seat
Why on earth do the straps not have a function? if they were elastic they would be great you could strap your phone / a pen & pad / whatever - it would have been fun quirk of the car but instead its just there to remind you its pointless
That screen is far too big imo and looks like a clock has been left on the dash 😂.
Petrol cars without the tailpipes, the designer must have got a stroke while designing it.
Why should exhaust pipes be visible?
I have one car with and one without. The one without looks sleeker and is easier to keep clean.
@ If cleaning exhaust pipes is considered a hassle, when the car body is so much more.
All minis have tailpipes with music to the ears. New mini decides to make it cheap by giving music notes inside the cabin.
The new minis are woke…..
🤢 good review but no 🤢
Looks bland and bit tacky in places ❤
Very bland and sparse interior plus it looks cheap. Many cars being promoted on car channels are electric when the public don’t want them and are definitely not buying them.
Not a fan of the interior, very bland and lights at the rear look awful.
What car would you recommend then?
I am interested in this bc of the interior, if you like others which one?
Bland compared to what? Which cars in this price range have the more exciting interiors in your opinion?
@@Fallingtonthe previous gen mini 🤷🏼♂️
That’s a vegan interior😅.

Bland compared too…?
A MINI should be built in UK. Not i China!
@@marcuswennerholm1770 good this one is then?
I love old design old school looks but this is garbage
Interior quality has definitely taken a step down from the previous model

Just not as classy as the previous model.

Not mini and not cute anymore.
Totally ruined the shape
