    Thank you so much! Used this to swap the working screen of a water damaged DSI with a broken top screen DSI. Struggled for 3 hours with an IFixIt guide, but found your video and managed to finish up quickly! :D

    This is some pretty interesting stuff. Is this footage of a repair for a DSi that a customer sent in? Also, you guys should invest in a higher definition camera that captures in 1080p for better detail.

    Thanks for the video! You did a great job! I like how you showed us how you rolled the ribbon cables together. I have hardly found anyone who shows this part because they always have the camera pointed the other way. I appreciate that a lot! This will be very helpful on the 3DS as well. I heard some people cut a plastic straw very short and put it through the opening, to pass the cables through easier. The metal ring can at times cut the ribbon cables. I can attest to that. I tried it on some broken DSi/3DS systems i bought for myself and easily ripped the cables. Be very gentle and take your time with them!

    well, it's an old video, I know, but if you pull out the LED channels (the bit that has the power, charging, and wifi LEDs), you can just push the hinge pin out, instead of pulling it and risking damage.

      Can you explain this a bit. Just ruined my screens ribbon and bought a new one just now so I want as much tips as possible...

      @@hakimdurand8427 it's probably not relevant anymore, but they meant the other side, the one without the ribbon cable: Instead of pulling the black bit (responsible for holding the top half in 160 and 180 degrees) with a screw driver, one can just push it in after removing the LED light tunnel bit,

    So my dsi top screen was fading to white i could still see it but the colors are lighter and was worried it would black out and need to know what part is having a problem from watching this video and taking it apart again the screen is better but is a tiny bit dull.

    my dsi has no damage to the hinge but still does this does that mean I can just reconnect the screens ribbon cable

    Do you know if dsi needs all components to power on? someone gave me a broken dsi with the top part hanging down from the two cables, screen ribbon cable and camera module cable (i dont know if ribbon cable is the correct term). The ribbon cables are completly destroyed. I can replace the screen and the shell easily but i cant find the camera module ribbon cable anywhere but ebay or alliexpress. Is it necessary to have the camera module working for the dsi to boot up? i realy dont care if the cameras are working.

    My 4 screws for the top half are covered with a silver like wrap. I can't unscrew them.

    • @swavvyrico2360
      @swavvyrico2360 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ashfly No. The problem is that the silver coating is a thick, scratch resistant Finish. I can't penetrate a layer of that silver. It's like really hard and it's like a foil type paper,but extremely thick. I tried everything so far. Nothing. Not a budge.

      @swavvyrico2360 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, my DSi upper screen is showing up white lines. Started at the bottom and is slowly filling up the screen the more I use it. The bottom screen is fine tho. Any idea what is wrong? Thanks in advance for any help. ;-)

      When you plug in the charger and get a quick orange flash (some people might call this yellow), you probably blew a fuse.
