I am not a native english speaker, but you said the Auto event detection (and timelapse mode) is not working, not creating ANY video. I think you wanted to say that the Auto event detection is working but is not saving in separate folder the emergency video files marked as protected by the G-Sensor. My advice is, as a pro, when looking for videos you should look for them also on PC directly from the card because is possible in the Viofo App from smartphone to not appear because of other things than dashcam itself. I am almost sure that all your videos from this youtube episode were on the card. Even the ones which were not marked (as expected!) as Protected.
I only look on a Mac computer. The videos are there but it is not locking the video as an impact. Which means the video can be over written and not protected. I know the difference of what your talking about as I brought it up to Viofo last year when they were telling everyone you could now use a 512gb sd card and the 256 were even acting up. I do feel they fixed the videos missing in the app challenge when they added options in for front, rear and interior viewing making it not have to load as many videos. Either way it is not working 100% just like there hdr night vision is a challenge as well on this model which is delaying my full review. As i am giving them time to fix it.
@@SafeDriveSolutions I have firmware V1.0_230912 and for me the Auto Event Detection is working and an impact is creating the locked video. G-Sensor in parkin mode set as default as High sensitivity. Maybe you had another setting on it or you didn't look where the protected videos are.
@@HD2You I could make a whole new video showing you that they were not in the RO file folder. Either way Most testers have been testing video quality and sometimes parking mode gets overlooked. This is what I found and reported to VIOFO. I do mention in the video they will get it fixed. Glad to hear your works. Maybe this is an issue when using it in 3 channel mode. Maybe my rear camera has a different firmware on it and that is the issue? I reported it to Viofo. I could make a whole video on how Auto Event detection should not even be an option for parking mode as it locks up in high heat. At least the A139 Pro does on multiple occasions. @@navarrolaurent7548 radar mode or energy saving mode
@@SafeDriveSolutions I put myself in radar mode
Was this corrected with the new firmware V1.3.1_241024?
yes newer firmwares did correct the chhalenges discovered
@@SafeDriveSolutions great job in bringing this to their attention.
How do I know if I hardwired the cam perfectly to get into parking mode? When I switch the car off it goes off and I don’t know if it has entered the parking mode. I have configured the settings on the app for parking but i thought it would alert me with something like “ parking mode enabled” your help will be appreciated
You must use the hardwired parking mode cable. If you do have one and it's wired correctly, it will say "parking recording started" after 30s of key off.
@@SafeDriveSolutionsdoes the hardwired parking mode cable not come with the full purchase , is it a separate purchase ?
@@Sunsun-ev2xd yes it is a seperate part viofo hk4
Why my cam didnt record everything wjat can i do i bought a 3 yr warranty return for redund or keep it. Any issue with the cam or sd or wiring.
Does parking mode need hard wiring?
Yeah you need a hk4 parking mode cable.
I dont understand why, im trying to get one for my semi truck which have 4 batteries so I dont care about consumption. My cigarette lighter has continuous power even when the truck is off so whats the problem ?
Does it monitor both cameras? I can't find this information anywhere
Both cameras record while parked. Can you be more specific in your question
@@SafeDriveSolutions I'm asking if they monitor both cameras for motion sensing (not g-shock)
@@The_Ballo yes they do.
@@SafeDriveSolutions thanks
I just bought viofo a229 pro and I have an issue with it when I put on auto detection mode it’s only detect about 30 minutes and after that it doesn’t i did change all the settings to to fix this issue but it’s still not recoding any motions after 30 minutes when I stop my car . Thank you
What did you set parking mode timer for?
@@SafeDriveSolutions 24 hrs but it’s only record for 30 minutes
@@IBE.55 1. could be your low battery protection. 2. could be your power source on your vehicle is going asleep. 3. and the ever more popular one people like to use 3rd party cables that are not Viofo. Did you use the HK4?
@@SafeDriveSolutions yeah I did use hk4
@@SafeDriveSolutions thank you for your respond
Curious if you know whether or not Viofo has corrected the motion detection and locking issues yet? Thanks for doing this work, much appreciated!
They have but i still would not recommend using this feature at all.
@@SafeDriveSolutionsSo which mode would you recommend?
Thanks!

@@SafeDriveSolutionsThanks brother!
Great video, Ben! Has the A229 pro been updated since that glitch you mentioned? Also, can you disable motion detection in parking mode and only set it for impact? I live in a duplex and my camera would be going off non-stop otherwise, thanks!!
yes lots of updates
@@SafeDriveSolutions What about disabling the motion detection in parking mode? I just want parking mode to turn my camera on in the event of an impact.
@@ovaismalikvoviofo does nor work that way. Which is why we offer Vueroid for that solution
Hi,
I'm trying to find the best dashcam(especially for parking). Which is better of the Viofo A229 Pro, Viofo A139 Pro and the Vantrue N5? I've also been looking into the Blackvues. Just can't decide which of them capture the footage best.
Thanks in advance
Personally would get A139 Pro. I have not tested an N5 thoroughly to know if there is any issue. A229 Pro will be solid in a month or so once firmware is finalized
Is it corrrectly understood that the A229 pro is the successor of the A139 pro?
@@recklessracoon7190 In my opinion it is not a successor. It is a different line. A139 series is non-lcd series and a229 is the LCD series. It should be for 2 different types of customers. However the A229 Pro has a 4K front and 2K rear and overall when in 3 channel mode it will still do 30 frames persecond while a139 pro will not. I personally expect certain things to perform better.
Blackvue parking mode is better imo
I’m looking at getting the viofo A229 pro, but are you aware of a software fix for this issue yet as this is holding me back at the moment, great channel by the way
Yea it was fixed 8 months ago 😊
Hi, is there any dash cam battery you'd recommend for viofo A229 PRO? Does it require any particular wire kit? Thank you. :D
We have been using IROAD powerpack pro 12 quite a bit. you will need a HK4 hardwire cable as well.
@@SafeDriveSolutions Thank you so much for sharing this. Cheers.
How to play video on ohone when i dont know the pw and cant reset. So i have to remove from my car n connect to computer to see videos
Thanks for doing this!
Sure thing!
Awesome channel!
Thank you!
Hopefully Blackvue say hold my beer, and improve on their 3 camera with DVR box. That's what I'm looking for.
The DR770X box?
@@SafeDriveSolutions Yes. That one. I feel like that's the only solution to parking mode. Because I'm in the city and if someone breaks into you car and swipes your dashcam, you have nothing.
@@Super6ix06 I dont feel people are going out of their way to steal dash cameras. But if it is a concern I think any dash camera with CLOUD service where there is a sim card and a battery pack involved is a good solution
@@SafeDriveSolutions had my car broken into in September. They even stole the child seat , so yeah , dash would've been a goner. They steal everything in NY.
@@Super6ix06 that sucks
The reason it appeared to not save the video impact was because it was already saved (the saved video loop time had not expired.).
When the original firmware came out 11 months ago. (which is when this video was made) Viofo had to make a new firmware to correct this issue. They then asked me to verify it was fixed on the new firmware.
Parking mode - Auto event detection.
Parking Motion Detection - Low sensitivity.
Firmware - V1.0_230928
Camera in Parking mode recording continiusly and after 2 days memory card (256 Mb) is full.
What is the problem?
I would use low bitrate temporarily. I caught it yesterday and reported it to Viofo.
@@SafeDriveSolutions with the new firmware V1.2_240227 is that working correct now? thanks for your answer
@@dresdnermuldental8876 I do not reccomend auto event detection. I believe that Viofo should remove this option as it has lots of known issues or take the buffered recording from 13 seconds down to like 3 or 5 seconds and maybe that will correct it
I am not a native english speaker, but you said the Auto event detection (and timelapse mode) is not working, not creating ANY video.
I still have all original files on my desktop and the only files that were locked are the Low Bitrate files in parking mode. Every manufacturer has their challenges. I am sure they will fix it.
