Really interesting video, but there is one mistake at the end. The golden Lancehead is not poisonos, its venomous. The difference is in the intoxication process: Poison must be ingested, either by drinking, eating or being absorbed through the skin or something similar, while venom is delivered by injecting the prey.
Hi, I am from São Paulo- Brazil. Thank you for this video. I used to go to Peruíbe (the nearest beach from Snake Island) in my childhood. I've just known about this island this week.
It was kind of surprising to hear such strange facts in the snakes that live on an island. I mean how many of us actually think that an island acts as a home for a whole new evolved species of poisonous snakes. Moreover, the documentary was amazing. Great job guys.

I believe it is the Taipan which lives in Australia although there two different species, I am not sure which one has more potent venom but I think it may be the inland species, though they are not very aggressive.
As far as we know the most toxic venom of any snake, maximum yield recorded (for one bite) is 110mg; enough to kill over 100 people or 250,000 mice. The Inland Taipan or famously known as 'fierce snake', has this venom. 💀

Great video but as I am Brazilian and from São Paulo, I could say there is a small mistake (and I could check the same is in the Wikipedia). These snakes are descendent and evolution from ordinary jararaca (Bothrops jararaca). Once during the colonization of Brazil, after the country changed to Republic, the government of S. Paulo has built a lighthouse where a couple used to live. Most people believe that during these small trips between the island and the cities of Itanhaem or Santos, some mice in the boats have traveled to the island.... and following the mice, the jararaca. With time and depleting all food sources, these snakes started to prey on themselves as there is no more mice, eggs, or birds and evolution gave them a very dangerous poison compared with an ordinary jararaca. Also, they climb rocks and trees, different from jararacas which are preferred to stay in the ground. They can survive almost one year without food and they absorb water from rain as there are no natural water resources on the island.....
@@ababababaababbba The only truly “poisonous” snakes are ones that can kill you if you eat them. Like garter snakes that eat Pacific newts - the newts’ poison accumulates in their tissue so if you ate the snake you would be poisoned. Venom and poison aren’t the same thing.
