Ive been to places that kinda do this Its usually when i sit at the bar They assume im good when i get my main course and drop the bill in a cup thing in front of me by the edge of the bar If i order dessert, they pull the old one and drop a new bill It saves time and i never feel rushed
You can always tell when somebody has never had to work food service a day in their life. It really does show in the entitlement.
