Just found your channel yesterday and I watched almost all of your videos. And now, I am a huge fan of your Malaysian vegan dishes. As a Malaysian and vegetarian, it was really hard for me to find great vegetarian recipes for Malaysian dishes. But, you are doing a wonderful job. Kudos to you, my friend. I am eagerly waiting for your next video. 🥰🙏
Thank you so much! This is the reason I love sharing these recipes! 💖 We need more people to know it's possible to veganise Malaysian cuisine ✨ Hope you give some of my recipes a try 😊 Can't wait to share the next one soon 🎉
Hye! I'm a new Malaysian subscriber. I'm no vegan but I love watching your channel to see how you use alternative ingredients for belacan, anchovies, and other meat product. Keep it up, sis!!! ❤
Your channel deserves 1m subs! Seriously! I’m a vegetarian Malaysian living in the US n I love your channel. You need to advertise so that the vegan community can find you !
@@TheKampungVegan I MADE IT! I have no idea what it's supposed to taste like but it's amazing! Thank you for the recipe. Delicious! I can throw it on top of anything.
Hi! Really love your videos 💕 can’t wait to try more veggie option. But I’ve a question, is it really necessary to put the “ikan bilis” in the oven first before frying it?
Hello! Thank you so much 🥰 Yes, it is. Baking it first solidifies the whole thing and makes all the layers stick. You won't be able to cut them into strips and fry otherwise. But feel free to experiment and see how it goes!
Thanks for your clever recipe. I experiment with with foojuk skin/yuba and find it has the chewiness of ikin bilis when coated with cornstarch or potato then fried crispy
the ikan bilis creation is just another level! I tried but somehow the tofu keep falling off and I couldn’t cut it into strips. I end up cutting into four and deep fried and tofu kept falling off the layers of the sheets. any tips to avoid this? otherwise we loved the taste of it ❤️
Wow, what a genius recipe! This looks delicious! I'm going to be needing a container load of pandan leaves to be delivered to my UK address to get me through the next year😂
Thank you!! I'm so happy with how the anchovies turned out. Such an addictive snack, dangerous to have around 😂 hahhaha! I wonder if you could grow pandan leaves there? 🤔

amazing 👏 ❤
I truly love the recipe, especially the vegan ikan bilis is sucha hit! My only turn off is the use of MSG!
Thank you for watching! The MSG is completely optional, feel free not to use it 😊
Why is it a turn off? Because all the myths by the West about how bad it is?
@@laramiaizz Some people get bad reaction after eating it eventhough it's taste good at first.
Looks so yummy!!!!
Thank you so much, Gan! 😍
Looks very interesting.
Something new to try.

Hehe that would be convenient! Then you can be my taste tester 😋
It's so wonderful that you are veganizing all these Malaysian dishes but I was shocked that you are using MSG. It's really bad for your health❌
In moderation… it’s okay! Stop demonising the MSG… my grandmother uses MSG for decades…
