Great old shotgun. I’ve got a 37 pigtail red letter, 1st year in 16 gauge. Rescued it from a damp basement. It was a rusted mess so I refinished it. No collector value now but i good shooter.
My first shot gun was a Mod.37 in 20 gauge I got for my 10th birthday in 1957,. my dad found Mod.37A for both my sons one in '82 and my youngest '84! He had a hard time coming with them!
Long barrels and TIGHT full chokes make for some long range bird busters and loads heavier than 3 1/2 Dram 11/8 ounce loads made for some unpleasant shooting recoil perceptions/opinions from many shooters. BTW. post 64 37A's were manufactured in Cahnahnahdah.
@ not totally sure when Coey was bought by Winchester but, as I recall it was right around that time period that Winchester was trying to cut manfacturing costs . That is not to say Coey Arms were cheaply made ,they were fine firearms.

Old classic shotgun! Thanks for sharing. Nice to have a family heirloom that means something special to you.
Thanks
Bought a 12 gauge model 37 at an auction for $100 this summer...a little rough around the edges, but it shoots just fine...i'm very happy with it...
Good price. These days almost anything that will go "Bang" will bring $150.
Great buy!
A real classic...I used to see these single shots on a lot of country store punch boards...😂😂thanks shep
They sure are.
I was watching a 28ga red letter. Near the end of the auction the price went absolutely nuts.
I think those are pretty rare.
20 g here. Great gun. Thanks , grandaddy.

That’s no doubt a Coey , because Winchester bought out Coey Arms.
what about the ones made in 1964? 😉
