I don't know what anyone is talking about but somehow I ended up here and I'm glad they're grilling the doctors like this so they don't have clowns out here doing surgery on us.
@@HomemadeBrownies1 not even true some operations are classed as major and some are minor. regardless an appendicectomy is just less of a hassle then a orthopedic surgerty

Getting into a specialisation is fairly horrible. This will be one of several exams. In others they will be presented with cases and asked to describe what they would do. They will also have had standard written exams.
Very informative. I love how they throw curve ball questions and keep the pressure on him constantly. I feel as if he backpeddaled with some of the questions though.. very interesting otherwise
In order for a doctor to say they are board certified in their area of specialty they must go through the boards, this is an example of a doctor going through the process to become board certified in orthopedics.

They do. They’re called NPs.
@@HomemadeBrownies1 surely nps arent doing orthopedic surgeries? appendicectomies maybe

Dr. Webb did this!
😂
Wish Dr. Webb could show us his exam
Back in the day to match into ortho you had to have a combined max bench and step 1 score over 500

Interesting! 🙂
why did he give aspirin for VTE prophylaxis when it should be a coagulation cascade medication? e.g. DOAC/LMWH heparin
No risk factors for VTE so aspirin used as because at 81 mg it will have least ammount of side effects
@@123sahilpatil4isn’t surgery a risk factor for vte?
@@TRasul Yeah but not major enough to give LMWH or warfarin or any other cascade inhibitor

I didn’t notice any backpedaling. He had good rationale for the decisions.

umm actually 324mg
81 times 4
correct me if im wrong
☝🤓
There are Aspirin brands that come in 325 mg doses
😂 ASA 81 mg BID offers the same efficacy of 325 mg QD with less bleeding risk.❤
A full dose aspirin is 325 mg. If 81 mg doses are only available, then four doses are given (324 mg), which is basically the same as a full dose.
ASSitabulum??
Yeah that’s the way that I hear it most often. I used to pronounce it “aceetabelum”
