0:47 - To me, I felt like Ange was testing his #6 options (very smart) between Skipp, Gray, and Bissouma. Gray looked the most comfortable and most creative in that defensive role, offensive transition position that the #6 has to be able to do, especially in an Ange system. Even with Bissouma being in the more natural #6 role, Gray made more things happen at CB in the transition and stopped a lot more offensive plays than both Skipp and Bissouma. Even though he was the youngest, freshest #6 out there he looked far superior to both. Bissouma still looked stiff, I want him to get back to the free-flowing swagger he was playing with at the start of last season. Until then, Gray might take his spot.
6:19 - Amazing moment for what the future can bring, but don't compare Will to Harry Kane. Also, if we sell Spence after that performance and buy Kyle Walker-Peters, we are not a club we are a joke. Djed Spence, despite his attitude (which I think is due to youth), would be amazing back-up at LB/RB this season.

Disagree with the assessment that the defence looked more open in the second half than the first. In the first half hearts had 2 or three clear cut chances they should have scored from.
Emerson should be sold but during this game, apart from the mistake him and Phillips were solid.
Obviously he shouldn't even be our second option in the regular season but as for this game he played relatively well.
@@tonykivai A big problem were the expectations of our managers, their philosophy and tactics. Mou's system didn't match with the style of our players. And Conte was a bad idea, cause he could only have won if Levy spent big and got him half of Inter Milans players, what as we know, Levy would never have done. Royal is from the Barca academy and had a great season with Betis. There he had a completly diffrent role, he provided passes and crosses, that's why he ended the season for Betis as a key player with the most assists for the club and in the league. Just as Cucurella or Grimaldo who needed a manager, who is playing them in the right system and position. But Royal hasn't fit in Mourinhos, Contes and I'm afraid Postecoglous system

Kulusevski played that position on many occasions last season, It's no surprise.
Last season Kulusevski was a TERRIBLE winger, but he looked great in the midfield yesterday. I know we've been stocking up big time on midfielders, but that's really where Kulusevski should be as well (unless Ange wants to try him at striker 😉)

I think Bissouma playing as a 6 might be Archie Gray's role once the season starts(as a lone pivot). Yes, it's a big responsibility for an 18 year old, but if it works out, we could concede at least 10 less goals next season, which might be the difference between us and a top 4 finish

Well they are the future and i hope Ange uses them regularly with good game time and not keep them on the bench and give them 5 minute here, ten mins there, what is the point of having young talent if he keeps them on the bench.I think Its seems the young ones are the only new players we will be buying this season, because i have heard nothing of any big name players coming to Spurs this season a lot of rumors thats all .

In all respect, but I saw the match live and to me personally Salomon haven’t brought anything to the table, who is rated as senior player. I would say, let the young play and give them a real chance, but they need to be slowly introduced and time. Time we haven’t got, the PL is starting soon. To me Djed sold hinself high, he was good at his position. Sure, he might wanted to impress the gaffer, but you could really see how hard he worked for the team. I would have loved to see de Santiago scoring. Cause one thing is clear, we need a striker
Reading into something about nothing. Spurs had no backs. Putting mids in defence helps their defensive understanding. Donley would be torn to pieces as a fullback.
All our PL defence problems were evident against Hearts. We still lack a DM of quality.
I mean we all knew kulusevski is much better in midfield? His best games were there.

Bissouma played this way several times last season. It's not new
The praise on Gray is quite misleading. He did a great job filling in at CB but for the most part he had more time on the ball to pick the passes he wanted to with decent movement in front of him and 50/52 passes is not unusual for a CB because of this reason. His positioning wasn't always great - which you wouldn't expect as he's not a CB - but saying he was flawless is just overhype. He showed some great promise playing in the game, especially in an unusual position, but everyone falling over his performance is too much
Gray is absolute quality. Has a very high ceiling.

Wow not again, please stop with this narrative, they have shown some talent but it’s too early we should not put all expectations on these young players too soon. We need to be level headed. Give them time to settle to grow and improve. I am already sick of hearing this mindless adoration straight out the gate. Yes we should be behind them but not to the point of generational talent and future this future that. It was Cambridge and Hearts not really a testing situation, it’s just getting match fitness and seeing how they produced in game. How players show in pre season doesn’t mirror the following season. Too many fans said last year Lo Celso was outstanding and then what happened during the season… not a lot.
